Hi, everybody! (Hi, Dr. Pho!)

H'okay, so. This is kind of long-winded, but only because it's two announcements crammed into one. Like a clearance sale! Or something.

Anyway, first off, this upcoming Monday, I'm starting what I've not-so-affectionately nicknamed the Summer Hell Semester. The long story short is that thanks to my internship, job, classes, and studying, anything resembling free time is about to completely go down the tubes; we're talking me pulling something like fifty- to sixty-hour weeks from now until the beginning of August. I'll still be posting my folks in occasionally, and if I'm needed for plot, all you've gotta do is say the word -- but appearances are going to be kind of rare as a whole, and I need to ask that you please, please don't expect me to slowtime. It sucks, but I just don't think I'll be able to carry threads over multiple days anymore. If it's plotty, sure; if it's one of those threads where things are getting really interesting but it's three AM and sleep needs to happen, sure. But I highly doubt I'll be able to make a habit of it.

This is going to affect flybywash, q_in_training, mercurialist, its_a_robe, and (deep breath as she fesses up to the sekrit pup) watchmakers_son.

And second...speaking of Wash.

Unfortunately, due to a number of factors, Wash will be retired on June 10th. I promise that I will post him in at least once between now and then, and the above statement re: no slowtimes won't apply to any threads in his last EP. He's had a good run, but his story -- the Milliways portion of it, at least -- is winding down, and it's just time for him to bow out. I'll be making a much longer and sappier back room post about it on the 10th, I'm sure, but for now: thank you so much to everyone who's made the last two and a half years (!) of playing him as awesome as they've been.

I do say, for your own peace of mind, that you can wrangle some free time in sixty hour work weeks. I've been managing to one degree or another for three years now.

It takes scheduling, but you WILL have some breathing space and a reasonable amount of sleep. Most weeks. (Not necessarily online time, but--time. Which is helpful, I've found.)

Spotting Wash here, just about a year ago, was what got me interested in Milliways; reading through his memories got me hooked, and eventually led to me apping mend_and_defend. I'm sad to see Wash go, but he's had a hell of a run. Thanks for playing him, and for continuing to play in general.
