Zhaan has a patient with a bullet wound. He needs to go under general anesthesia so she can get it out, but it's not a good idea to do that sort of thing without another doctor or nurse on hand.

Will Guppy or Simon (and because of Shavuot, I know it will probably be the former) please come to the infirmary? Zhaan has pressed the call button, so if you are on the bar premises, you'll get an alert.

Do you guys still need a healer? I can offer Nita's services, if so (I have four hours of wireless bought, which ought to be enough to take care of what's needed *grin*).

Thanks for the offer, but unfortunately I will be going to work soon, and will not be able to stick around long enough to complete this thread until after I get back at 5:00. Also, Zhaan's pressed the infirmary call button and the only ones who have receivers are Simon and Guppy, so they are the only ones who would know to come.

I'm sorry about that, though I do encourage Nita to talk to Simon about working in the infirmary if she has healing skills.

Not a problem, just figured I'd offer. :) Nita's been working in the Infirmary for most of the 2+ years she's been coming to Milliways -- usually I just bend Millitime to our needs and have her conveniently hanging out in or near the Infirmary.

Your and Doc-mun's preferences trump, of course. The offer stands (with a slowtime qualifier, unfortunately), if she should become needed as a deus ex machina.

Um, Hannah? This is all very well and shiny, but Guppy isn't a qualified anaesthetist. Or a surgeon. There's not going to be a great deal of things he can do if it goes pear shaped.

That said, being life or death, he'll try just about anything if he has to.

Sorry, I wasn't totally sure what Guppy is and isn't able to do. Zhaan can actually do the anesthesia and surgery, but it would be good for her to have a second pair of hands and eyes. I could also use your advice as a mun because you actually know more about surgery than I do, and while I have a general idea of what has to be done, I need help with the specifics.

If you really think it would be a better idea for me to wait until Batya gets back or something, I'm okay with that. But I think Guppy would be useful in assisting Zhaan, and I don't have plans for this to go pear-shaped anyway.
