Hello Daytimers!

Greetings. My name is Alex and play in Milliways in the daytime. (Daytime in this case is between 9 am and 5 pm Eastern time.) Time was, the Bar was pretty busy in the daytime, but with RL intruding and people graduating and work taking precedence (and rightly so) and so on, things have changed. But I suspect that there are plenty of you still out there by day. Oh, not for the whole day, but an hour here and a few minutes there and so on.

So I'm here to encourage you to play by day. A tag here and a tag there, maybe an OOM. Even an occasional entry post. Let's make the daytimes a little livelier again.

Any takers? Any thoughts? Any requests? Anyone want a mint?

*waves*

I'm a morning player who's often frustrated at all the awesome that goes down at night. So many people I want to tag, but they tag in right as I'm crossing the brink of coherency. I'm also saddened by the dearth of RP in the morning. So I'm with Alex: if you have time to spare, come, play with us! We're a friendly lot.

I'm around, too, during the day.

A mint would be lovely. Thank you!

I'm another who enjoys Milliways by daylight in addition to evening play, though my job has been uncharacteristically nutty this week, preventing me from poking my head in much. (I will pick up that tag, Alex--I promise!)

*waves to other day players*

*waves back, although is not really a day player*

If you threw Brennan in during daylight hours I would definitely be motivated to tag, as the first Raz-Tempy thread was hilarity in a can and subsequent ones can, of course, only get more awesome. :)

I used to be a daytimer. Now I'm mostly a noonish-to-ungodly-AM-timer. I can be convinced to EP at noon, however (provided you give me that mint you're talking about *snatches*). :D?

[identity profile] berryberryraz.livejournal.com 2007-05-31 04:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Addendum: I betcha it'd help if y'all daytime players parked yourselves in crackchat more often. I generally take it as a sign that things are slow if I'm the only one in the room, which is usually the case when I first fire up the ol' internets (i.e. around noon, when the daytimers should be in their prime). How's that sound? =)

[identity profile] berryberryraz.livejournal.com 2007-05-31 04:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, point. I find it equally easy to multitask RP and AIM, personally, so I hadn't thought of that, but good point.

[identity profile] buongiornodaisy.livejournal.com 2007-05-31 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I've long since given up on AIM chat rooms for my sanity, as I find I can't follow them and tend to get stressed out. Even on the internet, social interaction can rub my outer introvert the wrong way. I much prefer one-on-one chat.

That's my long and belabored excuse.

[identity profile] berryberryraz.livejournal.com 2007-05-31 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that works. Personally my outer introvert likes to hang around watching the craziness, but to each her own.

[identity profile] there-is-a-me.livejournal.com 2007-05-31 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm generally around during the days, but I can not crackchat. I can not, for that matter, any chat with more than about six people in it. Seriously, it's not a great way to see if people are actually around with interest to play.

[identity profile] berryberryraz.livejournal.com 2007-05-31 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't even use AIM before I started playing Milliways, so I'm unfortunately used to thinking of chat as a good measure.

[identity profile] lissla-lissar.livejournal.com 2007-05-31 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Same mun, different character.

I pre-date the chats as a method of Milliways communication, which is why I don't. Sometimes it bugs me that so many new people think that everyone does/should use the chats just because there are so many people who, for one reason or another, don't. I feel like chat-centric people miss out on a lot.

[identity profile] berryberryraz.livejournal.com 2007-05-31 07:16 pm (UTC)(link)
My original comment wasn't about whether or not people use the chats, but *when* they do so; I probably should've been more clear, but I was referring to the phenomenon of chat being empty at noon despite a lot of frequent chatters being online, and then everybody flooding in later in the afternoon.

Sometimes around, though frequently having to do stuff. And figuring easier to get it done so free for evening crowd. But might toss somebody in for slowish RP.

I generally enter the Bar during the day and get very few tags. It would be so nice to see more people around during the day. I can never get on at night because of abusy social life so the only time I can post is when I'm at work. Rping at work is definately the way to make the day go by quicker.

I'm around. I'm working on a post right now and I'm going to hit some others up.

PS, where's crackchat at?

[identity profile] canadabear.livejournal.com 2007-05-31 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
It's currently at 'thecrackenawakens' but it does occasionally change. Changes are posted in this comm using the appropriately named tag 'where's crackchat at? (http://community.livejournal.com/ways_back_room/tag/where%27s+crackchat+at%3F)'.

Thank you! I'd seen the tag but wasn't sure if it had changed since and not been updated. :)

I'm gonna tag you one of these days!

Damn right you are. :P I kid, I kid, I would love to thread with you sometime.

I'm in and out pretty much whenever, working on US central time. Mid/late mornings are no-go for the summer, as I've got class, but afternoons I don't see why not. I'm generally an evening/night/ungodly close to dawn player, but afternoons work too, now I think about it. :)

*nicks a mint* Cheers!

Hurrah, Alex -- I heartily encourage this!

Even though I myself am struggling with a definite dearth of daytime hours in which to play, I do very much like reading over things later. :)

I'm not exactly daytime due to being on the other side of the world but I tend to be up and posting on the edges of this time. If I'm up, I'll tag and such and encourage people who are on to do the same.

I am a daytime player when I have days off, but since I'm on the West Coast my definition of "day" is different from most of the muns.
