Helloooooooooo Milliways!

As you can see, we've a new pup. Her name is Arianrhod and she is a goddess from Celtic mythology, and this post is here to inform ya'll about what it is that she does.

She is the goddess of the full moon, the stars, fertility, regeneration, and reincarnation. She also rules over the heart chakra and is able to see the future and past. When she's at home, she ferries the dead to their final resting places. She can also access what is known as the whirlpool of Creation, but will not be doing that because I have Research to do. ANYWAY!

If your pup is pregnant or dead, she will really be able to tell. Immediately. If your pup has magical/strange powers or is not just a regular Joe, she will be able to tell. If your pup is in love/broken-hearted/feeling very emotional, whether that emotion is positive or negative, she will be able to tell. If you ask her to see something for you, she will. (She can also take you to a certain point in time - this is only to be used for ZOMGextremely drastic Things. It is like a Christmas Carol thing.) If you ask her to help you heal, she will. If you're dead and you want to move on (this is a complicated Thing - only for use if you're retiring/deleting a pup), she will help you. She can help you, she can bless you, she will do all of these without hesitation.

BUT.

Her powers are governed by the phases of the moon. At full moon she is most powerful - at new moon, forget it. Celestial happenings, such as comets or meteors, also have an effect on her power level, but I've not had to deal with that yet so that remains undefined for now.

During the day, she will still have her power, although it will be considerably weaker, regardless of the phase of the moon.

AND.

Your pup can't be skeptical about her powers. At all. If they are, she will not be able to do anything for them. She will let them know.

One important note: She will not help unless your pup asks for help. She has dealt with mortals before and knows that they can be very proud and get offended when someone thinks they need help.

Mostly, she's here to learn and help. (And flirt, probably.)

(She can also curse/use her powers against you. But she probably won't, unless you really make her mad or make her feel extremely threatened. It's difficult to make her mad/scared.)

She will also probably not talk about her past/family much. It is a thing, I've decided, with her.

If you have any questions, pleaaaaaaaase contact me! There are limits on what she can do! and if you wish to have your pup helped in some way, IM me or drop me a message in Ari's journal and we will work something out.

Also, one last note: her moods sometimes fall under the jurisdiction of whatever the current Zodiac sign is. Beware!

Anyway, I'm very glad to have Arianrhod here and I hope you all enjoy threading with her. :D

And um, one final added note: If you know a lot lot about Celtic mythology and think of something I should be addressing with Arianrhod, please let me know! I am still learning about her and her roots through research that will probably take a while. Thanks!

She and Jack should talk sometime, since their stewardships overlap.

Yes, I think that's quite possible.

Melou will most certainly know who she is, once he's told her name, follower of the Celtic/Welsh gods as he is. He'll even behave.

You've probably seen the story of Arianhrod in the Fourth Branch of the medieval Welsh Mabinogion, but if you haven't, it's here. I was always amused by the bit when they test her virginity by having her step over a wand and a baby falls out of her vagina. (The link I sent you doesn't describe her childbirth that specifically. That's because it's Charlotte Guest's rather bowdlerized nineteenth-century translation.)
