Ramen's Big Back Room Quiz Post!

Okay. So I've been thinking of these for a while and I thought they'd be fun to post (since I've finally got some time.)And I thought this would be fun.

PATRONUSES

The Patronus Charm conjures an incarnation of the caster's innermost positive feelings, such as joy, hope, or the desire to survive, known as a Patronus. A Patronus can be viewed as the exact opposite of a Dementor. Even though it embodies all the positive emotions that a Dementor feeds on, a Patronus is conjured as a protector, and is a weapon rather than a feast: Patronuses shield their conjurors from Dementors, and even drive them away. Patronuses "cannot feel despair, as real humans can, so Dementors can't hurt it."[1] The conjured Patronus protects the witch or wizard that summoned it, obeys his or her commands, and fades away shortly after it is no longer required.

When conjured, a Patronus appears silvery, ethereal, and semi-transparent. Improperly formed Patronuses range from momentary formless bursts of silvery mist, to poorly-defined forms which are easily defeated or quickly dissipate on their own. A full-fledged (or corporeal) Patronus takes on a solid (if somewhat ethereal) fixed animal form that is of great significance to the witch or wizard casting the charm, as it reflects their personality/character. Finally, Patronuses summoned by a particular person have been known to change due to life-altering events, such as personal tragedy or falling in love, as expressed by Nymphadora Tonks when she fell in love with Remus Lupin, although it is insinuated that is it Remus Lupin's rejection of Tonks that causes her patronus to change form, not the love.

So like-

Matt: A police dog. His Daemon and his Patronus charm would be the same since the police dog kinda embodies who he is. Loyal to his masters and those he loves, terrible to others with special powers of...detection?

Muldoon: Muldoon would be something big and Hairy with lots of sharp teeth and claws. It'd also be a real loner-type animal. Something like a Tiger or a Bear.

So. Take a moment. Think of your character in the wizarding world-and-what would your character's fully formed corpreal patronus be?

Edit
And what would yours be?

For some really weird reason My brain is telling me bald eagle. But I'll probably change that half a dozen times.

I do not have a Dalek Patronus.

*is not surprised* Heee, that makes so much sense for Peter.

*feels sorry for the Dementors then* XD

Nathan, considering what he is... probably an eagle or hawk.

A snow leopard!

I got nothin'.

[identity profile] alorn-bear.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
A bear. Probably a polar bear.

After discussing it with canonmate, [livejournal.com profile] gypsyjr, I have settled on Skinner's actual patronus being a fox. Because he, too, is a fox.

Also, it just makes sense.

Now, no thanks to this meme, my brain is trying to make me imagine Skinner as a Slytherin. D:

I'm going to have to go with badger here. They dig in deep and they hold on tight, and God help you if you go after the rest of the sett when one of them's around. It would be perfect for Quinn's Patronus.

Oh, I'm gonna have to say some species of bat, here. Because, let's be honest, what else hears that well and has that kind of reputation, huh?

[personal profile] masterofsoresu 2007-07-11 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
I think I answered this somewhere already. I know I've thought about it. Obi-Wan's would be a mynock, because he's the Master of Soresu, and the resilience form is the Way of the Mynock.

[identity profile] action-antihero.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
Heee. *points to icon*

AND RYAN CHAPPELLE WOULD TOTALLY BE A PENGUIN.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_chappy_/ 2007-07-11 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
There's a big surprise. *eyeroll*

And a penguin? How does that even make sense? I'm good at surviving the cold? I can't fly?

Shulkie's patronus would be a killer whale: powerful, joyous, very social, very gregarious, but able to do significant damage if needed.

When I took the Daemon test at the Golden Compass movie site?

Shulkie's daemon WAS A BUMBLEBEE.

...I got nothing

Strahan's would so be a spider. Even thought about spider being one of his animal forms at least a few times.

Rodolphus' would be a hyena: ruthless, tenacious ... that sort of thing.

Rabastan's would be a bird of some kind. Mainly because he wants to distance himself from what he's gotten himself into.

A human.

Jack Daniels, to be specific.

[personal profile] mnt_mike 2007-07-11 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
Possibly a human?

Maybe quite possibly Jimmy Buffett.

(Though in truth for the both of them it'd really be a rat)

For some reason, I'm thinking a fox for Will and I have no idea why though also Robin, since well it is Will after all. Perhaps combine them both for Disney Robin Hood just for the crack.

[identity profile] kali921.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
How about a cardinal? Red, mischievous, and confident? :-) Fox totally fits him, though.

Mia's is probably be a dragon, as they have always been creatures of holiness & protection in her world & they can be connected to her strongest relationships (her mother, her friends, Nall, Draco).

Homestar's would be a platypus. Just because.

If I had a patronus, it would very likely be a bear, as that's the creature I associate with my father & he's the strongest person I know. He'd have to be if he can stand to live with the likes of us.

[identity profile] dragonofgrey.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
Awwww!

Millicanon it's a fox for Draco. Especially since it was said Patronus can be linked to Animagus form.

vivien: picture of me drunk and giggling (Potter Puff Tom)

[personal profile] vivien 2007-07-11 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Millicanonically, Tom's is a king cobra. *nods*

[identity profile] whisper2ascream.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
As for my other pups, mentioned some before.

Venkman would be some kind of cat.

Giles probably be an owl, or a raven. (He's such a Ravenclaw)

Truman would be hmmmm... he's very curious, and open minded. Imaginative. Likely a monkey.

[identity profile] whisper2ascream.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
As for me... oh easy actually. Likely a leopard or a bear.

Though apparently my Golden Compass daemon's an ocelot. Heee.

[identity profile] skjaldmeyjar.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
Svava's would be a lion- some sort of large cat, at least. Probably one of those prehistoric European lions. Caring, maternal- and ready to rip anything apart that threatens her family.

[identity profile] fiveroundsrapid.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
The Brigadier's is an aurochs.
watchmakers_son: (a new name)

[personal profile] watchmakers_son 2007-07-11 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
A cockroach. Totally a huge, Kafka-esque-sized cockroach.

I'm tempted to say Mac's would be a cat of some kind, but I have no idea what.
watchmakers_son: (I like pie. I mean ice cream.)

[personal profile] watchmakers_son 2007-07-11 03:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, and mine?

...It'd be way too obvious to say a phoenix, but that doesn't make it any less true. *sheepish grin*

[identity profile] gothymcgoth.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
Mollys would be her father. Or maybe Mouse, Harrys dog.

Jericho---- A mongoose.

And mine would be a ferret.
visible_sariel: (just little me)

[personal profile] visible_sariel 2007-07-11 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
Sariel's would likely be some sort of tropical bird, though I'm uncertain of exactly what type. This calls for research, I think.

As for mine, I'm caught between two; either it'd come up a dragon, or go in the completely opposite direction and be a house cat. :)

[identity profile] gethenian.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, this is fun! Um.

While my daemon may be a badger, I've always thought my Patronus would be a stag, for reasons that have nothing whatsoever to do with the annoying coincidence of it also being Harry's. *glower*

If Miniver ever learns the Patronus charm, his will be a butterfly. He's just that gay sometimes. XD

Faramir's Patronus would probably be a horse. Stronger half a Rohirrim, and all that. Though I could see his also being a stag.

Estraven's... er... The only animal ever mentioned in his canon other than generic edible fish is a pesthry, and not much is said about them except that they're sort of like white lizard-weasels or something, and are good to eat. Not much like Estraven, really, and I'm having trouble thinking of any EARTH-critter that would suit him, either. He's got too many layers. Trying to declare him to be similar to any ONE animal is as essentially wrong as trying to fit him into the category of male or female.

Much... would be... a dog. Yes. A dog. Even though he doesn't like them. He IS one.

Megara's would be a serpent.
