Wherein Liz Administers A Beatdown - No, Really.
Liz walks into the bar, feeling rather out of sorts. For those who are just tuning in, after the rescue mission into the Dreaming, Liz and Morpheus remained linked. A bit of Morpheus resides in Liz (and all you pervs can just shut those gutter minds off right now), meaning that the two know random information that the other has never shared, will occasionally use the same signature gestures, and generally act more like the other. Dream is now more human than he's been, and Liz is more sedate and reserved than before. They can also share certain experiences, like strong bursts of emotion... or intoxication.
So Liz comes in, feeling the effects of Dream's raging drunk. She makes her way to a table, black rose in hand as with the previous night before Liz's mun zonked out completely.
Will waves, but he's busy chatting to Merriman. Peter is around, but has this silly impression that Liz would be upset or inconvenienced if he went over. So he doesn't.
Todd, however, does. Liz is not exactly thrilled to see him. They chat for a few minutes about Liz's black rose, and Todd asks to sit. Liz puts the kibosh on that, and Todd stays standing. Todd references the scandalous strip poker game, asking if she'll play, and an unamused Liz shoots him down in rather insulting fashion. Todd tries to cover, and Liz corrects his grammar. Todd is unappreciative of the lesson, insisting that he's right. Liz is Austenianly snarky. She's getting increasingly pissed with Todd, both for present and past behaviour toward her. Todd tries to push Liz to speak her mind, and she is properly vague in her answer. Todd asks her point-blank if he has offended her. We'll pause here for just a moment.
At some point during this conversation, Anthy has caught Liz's attention from by the fireplace. She comes over and starts baiting Liz to wear the rose. Liz doesn't take the bait immediately, instead asking Anthy about the various shades of roses. Eventually, however, Anthy gets back to business. Liz finally is talked around to wearing the flower, and asks Anthy for a pin. Anthy provides, and Liz sets about pinning on the rose. Cue ominous music here.
By this time, Will has finished his conversation with Merriman and joins the group. Todd introduces himself, and the two boys briefly talk about England and America and other such things. Anthy and Will have a staring match. Will wins. Liz chats with Will very briefly about readjusting to life after the Dreaming. They don't get very far, however, as Liz has finished pinning on the black rose.
Quickly - the black rose, when worn, allows the wearer to act upon the first suppressed desire that comes to mind, and allows them to do so without remorse. At the moment, what Liz wants to do more than anything is strike back at Todd. So, she does just that, swinging a fist at Todd's nose. Will is startled, Todd starts to dodge, and Liz kicks at Todd's groin while still swinging her fist. Because of the dodge, she only connects with Todd's thigh. He grabs her wrists, trying to subdue her, and leaves himself open. Big mistake. She kicks him directly in the groin with her other foot. Todd calls Liz a little bitch. Liz is proud of this, and takes a swipe at Todd's face with her fingernails, looking to draw blood. Todd ducks and grabs a chair for defense.
Will tries to pull Liz away, but she refuses to have any of it and throws him off, warning him to keep away. Peter joins in the chaos, and is entirely in favour of Liz beating Todd into a pulp. There's a man who can appreciate strong women. All hail Peter. He even heckles Todd. All hail Peter more. Anyway, Will doesn't listen, and plunges back in. He can sense Dark in Liz's actions. Anthy and Ares just look on with amusement.
Liz is still acting like a wildcat. She nearly rips off Todd's shirt, and he moves to slap her. Quoth Will, "Aw HELL naw!" Todd is coldly rageful. Will doesn't care. Liz is ecstatic for Will's help, and takes the opportunity to try to strangle Todd. Will grabs her wrists, while Todd grabs her hair (ow). Liz tries to break free, but can't. So she turns into a dove instead, unconsciously using the Dream link and accessing that bit of his power in her. Dove!Liz pecks Will and Todd, Todd moreso, and makes for the nearest rafter.
Everyone watching has a "Holy shit!" moment. Dream arrives, summoned by the use of his powers, and coaxes Liz from the rafter. Liz agrees in a birdlike way, and is handed over to Peter as Dream deals with Todd. Todd is bold, Dream is unimpressed. Destiny is summoned to show Todd his future. Destiny complies: It's simple, really, as Todd has no future.
Dream departs, probably to snog Moiraine. Ares and Anthy chat. Will does what he must, according to Dream. Todd can't cope, and leaves for his world, trying to convince himself it's a dream. Destiny scoffs, thinking "Suck it, biotch." And Peter takes Liz back to his room for the night, since he can't get into her room in the House of Arch. It all sounds rather explicitly sexual. Or not.
