Something Positive insanity, part two of what might only be three (but then again...). This isn't even all of one sub-thread - though I suspect it's most of it. Or at least half.
Part one of the summary is here.
Something Positively Insane, part two
PeeJee introduces Tim and Aubrey (calling Tim 'cute emo guy'). Another case of slang confusion later, Tim asks if it's time for sobering drinks. Tim and PeeJee rehash the too drunk/not drunk enough conversation, and PeeJee assures Tim that his looks will get him through life. Tim refills her beer (all fancy-like!), and PeeJee asks if he's sure he's not Harry Potter. (She'd also like to be a High Priestess of Beer.) The meaning of the term 'jailbait' is discussed, as is the use of sharp objects. Tim's under-18 status bails him out of the lapdance - for now, at least. In a testimony to Milliways continuity, Jane is mentioned in the thread before I get to her entrance in this summary.
Tim tells PeeJee about Aubrey's enchanted mug; she'd ask for one of her own, but already gets free beer. Tim also offers magic lessons (having briefly mentioned nasty things the bar staff can do to rowdy patrons, if necessary), but PeeJee declares the 'mad midnight bomber' technique to be more her style.
Tim wonders whether the girls will be able to leave the bar, and brings up the fact that a lot of the patrons (himself included) could be considered fictional by others. He then attempts to be subtle (though PeeJee's full name may not have been the way to go with that tactic), and PeeJee starts sobering up.
Because you all must read this exchange:
PeeJee: Where do you know me from, and... did the world actually end while I was drunk out of my mind?
Tim: Uhm, no, it wasn't destroyed. From what I know, it's on daily updates right now...erm... its a web comic.
All things considered, PeeJee takes the news fairly well. (Especially once it's mentioned that the creator bribed his fans to get that daily-update thing going.) But she's still pretty weirded out. Tim suggests, since that's the case, that she either get a room or try the door. In what I suspect is classic PeeJee style despite relative unfamiliarity with the comic, she goes for option three: talk to Aubrey. Tim starts in on the variety of people Milliways gets, and mentions his issue with the Harry Potter variety of wizards. PeeJee decides that variety thing might be worth hanging around for - but on the other hand, boyfriend. Tim suggests a solution or two to that. XD
He proceeds to check which year PeeJee and Aubrey came in from. Another classic line on the night from PeeJee: "I feel like I'm in a bootleg episode of Star Trek." Tim corrects the fandom, and PeeJee goes gobsmacked. Tim trades PeeJee silence on some things that got discussed for an ever-full bag of chocolate.
