An Idea For Halloween

Hi all. Hallowen is coming, and I wanted to offer something new.

There was an episode of Frasier where the good doctor invited his friends to come as their heroes for a Halloween party. He came as Freud, his father was Joe DiMaggio, etc. It was a good episode, and offered a bit of insight into the makeup of the other cast members (which I leave otherwise unspoiled in case you want to see it).

I got to thinking that it would be a great idea to try this for Halloween. Have your pup dress as, or be costumed as by Bar, his or her hero. For example - and this is canon - Kirk's hero is Abe Lincoln. So he'd wear a stovepipe hat and (if the Bar was feeling silly) be taller. I won't actually bring Kirk into the Bar, though, as we wouldn't learn anything new about who he is. It could be more interesting to select one pup you have and surprise everyone (maybe even the pup) by figuring out who is the one true hero of the person.

I also would like to find a way for pups to make a conscious choice, to be encouraged to dress as their heroes rather than be zapped and not quite get it. That could mean a party with a theme. Which I couldn't possibly run, since I will be lucky if I can play much that week due to what will be a busy stretch at work. So if anyone has any suggestions as to how to implement this, I would like to hear them.

Thanks.

ETA: I almost forgot one thing. If your pup would want to dress as an active character in the Bar, I would highly suggest that you contact the pup's player first, to avoid any misunderstandings or canon puncturing.

That's a niiiice idea. But also involves a lot of brain racking on my behalf. I have no suggestions on how to implement, because I am that useful, but I just thought I'd say it r funeee idea!

Matilda would end up dressed as Raymond Stantz, without a doubt.

I love this idea to itty squishable bits. *thumbs up*

Which, you know, fine with Ray. Although he'd probably turn some interesting colors of red in the process, but he'd be fine with it.

*glees*

This plot may actually get me playing at Milliways again! Joy! XD

Sounds like an excellent idea. Especially with a themed party. Maybe if a couple of muns could collaborate so not just one person's overwhelmed?

I may or may not have Truman involved with the dressing up, even though canon pretty much gave us the answer to how he would dress up. Namely as Magellan.

Perhaps a party at SARAH's, with SARAH as the White House?

Ahaha! Oh man, Josh would freak out. Thus, I think this is a fine proposition.

The Prez in my head also approves of this idea.

The Congressional candidate approves of this idea.

John Adams approves of this idea!

Please do tell Mister Adams that you are not allowed to dress like yourself!!(I mean, who else would be his hero? Jefferson? Washington? Franklin?)

:)

I do like this idea, but I was really looking forward to giving Larry hell the usual Halloween madness, since I actually have a costume in mind for that. Maybe do both things at once?

[identity profile] leeshajoy.livejournal.com 2007-10-08 03:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I do know that several of the ReBoot muns are coordinating costumes...

I'll probably do this to/with Suzi, but I'm afraid that Spoon is still doomed to spend a day as yautja on the outside. He'll be all chittery!

Gah! Too many options. Could go for the funny, or the obvious or the realistic.

Let me send something out to the Bartending Staff and see what we can't figure out.

It does look like SARAH will throw a party, but if she and Mikey (or is it you and Steph Muji - I forget who's real and who's not) want to work as one, please do?

I'm the real one, Bing's the figment of my imagination.

SARAH would need help setting up/food acquisition and that sort of thing. :D?

Shall I? Shall I?

The John Byrne Era was weird. Nice to look at, perhaps, but weird.

That's actually Simonson

[identity profile] gammagammahey.livejournal.com 2007-10-09 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
That's not Byrne, it's Walt Simonson doing his version of Thor!Shulkie for Sensational She-Hulk #50, when Frank Miller, Wendy Pini, Howard Mackie, etc. all did their iterations of Shulkie.

I'll, um, take that as a no for the costume thing.
