So you feel like bustin' up some vampires
(Totally because
last_the_month doesn't have Backroom access)
Alright, so how many of you have read "30 days of night?"
How many of you have seen the movie starring Josh Hartnett (which despite his presence was actually rasonable?)
How many of you like the idea of gettin' your inner vampire slayer on?
I need Two to four volunteers who have experience battling the supernatural and can take a cold-weather climate. If you've got other plots to worry 'bout or things you want to get done first? Don't fret. This is the ideal plot for the "I'm busy at college" or "I'm busy working" rper because I too am...well...busy.
This'd probably be three-to-four major ooms in length and require a week or so to complete (when I last did the math) Although there's the opportunity to do some major damage if you want to affect your pup in such a manner.
What I need are Two muscle-for-Hire types and an expert in Lore who'd be willing to head to Barrow and investigate the vampires. The easiest way to have the storyline play out? There are twice as many vamps as there should be in Barrow, making it a hell of alot more dangerous.
The only problem is your character would need to be gone for at least a week if not more. Eben is convinced that the easiest way to keep people safe is to hide from them not to mention these vampires are stronger then they look.
What you're up against: Twenty Five to Thirty individuals with power, wealth, beauty, and endless hunger. You can stake a buffy vamp, but the only way to take out these guys is to seperate the head from the body or drag them into sunlight. Not to mention that one of the vampires has been turning townsfolk, so you'd probably have to help protect the remaining eight townspeople (out of 152) from their own.
Gore? You haven't seen anything yet. These guys don't just drink blood they devour flesh and enjoy it.
Slowtime is a must.
Intrigued? Have questions? I'm here! :D

I believe this pup qualifies. She's protected from cold by her Nth metal, and she'll smash the shit out of vampires if she can get close enough. She has flight as an advantage, and she won't mind getting banged up/realistically injured in the process, either. She's experienced in all kinds of supernatural bizarreness, and brings to bear the kind of Frontier Justice⢠that could perhaps only be matched by giving Attila the Hun a machine gun. In other words, send her out into the trenches and protect thy face from blood spray.

This might make her an intense target and this particular strain of vampirism is passed on via scratches and bites. How would she deal with that?
Question.
Kendra has five thousand years of combat experience to draw upon. She's been attacked, when alone, by a horde of ravening magically-animated zombies and successfully fought her way out, leaving a trail of bloody carnage behind her. She's fought against the legions of bloodsucking undead before, too. The last magical vampire entity that got in her way wound up being cloven in two vertically. But on the other hand, she has no inherently grandiose superpowers other than greatly augmented healing ability (she's survived impalement and partial evisceration easily) and augmented strength, speed, and senses from her Nth metal, so she's vulnerable to impact blows, of course, but much less so than your baseline human.
And believe me, she'll be armed for bear. If the only way to kill them is decapitation, she's bringing swords, knives, flail and/or mace, and every single bladed weapon she can get her hand on and still be able to move with when it's strapped on.
Question: for purposes of this fight, how much of 30 Days of Night canon are you incorporating vis a vis vampire vulnerabilities? Are you deeming that the only way to kill them is decapitation? Will splattering vampire brains fifty feet with a mace work? Because some of 30DON canon shows that the vampires can be killed with explosives, etc.

Alternatively, there is also Roxton
Both of these guys are your muscle for hire types.

If he'd actually be able to affect anything as a ghost, I again leave to you. *cheerful* Your world, your rules.

The bad news: He's next to useless in physical combat.
I don't suppose you'd have any use for a gimpy seer with a strong background in various forms of magic?

I dunno how good Tom is at decapitation, though. Headshots from a distance are more his speed.
Hawkgirl and Tom, Vampire Hunters
Don't worry, she'll totally save him if he gets caught, too. :-) Or vice versa, I hope! Kendra doesn't use guns, so she'll be mightily impressed when Tom whips out the shotgun and starts sending vampires straight to their maker.
Re: Hawkgirl and Tom, Vampire Hunters
*smacks him upside the head*
Okay, we're good.
. . . What the hell, throw Tom's name in the pot. A plot for those busy at college sounds just about perfect. :D
Re: Hawkgirl and Tom, Vampire Hunters
I'll bring you goggles to protect your eyes from the wind. I'd hate to have your eyeballs shrivel up while we're flying close to Mach 1.
I've never dropped anyone by accident, either. Now, as for dropping them on purpose...
*cough*
((BAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH.)

I am preliminarily intrigued, anyway. :)
