Daily Entertainment.

It's cold.

*hates on impending winter*

Odin! He's ten years old, I think. He might be nine.

We have another dog named Thor, also a German Sheppard, three or four years younger. He's almost completely black. *stops herself from prattling on about her dogs*

Kitties! Our last cat got along quite well with the dogs, once they learned not to mess with him. You can't see it in this picture, but Odin still has scars on his nose from where Olaf showed him who's boss.

And my dad is the one who names all the pets, hence the names. He got to name my brother and I, too. *wry*

We had the dogs first. No, that's not right. We had Odin first, then rescued Olaf out of the tree (he was an alleycat at heart and made sure we never forgot it), and then got Thor. We also had a female cat for awhile, and she had kittens while with us. The dogs were very good about them, and though we made sure to watch to be sure nothing happened, they mostly ignored the little fuzzballs. We gave the mother and kittens to an adoption organization when they were old enough.

It must be nice to name animals like that. The names I can remember, in order of having the pet, are:

Ragnar - Lab mix, named for the father Viking in The Vikings (movie)
Fenris - white Sheppard, named for Loki's wolf son
Loki - Sheppard, named for the trickster god, Loki (he lived up to his name)
Ivar - Samoyed, don't know who he was named for
Odin - Sheppard, named for the top Viking god, Odin
Thor - Sheppard, named for Odin's son, the thunder god

I think I love that you named a cat for Rhett. *grins*

*amused* I love cats. I love dogs, too, but they rarely have a personality the way a cat does.

You should have met my dog. She played practical jokes, managed to escape from every fence we ever owned, and when she was very young would go out and play tag with the fawns in the field.
