(no subject)

I can't remember if I ever made a backroom post about this last year or not, but as he did last year, Father Mulcahy will be holding small Christmas services for anyone interested (in a room upstairs). This is particularly in mind of folks who are dead or otherwise Bound, but anyone is welcome; the number and sorts of services will depend on the denominations/preferences of folk involved. I should have posted this earlier, actually, because he would have made the offer for folks celebrating Hanukkah, too. I lose! Anyway, I'll (he'll) be posting up an IC notice at some point in the very near future.

Last year, it was handwaved; I'm not quite sure about this year, as it'll depend on what kind of time I have. It may be handwaved, it may be played, I might just write a quick summary post -- I'm not sure yet. It'll also depend on the amount of interest in something like this and how many people would be involved. Interest?

There is a pretty decent chance, I think, that Kaylee would go.

...and considering that we've Millicanoned that Christmas and Chinese New Year got conflated in the future!!!!, I have NO IDEA how to characterize what kind of religious system Kaylee falls under. The closest I can get is Universalist -- but she'd be okay with a Christian service, whether Catholic or otherwise. Is the main point. WOW, I need caffeine.

Haaaa that would be fantastic.

Also? See below.

Also also? If you tagged recital post, it's not appearing. D:

.... that could be REALLY fun.

Gabriel would remember Mulcahy, and Gabriel is still sorting things out. He'd be interested (and in part because it would not be in the 'verse where people would observe or see -- and then oh hey look, surprise!).

I am not coherent, but I am definitely curious!

...I almost want Mal to go.

I'm not sure if he would turn and leave if Kaylee were there. Maybe. I have to ponder.

Cyrus is, I think, a lapsed Catholic - goes with the name. But he hasn't met the preacher yet, might not take too well to going to church, and is played by someone who knows something about Catholicism but not much.

Which is to say, I think the dean would attend just for the heck of it.

Kate would certainly be interested in any sort of Christmas mass or Vigil one, and likely be there with Will since both Catholic.

Nathan Petrelli is very lapsed but he might find himself attending anyway.

That would be it of my pups I think since the rest don't follow anything or are that devout.

Though I have an idea that in an OOM, Will might take Kate to a small church in Nottingham or Sherwood for the Midnight Christmas Mass so might end up doing both.

Oh, I've skimmed this like a hundred times when checking the flists, but only just realised -- yeah, Desmond would probably hit that up. More out of nostalgia than anything, but still.

(I keep having to ask myself "okay, who else is actually from Earth?")

If I happen to put Sam in fairly soon, I think she'd go. It's still summer in her world, but like a good C of E vicar's daughter she'd go right along with a Christmas service. ^_^

I think Charles Wallace might like to go to that. :D

I think Renfield might go, out of curiosity.

Sariel would definitely go, though I'm not exactly certain what twentieth century religion she'd fall under. She'd be perfectly fine with a general sort of Christmas service, that much I know. :)

John would so go. Expect him.

Huh.

You know, I'm pretty sure none of my characters are Catholic, but -- I am now very very curious as to what Mulcahy would say if someone asked him whether someone who's dead could take Communion.

Doc will go if there is a service, definitely.

As for religion preferences, Doc's probably considered a mix of Catholic (lots of Irish influence) with his own sort of 'faith' in Native American gods and such, but he would definitely attend anything.
