The 'more than you ever wanted to know about me' version.
I went to a party Sunday night, in an area of the state I'd never been in before. I made a wrong turn and, MD being such as it is, hit a pothole at least a foot deep -- deep enough and at a high enough speed that my bumper actually hit pavement. I remained unscathed and drove home.
Yesterday morning, I turned on the heat in my car, and there was this very disquieting whirr sound. Loud and reverberating, this sound did nothing to calm my nerves about driving a car that is not-slowly approaching its final days, but the car was running so I drove to work as normal. In the afternoon I went home early because I was feeling unwell, and called ahead to make sure my brother the car guru would be home so he could take a look at it.
He woke me up fifteen minutes after I got home out of my NyQuil-inspired nap to show me the pair of chewed-up pliers he had extracted from the region surrounding my air filter, offered a 'My bad', and went back downstairs.
...How's you?
ETA:Meeting in ten minutes, be back soon. Back!
