Heads up -- brief hiatus needed - and note

As of this thread, Teja is gone to St. Louis with Asher for a few days; he has left a general note here.


I have recently moved, and there are simply lots to. And today something happened that made it even worse. Apparently, the movers used the wrong fixing on a cabinet in my new flat, and it came off the wall when I started putting china in, and my favourite Russian Lomonossov china broke, and a sort-of china shrapnel hit my foot, and there were lots of blood, and Thomas the Metropolitan saved me, again, for the second time in two weeks, by helping me get on top of the mess, taping my foot shut, and being a witness for the now inevitable insurance mess.

Also, I got the notification from my ISP of choice, telling me that my connection will be installed in mid-March.

That means I won't be back to my usual times before that; still, I will be online every day, but all evening past midnight, as I usually do.

All in all, RL is being a bitch, and I need to take something of a semi-hiatus here.-

The bloody bastards had expected the cabinet to come off -- the moment I called, the bloke on the phone came over all defensive and knew immediately that it was a plasterboard wall, and they had used plasterboard fixings, and of course you do that with a plasterboard wall, yadda yadda...

Yes, I should send the pictures, no problem, he'd send them on to his insurance. I did send them, and a description of what happened, cc.: his boss.-

It was the end of the day, they just wanted to go home, and they either had no hollow wall fixings (that would have held, Thomas the Metropolitan said) or those would have taken longer, so they just put it up and left it at that.

Nah, that is going to happen to Lucifer when I get the little black one, later in spring or in early summer.

Lucifer looks a lot like the large ginger one in that picture. And I insist on a black tom for a second cat. I hear mixing genders isn't good in cats unless they are litter siblings, especially if it's just two cats, not more; and I want to be able to distinguish my cats immediately.-

Definately a good idea - my friend/future flatmate has two cats who are black and white, and the only distinguishing feature is that William has black patches over both his eyes, and Fraser has a black patch over only one eye.

Makes it bloody difficult to tell which is which...grrr.

That is why I am insisting on a black one, and that is why the picture I linked for Saph is a vision of my future.
