Anyway~ So I want to know...just how obsessive are you with your pups? I swear, I'll hear a song and can instantly place it with one of my characters...or I'll see a picture, hear a snippet of conversation, and it reminds me of one of them.

Usually it's Inyri because I don't know...everyone likes writing songs about emo emoness where girls are abused and drugs are done. Is that in or something?



Alternatively: Dragon*Con. Who all is going and what costumes are you doing? I'm doing two different Allana costumes (lol 6 foot four year old? yeah that's me), possibly a Zombie Mara costume for the Star Wars Zombies costume group, and most likely Pepper Potts.

(And who is excited 'bout IANTO coming, eh?)

I don't think I am that way with my pups. I love it when something reminds other people about them, but my mind works in different ways.

And I think that Dragon*Con would eat me alive. I don't do well with huge crowds for that long.

I realised I had a problem when I started attributing Bohemian Rhapsody to Mel.

Mel's the big one. I will link everything to her. Even when I'm trying to be all about other characters. And for those who know I have two versions - it doesn't matter which. F'r instance, I had this song which I thought'd be perfect for Jason/Hana - actually, that's not a Milliways ship, but anyway - and it turned out to be about Mel/Zuko from elsegame.

Um. But yes! I obsess about my pups all the time! Especially Mel. But I think, given my cuirrent level of obsession, I think it's now inevitable Dinah Lance WILL be a June app.

Mike, who I snagged for entirely selfish reasons, has taken over my brain. Or...maybe he just blended right into a background that was already there, I can't decide. Perhaps it's six of one/half a dozen of the other. Either way many things remind me of him, especially music-wise. And well...I'm always on the hunt for "strange and unusual" things for him to say. I find Torchwood helps.

I too will be at D*C this year, though I haven't bought my plane tickets yet. I should do that...

Erm, I have lots of purple things because of Asar-Suti, and I often wear a small pewter battle axe onna string...

To say nothing of the big poster of Brandon Lee that I have on my kitchen wall, showing basically the picture of which this icon here was made. To be honest, I only have it as a stop-gap because the picture I meant to hang in that place is currently being used to cover the holes left when the cabinet came down in the bloodbath after I moved.-

As for songs, I'm preparing a Teja playlist. As soon as Thomas the Metropolitan gets one certain song extracted from MySpace, the list will go up on box.net, and will be linked from appropriate locations...

I wanted to go and was hoping to but that weekend is my dad's 70th birthday so there will be a big party and I won't be able to. Oh yes, I'm that way with Will though its kind of filtered through to me having a small James McAvoy obsession too.

Demeter has got me looking at plants in a different light, which is nice but also she's got me looking at Bruce Willis in another light. She's strange but in a good way.

If I was doing a costume, I'd probably try either Will since I actually already own a basic medieval shirt and the rest of the outfit might not be too hard to put together.

Though hopefully since I can't do Dragoncon, maybe I can get together a group in August for the PA Renn Faire which I used to go almost every summer when I lived in Swarthmore, I miss it, I even have a dress.

I have never ever been to a Renn Faire. I've been in Civil War reinactment camps, Revolutionary war reinactment camps...D*C...but never a Renn Faire. So that's awesome.

The highlight of D*C the last few years for me has always been sitting on Harris Street between the two hotels and watching the PARADE OF CRAZIES wearing ARMOR AND WOOL. And watching the Atlanta PD trying to maintain order while staying utterly bewildered.

I am quite happily fifteen hundred miles away this year, and will not be attending. And probably wouldn't have been attending even if I was still in Atlanta. D*C is not my cup of tea, to put it very, very mildly.

As for obsessive question: when I drove out to Colorado, I forgot my birth certificate... but I did pack, very deliberately, costuming elements for gonna_live and salver. JUST IN CASE.

Jenny and two other friends of mine, Sarah and Linh, were in the parade last year as Doctor Who Companions.

Cati and I, very tiredly, said "sure sure, we'll watch."

Got out of bed and went to the balcony and watched the Star Wars portion and the Who portion and then went back inside to play with phones and sunglasses and cameras. Pffft, outside :P

Well now this pup and a Certain Someone Else' is making it very difficult to watch the news. Not to mention all the ads I've seen for Anderson Cooper 360 on the sides of buses make me think "SUP PAUL...what're you doing with a camera?"

Meaning: yes. I am very obsessive with my pups. In fact I had the joy of inwardly squealing because one of my OTP songs came on the radio. Granted, this was a classic R&B satellite station so you know I'm totes cooler than all y'all.

If I were going to go to D*C or another geekcon, I would go as Monkey (in the red and yellow). Cracked out muttonchop sideburns and all.

Or possibly I would work out some way to go at the Tenth Doctor, which is who I'm aiming for for Halloween. >.> Although I think making my hair look like David Tennant's has in the last few eps would be sort of traumatizing. (The man is turning into a cockatoo, I swear.)

Obsession is for the weak! I never obsess. Not even a little.

Like Bill Pardy, for example, does not have me craving Coke over my beloved Pepsi and did not cause me to change one of my car presets to the local country station. I do those things on my own.

Nor do some of the songs on said station come on and I go 'awww' because it reminds me of some thread he's done and it kills me.

I do not prefer Baby Ruths over other candy bars because of Hellboy.

I did not contemplate stealing a Pat Garrett sheriff badge in a pawn shop the other day because buying it wouldn't be Billy's style.

And, I have not ever growled at customers who've pissed me off or called them 'bub'.

If it were fact, though, and if by chance I did obsess over my pups I blame Bill as the worst and the others as bad influences all.

Me? With some characters (I play a SLEW of them outside Milliways (and I swear I want to APP THEM ALL)) I will break into IC talk when writing OOC things. Like, say, take my Poirot (greymattersmost. I can not write any kind of OOC post or message or anything without it looking like a) it's Poirot!narrative tiem nao! b) this text here? Poirot's voice. All the way.

Because, for some reason, he is entirely too easy a voice to slip into, especially if I am playing him at the moment.

I don't always get that way with pups, but sometimes, I get the same weird thing going with Lorne. I'll be IMing or LJing OOC with another player or buddy and out of the blue, I type something typically Lorne. Not to the extent of the Poirot infestation of my brainmeats, but... Yeah.

Mostly, it's just fun. Sometimes, it's cause for wtf-ery.

I swear, these days, it doesn't matter what music I hear, I go 'Hmmmm. Would Lorne like this? Yes. Yes, he'd think this was fabulous!' Edith Piaff, Glen Miller, 50's, 60's music, Ella Fitzgerald and Nat King Cole, Rammstein (yes, Rammstein would be fabu for his new night club), and every last little song I hear on the radio! FABULOUS! DARLING! MUSIC!

And there I'd go, with the Lorne-speek, albeit in my tiny mind.

1. Preeeeetty obsessive sometimes. uh. I have been known to buy stuff that a character would like/costume pieces a character would wear just in case I have the need to play them in live-action form, which was fine when I was still in live-action games but a little silly when I just play online. On the other hand, if a costume party ever breaks out around me I am set.

2. Almost definitely going, and the costume plans aren't completely finalized yet, but I think I'll finally finish the Snow Maiden one I started six years ago and haven't touched in ages (just to get it done), and I want to do a steampunk automaton version of Marlene Dietrich's character from the Blue Angel, because a) robots are awesome, b) it'd be a lot less overheated than my last year's robot costume, and c) saying 'Lola-Lolabot' is fun.

1. Pretty obsessive. Bella and her insane family have gotten me reading books on academic infighting in the nineteenth century, studying the history of Heidelberg University, and listening to tragic Italian opera. Not that I wouldn't have read about some of that anyway, but Bella gives me an excuse!
