I noticed recently that there is no OOM community for general Marvel Comic characters.

With the festive Skrull carnival that is going to be this summer, I thought it would be a good idea and so I made

marvelways.

Now we can avoid those awkward "Oh my god it's a skrull!" "No I'm not!" moments. Or we can make sure that they happen.

I'm really doubtful either of my boys are Skrulls.

...though that might explain the sudden and inexplicable change in costume Eric had between his own title and The Initiative.

Nothing against Eric - and I'm basing this only on what I have seen of him here - but if you were going to pick key super-heroes to replace and use to take over the world, would you use him?

Never mind that they already gotten Hank Pym, IIRC. How many shrinking heroes does anyone need to replace? (Not a big Marvel reader but I try to keep up.)

...Though maybe the Skrull think shrinking heroes are like Pokemon. Gotta catch them all!

...oh god, I just realized what this 'Pym is a Skrull' business will do to poor Cassie Lang's brain.

I think it is going to be interesting to see what effect the Skrull Invasion is going to have with Milliways.

I am especially looking forward to Herc once Sacred Invasion starts up.

I am heading to a comic shop today SOLELY because I -have- to pick up the new Incredible Herc issue.

I probably won't make it in until later this weekend unfortunately.

I swear when Ben comes back he is going to be less awkward and more fun. There is just too much potential for Herc and Ben high jinks that must be explored.

Herc was practically made for hijinks. And he and Ben could prolly get along well... though I imagine Ben probably thinks Herc's a little obnoxious.

Any chance of a Ben-Herc charity rematch (maybe with Shulkie waiting in the wings), to benefit the Bar's various funds?

Oh man. I am so all for that.

I think the prize for the first match should be the honor of facing She-Hulk in the ring. = ]

Well, you do realize that we could announce the match IC and have throngs probably watching, right? We could do a three way for charity...er, that sounds ALL WRONG when I type it out like that.

Ben vs. Herc vs. Shulkie in whatever configuration - man, they charge money for that, they'd make $$$ for the Millicharity of their choice.

As I have it set up now, what Ben found was "a natural amphitheater with a sheer wall of granite which soared hundreds of feet" so the actual size of the amphitheater can be adapted. = ]

Plus, it has the advantage of being on bedrock; so the shocks of titans being thrown to the ground will rattle the audience's teeth but not break the stadium. = ]

Well, the way my email reader split this line "have throngs probably watching, right?" I first read it as "have thongs..." and that's not any better. = p

Add in the fact I almost said "Well, at that rate, I think Ben and Herc would have to double-team Jen to have a chance"...

We had a movie Johnny not long after the first film, and he didn't last long.

Yeah, I remember him -- I wasn't sure if he just died off or was actually deleted, so I checked the cast list and it's the latter. Which means someone else totally needs to app him.

Ben likes not having a Johnny around though his Mun must admit that having Johnny in the bar would make things very entertaining. It would be even better if it's movie Johnny or Ultimate Johnny.

The Match for Cancer was recent: the Herc vs Hulk one-shot, that was out recently.

I'll have to get me hands on it then.

For purely research purposes of course.

All I know is that Narya (Snowbird) kicks some MAJOR amount of ass in this issue, according to what I've seen thus far!

Ah but what about Peter? he's an ultimate pup.

I don't see why Peter can't hang out in

marvelways until more Ultimate heroes show up.

I think it’s my way of expressing hope that the Secret Invasion will be written well enough and complicated enough to need an OOM place to compare notes between characters.

I have no illusions this will be the case. I am sure it will start out well enough but the end will disappoint just as all the other crossovers have been written.

Oh, I think it's a marvelous idea to have a general Milliways comm for Marvel people. Right now there's just one for Marvel mutants, IIRC, but we're getting more and more non-mutant characters, so a comm is needed. Hopefully maybe that will catalyze more Marvel pups to interact with each other and maybe even plot! :-)
