Today is Ingress' 9th birthday! Each year at this time, I've cooked up some fun way to celebrate the day. This year, I failed until I realized that tomorrow was a holiday for me, and I could actually do something for it today. I thought, okay - I can do a little party! Yay, fun!
But then, as Sunday wore on, I realized that I didn't exactly have the energy or desire to keep up with a bunch of birthday party threads, especially when I've done similar birthday party threads three years in a row.
I wanted to do something for my birthday girl, though. So I thought and I thought, and then I came up with a cool idea. Friends and teachers of Ingress are welcome to come to Ingress' Sunday afternoon birthday party in the House of Arch. One of the residents or Ingress herself will handwavily escort your character in if she/he/it doesn't have access. (This isn't the best time for meeting new folks, of course.)
However, the trick is, there will be no threads. If you would like your character(s) to attend the party, you need to post a new comment to the main entrance post with a drabble/ficlet/what-have-you describing a moment with Ingress at the party or something about Ingress through your character's eyes at the party. If you need an example, I did one with Tom.
I trust the muns of her friends and teachers with gentle godding of Ingress; if you've played with me, you know what Ingress is likely to do and say in a party situation. If you want to run something by me before posting, just send me an e-mail at vivien529 at aol dot com or ping me when I'm on AIM tonight. I'll more than likely enthusiastically encourage you to post whatever you write, but I'm also happy to give feedback or help with Ingress voice. It will be a treat for me to see how she's seen by your characters.
