ways_back_room | The Breaking of Bruce

A few days late, but important nonetheless.

Death appears in the bar. Bruce walks over to her and Dionysus's note to her appears. Bruce asks where his parents are. Death says they are with her. Bruce asks if he can have them back. Death says no. Bruce wants to know why not. Death says that is how things work and that the dead should stay dead. Bruce breaks.

Bruce starts hitting Death as Raph walks into the bar. Raph tries to restrain Bruce, who switches over to beating up on him. Raph decides to take Bruce outside. Death warns him not to hurt Bruce.

Raph carries the flailing Bruce outside. Bruce accidentally kicks Raph in the groin. Raph drops him into the lake. Death, who has followed them, pushes Raph into the lake. Bruce swims over to Raph to apologize and breaks more. Raph brings them back to shore, where Bruce sobs all over him for the rest of the afternoon.

Bruce finally cries himself out. Raph is saved from trying to figure out what to do by the timely appearence of Snow White. Bruce tells her what happened, and then clings to her. Snow thanks Raph for taking care of him. Raph reveals that Bruce managed to bite him during the fight, and they go back inside for first aid. Snow fixes Raph up, and Angie comes over. Snow and Bruce make their exit, leaving Raph and Angie alone.
