So, the hellish existance that has been my trying to move into my apartment?

Not over yet.

My phone line was supposed to be hooked up yesterday. 9 PM, I finally call AT&T (because I had free cell phone minutes, and I have used SO MANY MINUTES trying to get everything sorted out) and say "I have no dial tone."

"Our computer says you're hooked up."
"Well, I have no dial tone."
"Did you try unplugging the phone and plugging it back in?"
"Yes. I tried a different phone jack. I have no dial tone."
"Let me try calling you."
...
"Well, that's didn't work."
"Nope. I have no dial tone."
"Let me run a test on your line."
...
"Okay, we're going to have to send somebody to fix it. Do you know where the phone lines come into the building?"
"No..."
"Okay, they'll find it. We'll have somebody there by.... Wednesday at 6PM, at the latest."
"Erm. Okay."
"We have a lot of stuff to fix from the storm."
"Right. Fine."
"Anything else I can help you with?"
"No."

.....arg. So, no internet in my apartment yet. Computer lab closes at 8:30 again tonight, so I shan't be in. Not sure what time it closes tomorrow. Monday it's back to 1:30... so I'll be in Monday sometime, at least.

Stupid stupid stupid stupid world.

Stoopid hurricanes and related storms - how dare they and the phone company bedevil your life so! Maybe a miracle will happen and they will come out sooner than Wednesday.
