Beach Dance BBQ Party

Not really a plot, but an idea the player of Hedwig Robinson gave: an excuse for socialization.

Drinks and food, dance and music, and have your pups chat and threahop and get to meet new people. I am tentatively aiming for the weekend of the 27th-29th to have the thread open, with provisions for Millitime and Slowtime ahoy.

Ben Winchester was drafted into organizating and searching for helpers and contributors.

*edited: yes, the party will start in the morning, maybe mid-morning, but it will go... well, as long as people can go. We can handwave lulls when the grill is cleaned, drinks restocked, trash picked.

Any chance I can get you to push it off a week as that is the weekend of the filk con Batya and I are helping to run? If not, it's not a big deal, but we would both hate to miss it, I think.

Oh, man, we haven't had a Lake Party in absolutely ages! One of my favourite Milliways traditions, even if it's usually bar-staff doing the organising, cooking, serving, etc. Although I would suggest, since they're always so massively popular (we broke LJ with our first one, back in the day), that the various posts - food/dancing/swimming/etc. - be left open for new threads for... longer than two days.

(Also, in future, please clear something bar-wide like this with your mods - that's what we're here for! Plus which, Lake Parties are traditionally something that we - and Bar Mods in particular - have organised and run, so it's a good idea to let us know in case we both end up planning one, or to check to see if one is in fact already in the works. Thanks.)

ETA2: Omg okay, I swear I will stop editing this comment in a moment. But! Since Lake Parties have always been so popular, something that we've traditionally done, and always found to be the fairest way of running them, is to take a poll of which of a few different dates/weekends would be best for the majority of players planning to attend. That way, as many people as possible can get in during the initial Crazy Fun.

Also, it would be at least three days. The post would go in the MORNING of the friday, as 'official' time. But that is what Millitime is for. The post is up on a friday, but we can just not mention names of week days, so it is happening... when your pup thinks it is happening!

I am thinking about volunteering Ben's Journal and section up the party:

SAND

WATER

Or it is okay to use the main comm? I would like to see it go HUGE.

I think that the main comm would see the most traffic, and that's where lake parties have traditionally been situated, though I am obviously not one of the ladies in charge to be getting permission from. :)
