Or Sam Winchester needs to get a motorcycle and kick some ass. (Sadly I can't find the link to the image, but it's pretty hilarious, because he still manages to look like he's riding a little kid trike since he's just Too Damn Big.)
I liked Sixth Sense and loved Unbreakable - the closest thing to a super-hero film for grownups only that we will ever get - but nothing he's done since sounds remotely worthwhile, and I keep wondering why the studios give him whatever he wants.
That said, he is a good filmmaker. I wonder what would happen if you took his directing skills and gave him a Kevin Smith script (Smith being the only other auteur I know of who keeps getting to do what he wants despite endless flops).
Right there with you, Alex. Except, of course, I loved Sixth Sense as much as Unbreakable, but that should surprise no one (no one in Milliways, anyway).
People have told me Lady in the Lake/Water/Whatever was good, but Signs and especially The Village really killed any interest I had in seeing it. I gave Signs another try a couple weeks ago and, if anything, I think I like it even less now.
I 'celebrated' the day with a great big Dentist Fail. Now my mind isn't working right on account of the stuff that has gone astray within me (first I was tired and snarky, then I turned wide awake and cheerful, found everything funny, and was far too nice to people), AND I have to go to the dentist's AGAIN to get the actual work on my actual tooth done.-

I loved Unbreakable more than all of the rest of them.
