Alright, first things first... is there an FAQ of sorts for tagging? Because I dunno how this whole thing works.

Also, it would be much appreciated if a Marvel dork could explain Cable and Deadpool's stories to me, because Wiki (and Marvelverse) is very confusing. Additionally, I want to know if a Deadpool fan would know about X-23, because if so, the pups should meet sometime.

Milliways overstepped LJ's tag limit by thousands before LJ implemented said limit. So, unless and until they rescind it for massive comms such as this, new characters get tiny tags. Basically, at the end of your post, stick the 'small' HTML tag on and add your character's name.
It's no linked tag, but it gets the point across.

(--Unless of course you meant tagging other characters, in which case... generally unless an entrance post says it's plot-locked or 'no new threads, please,' it's fair game.)
Also, if you want to keep track of your threads without the benefit of a tag, the memory function is pretty good for that. Harder to get total organisation due to the keyword limit, but you can save the links.

X-23 and Deadpool have never shared screentime in a title, and in terms of comics origin, X has only been around since 2005. So my guess would be a Deadpool fan would not know X.

Oh, but Cable & Deadpool only has Liefeld for a couple covers, and never the interior art!

Where would you like to start? I can type you out complete histories of both characters and how they fit into the larger universe, being extremely familiar with both characters, but if you tell me what you already know, that will save me some time.

I know that Deadpool was part of the same experiment chain that produced adamantium!Wolverine, and that he's got healing powers and some sort of cancer?

Okay, next question - are you asking for what your character would know about Cable and Deadpool, e.g. what is public knowledge of either/both, which would be very little compared to the character's actual histories, or the characters' histories regardless of what your character would know? Either way, I'm happy to oblige. :-)

Well, my character is a fanboy in that they have read pretty much every comic with them in... some tough shoes to fit into.
