Will's night

Will is first greeted by Jane, who asks him to do her a favor and send a letter to her family back home, so that if time is passing while she's gone they won't worry. They discuss what it would say, and then Will agrees.

Cordelia comes over and is introduced to Jane. She rather misinterprets what Will means by "a friend from his world." They talk of how they met, and Cordelia is not upset that no one else from her world is here. Jane goes to bed, and Will sets her straight on what Jane knows about him. Or doesn't know about him, rather. They discuss truth, tradition, and changing circumstances, and Cordelia reluctantly agrees not to tell Jane that Will is an Old One.

Megwyn arrives, and tells Will about Ingress. Cordelia recognizes her as "the not-a-horse," and reintroduces herself while Will pets Megwyn. Will and Megwyn discuss Ingress a bit more, and Megwyn leaves.

Meg Giry waves at Will and they discuss reasons why it's a nice day. Meg, who found out a day or two ago about Will's musically inclined family, drags him over to meet Tere. Tere asks Will to sing, and he does. Meg is impressed, and she and Will discuss shyness and drinking. Meg tells him about Bernard's promotion. Meanwhile, Tere sings for Will, and then sings again. They talk about Dionysus and adoration versus quiet happiness.

In an entirely separate continuity, Will and Liz wax philosophical. Really, really philosophical.

There are the usual pleasantries, and Liz says that she is well. Will is glad, and hints that he might know something of what she's going through. Liz asks about that, and Will tells her what an Old One is. Liz asks for more details about how he deals with living in two worlds, and with the knowledge that comes with it. They talk about knowing oneself. Liz creates a flower for Will, and the conversation turns to ugly handkerchiefs and Will's brother's lack of taste. They both go to bed after a reiteration of the standing offer of help and friendship.

'Continuity-shoehorning' is an awesome phrase. :}
