Daily Entertainment!

Happy Monday, Milliways! Or, well, as happy as a Monday can be, anyway.

Your question for the day, should you choose to accept it! I'm always curious, paging through the bar, as to what characters are wearing; a lot of the time, we don't tend to make a textual note of clothing, and not everyone puts notes in profiles on the subject. What can your characters usually be found wearing? (Or non-usually, should you so choose.) Is any of it completely and totally weird? Does any of it ever make you go, '...Oh [character name]'? Hairstyles are also fair game, if you want!

Liz wears all black, all the time, which I can handle, but she also sports a beret that I hate; I made a serious effort to crop her icons around it. I first started playing Plourr from where I did because it was the first comic in which she was fully bald, rather than wearing a fugly half-wig of braids that only covered the back of her head.

Gibbs and Kirk dress like you would expect them to, canonically. If I have Kirk out of uniform these days, I will say so.

Knox almost always wears business attire, button down shirts and solid dark color slacks, usually a tie not quite tired right. If he's in more casual clothes, I will note that as well. But Knox is one of those people whose attitude towards clothes tends to be not to bother with any variation since it's easy to wear the same thing all the time.

Cyrus has taken to wearing a lot more in the way of muscle Ts and sweats and things like that since he got Jack Dempsey's body. He's showing off more than is good for him. When he bartends, though, he still dresses in a nice shirt. The way he was as a dean is still with him, and he likes to look professional.

And Charlie...well, since most of his icons show him in his super-hero outfit, I have to state that he is or isn't dressed that way. So sometimes he's in fairly casual wear, sometimes in something suited to a workout, and sometimes in all of part of his gear (a business suit, coat, gloves and fedora as well as the faceless mask). Even though he's not actually doing super-hero stuff anymore, he likes to dress that way sometimes just for fun. It's a super-hero thing.

I'm always curious if Charlie is wearing the mask or not! (I probably don't read EP's closely enough; I have a bad habit of skimming.) Does he wear it pretty regularly? It's so crazy-looking!

Max, Byers, and Ouranos are usually in very nice suits, unless otherwise noted.

Liz wears jeans a lot. And dressy shirts.

Krycek is, like your Liz, an all-black kinda guy.

I'm... not really sure what Nick is usually wearing. I suppose that after being in a bar with so many people from the future for so long, he dresses more like someone from the 1990s would, than someone from the 1920s. Maybe.

Frasier is usually in a suit, but sometimes he wears sweaters or polo shirts. He will more than likely always be in dressy pants, though. >_>

Monk has been surprising me lately with not caring about what he's wearing. He wore JEANS and a T-SHIRT and BOOTS, MAN! I was shocked. But that was also canon.

I was so bewildered for a second, when I read 'Liz.' COMMON NAME, LEXIE.

I just tried to picture Frasier in jeans, and my head exploded, a little bit. *giggling* Though I have the same reaction to Monk in jeans, and apparently he wore them! I'm not up on current Monk canon at all.

Mel wears trousers - usually comfortable ones, often combats - with tight fitting T shirts and shirts. And for some reason, on the last page of her canon, a very clearly product placement in the form of red Converse. I have decided she has a love of antique footwear. Her most prized possession is probably a pair of Authentic 21st Cen wheelies.

Dinah wears loose, almost baggy shirts and trouserswhen she's civvies and therefore in the bar. I think it's because she invests so much of her physical self esteem into being blonde, that she'll only wear 'sexy' clothes if it's the Black Canary outfit. She'll get over it inabotu 15 years time when she finally bleaches it.

Will wears the clothes he died in, with the addition of his MANLY PIRATICAL BANDANA, and with the shirt open to show off his MANY PIRACTICAL SCAR. Funny story: when the second and third movies were in negotiations, Keira said she'donly be in it if she got swordplay. Orlando said he didn't want to wear those stupid shoes and white socks ever again.

All of Karolina's clothes are vegan. I don't care if canon ever gets it wrong (I don't think it does), but it's all cotton and hemp, baby. Even her shoes aren't leather. (Which makes me the only person to 'approve' of her footwear choice in this pic)

Francesca dresses in clothes suitable for an 18th century man. She's not in drag: her hair is down and she doesn't try and disguise the fact that she's a woman, but she doesn't really approve of 20th century clothing and she doesn't like dresses. So: compromise!

Death wears a cape woven of Absolute Dark.

I love your justification for Mel's product placement! The reasoning behind Will's costume (and Elizabeth's sword-fighting) made me crack up, too; that's fabulous.

Aw, Dinah. She's a brunette and only wears the blonde wig as Black Canary, right? How long has she been wearing the wig, if so much of her self esteem is wrapped up in it?

(AUGH CROCS.)

Eric O'Grady is often in his Ant-Man suit, which... okay, should be pretty singular, but for some stupid reason it changes looks completely when he moved to being drawn in Avengers: The Initiative.

Barney Stinson is always wearing a suit, unless otherwise indicated. Because... he's Barney.

Hercules is always wearing his sash/skirt/sandals combo. Because he's Hercules. And he enjoys the freedom of non-bifurcated garments.

Stark's clothes are never really of note... but he always wears the mask!

Cassie... okay, as a 14 year old girl, she's probably way more up on hip clothing than I am. So I don't even try. (especially since playing dress-up for a 14 year old fictional girl is kiiiinda creepy)

Jack Carter is usually in uniform. So... ta-da there.

And finally, Hurley. Hurley doesn't have a ton of clothing options. He's trapped on a desert island. So he pretty much wears what he has.

Only manly men wear skirts. *solemn*

Man, I'm a girl, and I don't really know what's hip for 14-year-olds, either. Jeans and a cute T-shirt are always a mainstay? As a side note, I giggle every time I reread Armor Wars and see Cassie's cameo as a tiny, tiny little girl with some kind of horrifying culinary concoction.

Ray sometimes wanders into the Bar in his Ghostbusting uniform; I usually make a note of that. When he comes in wearing civvies it's usually a T-shirt, often one with the company logo on it, but other times the Silver Age Green Lantern logo, and a pair of cargo pants. On very rare occasion he comes in wearing an actual suit, generally because he's fleeing Congress for some reason. If he has to wear his Jedi outfit (Val Wiggin made it for him and Master Qui-Gon gave it to him years ago) I make a point of explaining why.

Harry Wells tends to wear nondescript work clothes in olive or green or brown. Career military leaves a mark. Annie Wells tends to dress in dark blue and wear long skirts.

Belar wears either fairly traditional Mongolian nomad garb (blue and turquoise and marked with bears, I should note) or relatively Western-looking harsh weather clothing (again, blue and turquoise and marked with bears; he's like that).

If Gordon isn't wearing the HEV suit he's only got two choices for clothing: jeans and an MIT t-shirt, or jeans and a charcoal grey T-shirt with the circled lambda on it in orange. He didn't bring any clothing with him to the Bar other than the suit, so he's only got what turned up in his drawer the first night he slept at the Bar otherwise.

Ironhide and Bumblebee don't wear clothes.

Commenting because I didn't want to make the actual post GINORMOUS. I think about this a lot, and wind up making note of clothing/hair choices in posts when it makes sense to.

Liz, as mentioned, wears all black. In the first movie, it's more sort of -- free-flowing, hippie-ish, and always fully covered. She's covered from toes to wrists and neck; the only time you even see her arms is when her clothes have burned off and she's got a giant curtain wrapped around her. She likes oversized sweaters that she gets lost in, loose skirts, and giant stompy boots, but you also see her in some pretty sexy Prada in one scene (thank you, DVD documentary) and the aforementioned hated beret. Her hair is always down, to allow her to hide behind it. In the second movie, she's totally military-looking; skinny black pants, black T-shirts, the same stompy boots, a gunbelt, shorter hair -- it's all more about fit and practicality. She's sort of in between, in Milliways.

Hawkeye and Father Mulcahy are usually in uniform, though it's not unheard of for Hawkeye's to involve his bathrobe, a kimono, or a pith helmet. I get asked this a lot -- it's sometimes with a black collared shirt and sometimes with just a green T-shirt, but Father Mulcahy is always, always wearing a cross, visibly. He's usually wearing either a green cap or his favorite white hat (which was technically stolen by Jack Sparrow a while ago, but I'm saying came back to him somehow, lalala >_>).

I really try to make note of Plourr's clothes, since it's either one extreme (dressed for being an empress!) or the other (dressed as a former pilot!), and they would ostensibly get different reactions. I've tried to make up a weird sort of royal fashion aesthetic based off of the clothes you see from her planet in the comics, but it's hard because it's all so weird. It's heavy on the purple and adornment, and jewelry, and her hair is usually down. Her casual stuff involves more trousers, boots, loose tunics, vests, flight jackets, and flightsuits, and often a blaster. It's a bit sexy, in the 'I am very competent and could totally kick your ass' kind of way.

Riley's just come into a lot of money, and is spending it on stupid things. Some of these stupid things are suits, blazers, hip T-shirts, and way-too-expensive jeans. Maya wears her uniform, always; it's in layers, but the main things are the trousers, the boots, and the long greatcoat, belted at the waist. Dennis is either in security guard uniform, or jeans and a T-shirt. He's a little bit slobby, as a general rule. Rhodey is not slobby, but also usually in uniform (one of several) or jeans and a T-shirt, occasionally paired with a leather jacket.

An awful lot of mine wear uniforms. Iella's either in her CorSec uniform (which I am vague about because the only picture reference is canonically wrong about the colors, and the design is ugly) or something simple, understated, practical, and elegant, even if it's casual. Typically, that means something along the lines of a tunic and trousers combo. Tycho's either in flaming orange flightsuit or trousers, boots, a tunic, and a flight jacket.

... *possibly thinks about this stuff too much*

Except, RE: Liz, I forgot about the part of Hellboy where she's in the institution, when she wears the inmate ... scrubs? Uniform? Not entirely sure what to call them, but they're maroon, the only time you ever see her not wearing black, and I think the sleeves only reach her elbows or so, so you do see part of her arms, til she puts on a sweater. But I don't really count that stuff, since she didn't exactly choose it.

[identity profile] candied-rabbit.livejournal.com 2008-08-11 01:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Momiji is, by far, my most clothes-interested pup. At least on most occasions, he's in his school uniform...which, ah, happens to be the girls' uniform, albeit with shorts instead of the usual skirt. The rest of his wardrobe is all sort of in that vein - either childish or girly, with emphasis on frills and funny hats and long socks. He's also had a tendency to wander around the Bar in pajamas. He's kind of half-facepalmy and half-adorable like that.

Ganymede sorts of falters between modern looks - jeans and t-shirts and the like - and classical tunics and such.

Dahlia wears standard, high quality, somewhat fashionable outfits of a wide variety.

Soren wears black robes and cloak, with gold trim. All the time.

Aschenbach dresses in your standard, nineteenth century, upper class-though-not-ostentatious garb, the details of which vary on the day.

Yuki is usually in his school uniform, as well - a blue-gray set of pants and shirt with dull, purple-ish tie - and the rest of his wardrobe isn't far off from that.

Artemis used to wear business suits a lot, but now he can usually either be seen in a polo/fancy trousers combo or dress shirt/fancy trousers combo. Generally something like this (http://www.burberryusaonline.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3182066&cp=2119967.2478245&parentPage=family). And canonically he wears red Armani boxers, lol!

He's the one that usually makes me go 'Oh Artemis' in terms of clothing. Just cause when it's described in canon (ie. Gucci, Armani), it probably costs more than my whole wardrobe put together and he's just so not kid like.

If not in his (movie-version, for easier describing) Hogwarts uniform, Scorpius wears very proper wizarding robes, most likely long, black, and buttoned up to the neck - actually this (http://enozym.deviantart.com/art/S-Malfoy-60663390) is a good example of what I see him wearing a lot.

Also, I can't shake this image of an older Scorpius, ie. 15ish-Scorpius because I think about these things, wearing sort of cut-up black biker gloves with the proper wizarding robes or even his Hogwarts uniform. He'd never ever wear them in front of his parents/grandparents though. Ever. His rebellion is a quiet one?

Revan sports the tunic look these days. Kinda like what we see lil' Zayne Carrick from the KOTOR comics wearing in this picture (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Image:Zayne.png) except for, y'know, an adult.

Billy, natch, spends most of his time in a superhero costume. It's got a lovely cape that I'm pretty sure he stole from Vincent Valentine.

There's an issue or two in canon where I'm pretty sure he's wearing his boyfriend's shirt, because the shirt in question is a jersey and Billy is sooooo not a sports person. It gives me much lawls.

And, um, right now he's in his pajamas. Because the door appeared in his closet, and he thought to grab a weapon, but not a bathrobe.

I'll take tomorrow's DE post, unless someone else feels passionately about claiming it. Just putting that out there. (I won't be able to post until 9:00 AM EDT, though, because I'm on the West Coast.)

I like Liz's beret! In comics canon, Liz seriously spent years looking like Gothy McGotherson - if anything, once the films came along, I'd start in surprise every time she showed up on screen wearing any other color.

She-Hulk frequently - although not always and not so much since the entire Marvel Universe fell apart last year - wears something purple, be it her actual clothing or an accessory or even lingerie. This is a deliberate homage on her part to the purple that her cousin Bruce wears. Shulkie's frequently had purple in her costumes, too - in fact, her new working wardrobe is VERY purple, with purple jeans (they must be made of Reed Richards' unstable molecular fabric, because they take serious punishment and don't fall apart) and a variation of her old purple and white maillot one piece underneath.

Sadly, any part time stuff she does for Zed and the MiB probably won't stop her from wearing a bit of purple. :-)

Okay, now, seriously, look at Kendra's costume. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v372/orophinsgloss/Hawkgirl/104-11.png) HOW anyone can miss a bright green, yellow, and red costume is beyond me - surely, she's the loudest member of the JLA costumewise. It's like she's got a huge sign nailed to her chest that says "Professional Do Gooder - HIT ME FIRST in case of brawl!"

Kendra almost always has weapons with her of one kind or another, and they're often big and make noise. I try to vary it from the iconic mace, because she actually doesn't always carry a mace in canon, and she usually wears more than one weapon. What's weird to me is when occasionally people don't notice that she's armed to the teeth, but half the time that's probably due to my inadequately describing what she's wearing at any given moment. I'm always so wary of delving into descriptions of clothing, though, because I don't want to bore people. :-)

Thus far Kendra has always worn her costume in bar. I'd really like to bring her in without her costume, but that would mean without her mask, and I'm not ready to have any other Millipatrons see her face yet aside from Clark, Tom, Goldy, and Eirene. (And Babs and Dinah, of course, who already know who she is.) One of these days, though, she'll walk into Bar with her civvies on.
wakeupnew: Joshua Chamberlain staring into the distance, with caption "brains are sexy" ([misc] hold to the last)

[personal profile] wakeupnew 2008-08-11 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I am not a beret person. XD The idea of her in any color freaks me out; I haven't read enough of the comics yet to judge for comic!Liz (though I have yet to see anything for her that isn't, as you said, Gothy McGotherson), but I can't see movie!Liz wearing anything but black. Unless some crazy situation really called for it. (And even then, she would hate every second of it.)

I am sure Zed would love all of his agents to wear all purple, all the time. *solemn*

See, that is exactly my hang-up! It's helpful for people to know what characters are wearing, but a lot of the time, I worry about throwing in too much description or being boring with all that clothing description that I figure doesn't interest anyone but me.

What kind of thing does Kendra wear when she's in civvies?

I usually picture Green!Jack in the outfit he's wearing in his default icon: a green button-down shirt and jeans, and work boots. He dresses like somebody who spends a lot of time outside.

1941!Jack is usually in civvies now: jeans and sweaters or button-down shirts, or the occasional t-shirt. He has his uniform for special occasions.

What Ianto is wearing depends on where he came from: if it was work, a suit; if it was downtime, jeans, cotton shirts, denim jackets.

Unless I mention it otherwise, Elle's usually dressed for work, which means a nice blue (low-cut) blouse, black slacks or a knee-length black skirt, maybe a jacket (but not so much in Milliways), and black or blue heels. When I do describe her clothing, it's usually because she's wearing something more casual, like a black or blue t-shirt or tank top (or this shirt) and jeans. We don't really ever see her wearing something like that in canon, as she's always doing something work-related in canon (or on the outside in general), and I figured she might dabble a little outside her work-wear when she's in the Bar, as it's kind of like a break and/or place for extra training for her.

Well. *Grins* Jack Harkness wears this getup (http://farm1.static.flickr.com/130/397947275_b51fa70a11.jpg) all the time. He switches out the items when they get dirty or destroyed or whatever, but they always equal that outfit. And he's practically surgically attached to that coat.

Havelock... In bar he usually wears plain black or dark grey, very simple and plain. When, very ocasionally, he wants to visibly be an assassin, he'll wear the true black gear, complete with hood and gloves. It's very dashing, because the Guild honestly thinks that style matters on missions of death.

This (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/images/n1/n7866.jpg) is from the cover of one of the early editions of Sabriel, and shows her in armour and surcoat with the sword and bells. In the bar she is usually a little more casual than that, probably in a dress with divided skirts, but she always wears the bells, and usually a blue robe with the silver keys pattern. Her hair is usually loose unless she expects to be fighting, but it doesn't come much past her shoulders in any case.

Harth is a jeans and t-shirt kid. Dark colours, mostly. Summer shades make him look washed out. *Sage nod*

Nico dresses in ornately goth costumes that she makes herself. (Somehow.) They tend to be more practical than they look, as are her spiky hairstyles. Even the scary stillettos - ask Victor. >_>

Shelley dresses brightly and neatly in 21st century clothes, and occasionally in suits with skirts for work.

Man, if I had a coat like Jack's, I would probably be surgically attached, too.

I hope that Nico's clothes are more practical than they look; I've only read the first volume of Runaways, but I definitely went, '...You look awesome but HOW IS THAT GOOD FOR FIGHTING?!' a lot.

You know, at some point, I would love a thread with Harth. My Mel doppleganger has been warned about him. :D

Ace: Ace prefers trousers over skirts, but if she has to wear skirts, out come the very design-heavy tights. She also seems to think that garishly-colored ties make excellent belts. She adores stompy boots.

And her coat. Her leather, oversized, overdecorated coat. I don't think she'll ever give that up.

Wedge: If he's not in his orange jumpsuit, he's in the black downtime one. If forced, he can rustle up a white shirt/brown trousers/brown vest ensemble, but... jumpsuits are easy!

Glorfindel: Likes things with lots of embroidery. Lots and lots of fancy embroidery. And shiny things. The elf is a jackdaw, I swear. Only he would but a ton of tiny little silver bells all over his horse's gear just so it makes a pretty sound when they run.

Scaramouche: Wears a black dress she made herself (and it really shows - hem lines seriously aren't her thing), and the return of Big Stompy Boots. She's just trying to be different than the Gagas with their pastels.

Robin: He's a traditionalist - green hat (with a dashing red feather), Green tunic, green shoes. We hope there's green trousers, but the artist didn't draw that, so... yeah. So not going there.

Jack Spratt: He wears a suit for work, though somehow it always ends up looking very tired by the end of the day. We can't imagine why. >.> I'd imagine (because the books don't show much downtime) that he'd wear jeans and a ratty t-shirt on his off hours much like many 40-something males who are the despair of their fashion conscious wives. It's comfortable, and he likes that shirt stop throwing it away.

Romana: Now here's a girl who likes fashion. With a TARDIS wardrobe at her disposal, she takes full advantage. Good luck catching her in the same outfit twice.

She also adores hats. Hats are absolutely brilliant things.

genarti: Knees-down view of woman on tiptoe next to bookshelves (she's so bright)

River is pretty much always in some kind of sundress or shirt-and-skirt combo, often with a lacy sweater over the top. If she's wearing a skirt -- and sometimes she wears pants, but it's really not often -- she's got black biking shorts underneath it for modesty. Often, but not always, she's wearing Roland's brown duster. She likes bright colors, especially reds and pinks and purples, and fluttery cloth and patterns. Either she's barefoot or she's in big stompy black motorcycle boots. I describe what River's wearing a lot; I think it's because I'm visual to start with, and then she's from a visual canon, but also because River's so tactile. She's not really aware of fashion, especially, but she is very aware of the feel of cloth and what's underneath her feet. And her hair's always long and loose, and frequently could use a brushing. It's never pulled back, and if someone tries to braid it or put it up it'll be only a minute or two before she starts pulling it back out absentmindedly.

Regan I don't necessarily describe in much detail, but she dresses very nicely. Flats or low heels, tastefully tailored clothing, nice fabrics. I try to toss in multicultural influence to go with the general Firefly aesthetic.

Piotr is in civvies rather than his superheroing uniform unless I say otherwise. Civvies for him generally means slacks or jeans, a button-down or t-shirt or sweater, or sometimes a sweatshirt -- tidy, but casual. (I have it as mental Millicanon that he does not, as a rule, buy expensive clothing. This is partly training from his childhood on the Communist collective farm, and partly because it's really really pointless to buy nice clothes if you split half of them any time you get startled or attacked by supervillains.)

Lan wears, uh... High Fantasy clothes. *wry* Shirt, trousers, boots, maybe a jacket if it's cold. The only ones we really get much detail for are his fancy clothes, so in general I try to avoid being too specific about the cut of them, because I have no idea. The general color scheme is greens and browns, though that's flexible. I do try to specify if he's wearing his Warder's cloak or not, because that's very eye-catching; it's in magical camouflage patches that shift and swim, especially when he moves or the wind blows it, so it makes him blend into the background very well. Oh, and he's always, always has his sword, and has a braided leather band around his forehead and holding back his hair.

Honey's mostly in the Ouran uniform, unless it's a weekend. I haven't brought him in in non-school clothes yet, but I will probably be kind of vague when I do, because I don't have a great sense of his fashion sense. (Well, except in the manga, where everyone's is horrible because the artist really likes drawing layers and different patterns, so everyone ends up in 17 layers of fringe and stripes and plaid.)

For now, 494 is usually in grayscale camouflage pants, military-issue boots and a plain gray t-shirt which doesn't cover the barcode on the back of his neck. When he starts venturing more and more into the outside world, he'll take to wearing loose jeans, a leather jacket or, horror of horrors, something with a high neck. Hoodies! Turtlenecks! The things Dark Angel makes Alec wear can be truly hilarious at times. Good thing Jensen has experience modeling and takes it all with generally good grace. Or something. (If you know any of his stories about modeling, such as the backless-shorts-on-a-college-campus incident or the Superman pajamas incident, the DA wardrobe is quite good, on the whole.)

Josh Lyman pretty much always is in a rumpled but nice-looking suit. Nice-looking in that it's not cheap. He works at the White House, after all.

Matt Albie, it depends on the day of the week. Seriously. Early on, he's in super-casual mode, but as the days get closer to Friday, he starts looking nicer. The day a show goes up, you're always wearing a suit.

Prometheus generally looks disreputable, with scuffed boots and tattered pants and a beat-up jacket of some make. His hair is never presentable. He's like Joe Flanigan, in a way.

Mr. Gumby is pretty much always in his gumboots, shorts, suspenders, sweater vest and handkerchief on his head, unless he needs some other accessory to determine which profession he's going to represent today (doctor, professor, man on the street, high clergy, &c).

Scar and Gromit have no need for clothes.

Satine and Lady Macbeth always look fabulous, with plenty of jewelry and well-made dresses or business suits or whatever it is they need to be wearing. They never look anything less than red carpet or press conference quality.

When he's got the coat off his gloves reach up to his shoulders and he's wearing a wife-beater in black, gray, or white. The boots go up to his knees and are trimmed in silver. He's got hakima for pants.

His hair is dreadlocks except for the four bits at the front of his face, those are straightened bangs. He has earrings in both ears, a regular hoop earring through a silver hoop stretching the hole out.

Spoon should NOT BE ALLOWED to pick out his own clothing (see icon). That said, he's usually in some form of trousers with cargo pockets, a button down shirt with at least one pocket on it, and a T-shirt under that. He's usually in short sleeves although if he's feeling self-conscious about the scars or he has to go somewhere full of humans (other than bar) he'll wear long sleeves to hide the worst of them. He's got the nearest human equivalent of Predator hair he can manage going, with his beads being about equal parts gold from before the fall of Troy and platinum that Axel gave him for great causing of heart attacks. He wears his wedding ring on his hand most of the month and on a very long chain when it's close enough to the moon that he's afraid it could get broken if he lost control. Oh, edited to add that Spoon's boots are not only stompy boots, they're the boots from his yautja armor and thus made out of dead Alien.

Lissar wears a variety of perfectly normal modern things under the white coat that Demyx took her to get. When she has the coat open or off it's usually her Halo shirt, her Autobot shirt, or any other T-shirts she's been given. She doesn't like to wear shoes and is usually barefoot. She still has her deerskin tunic and every now and then will wear that because it is simply more comfortable than anything else. She's gone out of her way to avoid formal clothing and intends to continue to avoid it until Optimus makes her be public for her family.

Suzi has all the taste of a magpie on crack and so when I EP her it's usually with a full description of what she's wearing. About the only rules are it's got to have no longer than elbow length sleeves and her shoes are completely ridiculous. Usually bright red. She likes clashing colours, and patterns, and things (like beads, or lace, or whatever) sewn to make interesting patterns so that Whistler can enjoy her clothing as much as she does.

Hel wears very simple dresses with aprons on. She's really big, and only has one fully functional hand. Sewing anything more complicated would take longer to do than it would to wear out.

Fury wears either his purple armor or regular street clothing. It depends entirely on where he is and what he was doing before he got there.

When Munch comes in, he's usually wearing his typical work clothes: button down shirt, dress slacks, sports jacket and tie. One of these days I'm going to have to EP him in his dress uniform, just for the hell of it. It'd make for an interesting Happy Hour...

Speedle half the time comes in wearing casual dress shirts with his jeans, and the other half wearing t-shirts. Both are typical of his work clothes.

Malu typically wears Air Nomad robes in the yellow and orange color scheme, although her skirt is shorter than the nuns usually wore. Because she isn't an Airbending master, Malu doesn't sport the blue arrow tattoos and the front half of her head isn't shaved.

Smellerbee dresses like a boy, in boy's armor with her hair cut short.

The only clothing Rennes has to his name is the beige jumpsuit from the Cube. A nametag with his last name on it is helpfully stitched over the left breast pocket. His boots are relatively new, since the originals that came with his uniform were used to test for traps.

Dani's usual outfit consists of a hoodie, either her blue one or a black one with the DP logo on the pocket, and jeans. And her red stocking cap.

Poor Molly Walker, when I Bound her way back in February, was in her school uniform. Fortunately Bar has provided her with "normal" clothing (tee-shirts, sweatshirts, jeans, etc), which she enjoys wearing much more than the uniform.

Lily's wardrobe depends on how much the wizarding world's perspective on Muggle dress has changed in 19 years. She's too young for wizarding robes just yet, so she usually wears whatever passes for street clothes in the wizarding world. Since her father was brought up in a Muggle environment there are definitely more Muggle influences on her clothes than other wizarding children.

Klara, when she left Milliways, dressed in clothing deemed "proper" for girls her age in the early 1900s, namely a skirt and blouse. She also constantly wore a red cape. Once in the 21st Century Klara's wardrobe has been updated to more modern looks, but she still keeps to the dress code of skirt and blouse. And she still hangs on to her red cape.

[identity profile] naelwyn.livejournal.com 2008-08-11 04:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Random fly-by comment, but I've always figured wizarding street clothes to be exactly like Muggle clothes, exceptinstead of things like normal pockets they're like near never-ending and/or there are charms woven into the fabrics to keep the wearer warm or cold, depending on the weather. Other things too, like clothes labels or graphics that change colors or such, stain prevention charms. Or when the wearer gets bloated, the charmed clothes re-size to fit comfortably. Just random stuff. XD

Angel's in drag more often than not, these days, to the point where I'd specify otherwise.
Morwen goes for a no-nonsense black robe - she has several of the same thing, per canon.
Carl... likes flannel shirts, from the looks of canon. XD
Larry usually ends up coming in from the museum, so more often than not, he's in the security-guard uniform. I specify anything else, though so far, that's only been Halloween, I think. (Granted, a Zoolander outfit is not his standard, so. XD)
Cata goes for black. Lots of black. Exactly what tends to vary a little, but... it's that assassin standard, you know.

Lorne almost always comes into the bar in uniform. Generally BDUs, so usually, he looks something like this. If he's been in the bar for a few days, he'll probably be in civvies. Jeans and t-shirts mostly. I should specify more often, but if I don't, it's generally safe to assume he's in uniform.

Teyla usually comes in in uniform (also BDUs, since she has no other uniform), but she's always wearing something Athosian, usually her shirt. If she's just been sparring, she'll look a little like this. Otherwise, it'll be something along the lines of this, with or without the coat.

Harriet, depending on where she's coming from, will most likely be wearing either her school uniform or her spy outfit.

Axel usually wears the Organisation XIII uniform coat (his version is skintight over the upper body and arms, except where the sleeves flare over his wrists and hands), along with tight black leather pants, and the uniform boots. He doesn't wear a shirt under the coat, which I recently discovered (much to my incessant glee) is canon. His gloves are opera-length, and unless otherwise stated, he's wearing them.

Lately, though, he's been wearing tight blue jeans, tight green t-shirt, a dark maroon hoodie, and knee-high Docs; it's an ensemble he and Spoon rummaged out of Ace's TARDIS when he needed a 'disguise' to help him hide from the other OXIII members. Not that it worked very well. <__<

Tegid: wears a blue cloak, blue pants, and a blue tunic. The tunic and pants are belted on with a leather belt, the cloak is usually kept on with a gold broach. He also wears a pair of leather boots.
