Jetball!

As of this thread, Milliways now has a jetball court, upstairs on the way to the guest facilities (unless upstairs rearranges itself again and it's now down the hall, around three corners, and past a poison-dart trap).

The door is round and convex; when you enter, be prepared to either fly, take a tumble, or slide down the wall, because the room is an enormous sphere (seriously, it's at least the width of a tennis court; we've had to invoke Milliways' TARDIS-like properties). One end zone is decorated with red (okay, washed-out pink) arrows, the other with blue swords.

Here is a video of a partial game, but to clarify:

  • It's usually a two-player game, but you can have as many people on a team as you feel comfortable with, bearing in mind the possibility of midair collisions.
  • The ball-launcher is activated at the start of each round when all players are in their respective end zones and holding reasonably still for four seconds. It will emit a warning tone, swivel to randomize starting trajectory, and then fire the energy-ball, which ricochets around the room and heeds neither gravity nor loss of momentum.
  • The players fly around on jetpacks. They're not the flaming kind; think of it as antigravity with movement controlled by air-jets.
  • The ball is caught in a scoop on (usually) the left hand and fired back out of a shooter on the right; the two are connected by a tube running back over the jetpack.
  • The winner is the first to score ten goals, unless otherwise specified.
  • Note that there is a small, fence-like net a quarter of the way down the rim of each goal, which the ball must be gotten past or it will rebound.
  • Equipment can be rented from Bar: jetpack, scoop and shooter array, and protective glasses. Special outfits are strictly optional but make you look cool.

Let me know if you have any questions or suggested additions, and I'll edit them in as appropriate.

Far as I recall the Library and Infirmary is up the stairs in the guest area.

Technically neither the library nor the Infirmary are public things, as they're both like not open to the public and out of Bar jurisdiction.

As far as I know the only corridor off the main bar is the Staff Hallway. There's the associative door to the House of Arch, the elevator to the garage, and then where SARAH sometimes attaches....

I could be wrong, and probably am, but the last I heard the library was invite only. Again, it's not under the jurisdiction of the the Barman so I don't entirely know.

A new wing off of a temporary door is fine by me, though the construction and maintenance of said new wing will be charged to Enzo...or whomever called it into existence.

(If it was Enzo then chances are good it'd be covered by Phil)

It was Belar. My apologies, Bing, I should've asked. But by all means charge it to him- he's good for it.

It's all good, and it's not like I'm actually keeping books or anything. That would involve math. Math is my kryptonite!

I for one think she should blame Joss Whedon.

What ever you've got in mind is fine by me, I just kind of need to know because Mike needs to know.
