Daily Entertainment.

As I go search for aspirin, here, have a topic suggestion from [livejournal.com profile] kotorjedi_amaya:

Pups' favorite Halloween candy? Or favorite Halloween-style monster?

If they don't have Halloween in their world, just focus on their exposure to it from Milliways, etc.

[identity profile] timjr.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 01:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Barney loves Tootsie Pops.

For the innuendo factor.

[identity profile] timjr.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I was always more of a Blow Pop fan, myself.

Especially the Watermelon.

Mmmmm.

[identity profile] timjr.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 01:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooooh, those are good too.

I try to avoid sweets, because I suck at portion control.

...this did not stop me from buying cake yesterday when my roomies had had bad days, though.

[identity profile] timjr.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 01:24 pm (UTC)(link)
It was supposed to improve their days!

...I was the only one who had cake, though.

[identity profile] shoeless-ed.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 01:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Ed likes pumpkinhead monsters! She actually dressed up as one in the Cowboy Bebop movie.

...I need to find a picture of that so she can be one for Milli-Halloween.

[identity profile] naelwyn.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 01:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Artemis doesn't really eat candy nor does he have a favorite monster, but he does celebrate OĆche Shamhna...er, but not by dressing up or going out for treats. (That should change, really. He's got his brothers he can go with now!) Instead, he'd probably concentrate on the more traditional things: the Colcannon meal and having brambrack and decorating the old manor and having a bonfire with the family.

Scorpius, on the other hand, totally loves Halloween! His favorite candy is pepper imps; seriously, what kid doesn't want to breathe fire? His favorite "Halloween-style monster", or dark creature in his world, are probably hinkypunks because they're relatively harmless. Unless, y'know, you actually follow their lights. But his favorite non-monsterish beings would be ghosts.

I don't think there's anything resembling Halloween in the GFFA? And Revan's exposure has been pretty limited in Milliways, as in he hasn't really tried any candy and doesn't really know of any "traditional" Halloween monsters? But maybe that will all change as the girls get older.

Shadow Night Festival!

It's an Ewok thing, though, so it wouldn't really have been around before RotJ.

[identity profile] artfowler.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
All the post-RotJ peeps have all the fun.

[identity profile] candied-rabbit.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Artemis going trick or treating sounds like it would be at least mildly hilarious.

I imagine it would be difficult to get him to dress up, though.

*envisions him going through a list of all the characters he can think up that would just have to wear a suit*

[identity profile] born-running.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahahahahaha this thought amuses me.

[identity profile] naelwyn.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
XD

"Artemis, what are you...supposed to be dressed up as exactly?"

"Stockbroker. Terrfying, isn't it?"

Knox will eat pretty much anything, even candy corn. Accordingly, he has a good mix around when kids come to trick-or-treat. And he was a big fan of the Abbott and Costello horror spoofs, so any costume that references them gets props from him.

Kirk isn't one for either candy or "monsters." He knows that sometimes the monsters aren't that monstrous and that people sometimes are.

Gibbs has had his share of monsters. Someone needs to introduce him to all that candy, though.

Cyrus was one of those people who liked to give kids really gooey Halloween candy when they would show, much to the consternation of his wife. He's a big Dracula fan, preferably the Christopher Lee version.

Charlie doesn't find monsters particularly interesting anymore, given the things he's seen along the way. He does like seeing what kids dress up as, though, and gives them Reese's miniatures.

Homestar Runner loves Halloween but cares more about quantity of candy than quality, which resulted in him getting a bag of whatsit one year from the Poopsmith. Hazarding a guess, he probably favors Circus Peanuts.

Mia doesn't care too much for Halloween, but that might change now that her halfiversary is in October. Her favorite candy would be chocolate frogs. And even before Halloween, she had a favorite monster that'd be perfect for the holiday: gorgons. (But she's tempted to ask if Pansy Parkinson counts...)

Nash doesn't know Halloween and has yet to experience it in Milliways.

[identity profile] mallory-grace.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 01:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Mallory likes roasted pumpkin seeds more than any seasonal candy. Other than that, caramel apples.

Bobby likes sweets, and free sweets are the best kind! It doesn't matter what type!

Rapunzel prefers chocolate. And Alex.

Hagrid likes Honeydukes Chocolate and Fizzing Whizzbees - any flavor.

[identity profile] kotorjedi-amaya.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 02:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Chell loves chocolate; anything chocolate, really. It was sort of the first candy introduced to her. She'd probably go for the Hershey's Special Dark bars. Her favorite monster would probably be Oscar the Grouch. (She didn't really have a childhood.)

I see Barney Calhoun as being very much a candy apple kind of person, because of memories making them with his mom as a kid. At this point, though, he'll take any candy you give him gladly. His favorite monsters IS TOTALLY LAMARR are ghosts. Because they're awesome, and totally less scary than stuff he's seen in real life.

John is a caramel sort of person, and also loves peanut butter kisses. His favorite monsters are probably skeletons. The silly jangly kind.

Teddy, I think, would love Warheads and pretty much anything that isn't grape-flavored, though I think he'd prefer the fruitier candies to chocolate and the like. (BANAH YOU ARE NOT ALLOW TO MAKE JOKES.) He likes... hmm. Zombies, probably. (Especially because he totally becomes one in an AU book.)

[identity profile] bluespells.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
LIKE HELL I'M NOT ALLOWED TO MAKE JOKES.

BWAHAHA.

Sariel's exposure to Halloween is mostly bar-based, as hers isn't a Halloween-y sort of island, let alone planet. She's not entirely sure what to make of the whole thing as yet; blame the random outfit changes for that.

I looked up Halloween at the Star Trek wiki I use (Memory Alpha), and it seems that while Kirk knew what it was, Picard didn't. How sad.

[identity profile] kali921.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, come on. Kirk and Picard are both so awesome that "awesome" is a poor descriptor, but it's Kirk. Of course he knows!

[personal profile] sdelmonte 2008-10-07 03:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Joss Whedon said it for me in a interview some years back:

Kirk or Picard? Well, Stewart, but yes, Kirk.

[identity profile] gammagammahey.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 03:05 pm (UTC)(link)
She-Hulk likes purple triple chocolate M&Ms and chocolate hearts filled with caramel and that one suggestively shaped blow pop that Tigra once gave her.

Hawkgirl doesn't have a big sweet tooth, but she does like those Lindt chocolate balls and anything with Batman's image on it so that she can taunt Guy Gardner.

Lockjaw would prefer a pot roast, thankyewverymuch.

Ray tries very hard not to think too much about Halloween. In his world paranormal activity starts rising around the start of October (although to his distress, the past two years it's started in late September instead). It peaks at sundown on Halloween, holds at that high level through the end of the Dias de los Muertes, and starts dropping through early November. It goes back to normal at the sunrise that marks the end of Nov. 11 and the start of Nov. 12- the end of Julian calendar Samhain. Halloween, for Ray, is basically a day of so much work and mass insanity that the only reason for candy is to provide glucose to keep him on his feet, and as far as Halloween-style monsters go, he's met more than a few of them in the course of his work. He kind of likes werewolves. Most of the ones he's met have been thoroughly ordinary people with fluctuating tempers and hair issues.

[identity profile] agoodshinkickin.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
There's no real canon for what kind of candy the turtles like....that I'm aware of at this very second.

But since I've only really done a slapdash sampling of canon in my play here at Milliways I will continue the grand ol' Make Crap Up tradition.

Mike really really really likes Fun Dip.
Seriously, flavored sugar that you eat with a sugar wafer? What's not to love? PLUS! It turns your tongue funny colors.

Raph really likes NECCO Wafers.
I figure someone out there should, and it might as well be him.

[identity profile] bluespells.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm with Raph. Especially the white ones. <3

[identity profile] agoodshinkickin.livejournal.com 2008-10-08 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
Truth be told, I really like those damned things too.
And while Raph would never admit it, the candy message hearts are damn tasty as well.

[identity profile] bluespells.livejournal.com 2008-10-08 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
They are! They're made of the same damn stuff, but somehow manage to taste different. Mmm, candy hearts.

[identity profile] sliceitwithwind.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Dilan didn't like sweets much - he liked fruit as his main source of it. Even's berry tarts were his favourite "sweet". Finding silly costumes with Braig was the best part of Halloween.

Xaldin himself mostly thinks of Halloween in terms of Halloween Town and even then the majority of his attention is on "Is Xigbar going to feed frogs to my dreadlocks again?"

[identity profile] bluespells.livejournal.com 2008-10-08 12:14 am (UTC)(link)

*snickers quietly and hums Sexy Vampire* *innoentlike, really*

[identity profile] candied-rabbit.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Momiji <3's lollypops, but asking him to choose a favorite candy overall is just unfair. As for monsters - probably anything that can be renders cutesy. Sheet-type ghosts might be a winner, here.

I imagine Yuki wouldn't be much for Halloween candy - maybe hard candy or tootsie rolls or something. Something individually wrapped and light. I think he'd be a Frankenstein sort of person.

Aschenbach doesn't need your decadent candy, dammit.

Dahlia's family doesn't get Halloween candy - or, at least, hasn't before. And probably would probably have some weird, Traveller monster in mind.

OOOoo! Candy question yay! *kills time before class*

Red is all about the Baby Ruths, that's canon. His favorite monster is the Creature from the Black Lagoon swamp monster type thing, that's millicanon as he's tried to set up one and Myers once.

Bill Pardy is all about the caramels come Halloween time. M&M's are generally his favorite, but during Halloween it's caramels, straight or on apples. Halloween-style monster would also be the fish-man, mostly because of all the monsters out there he's pretty confident he could take that one.

Puss doesn't actually eat much candy. I'm gonna say peanut butter M&M's, just because this is too damn cute and funny. As for monsters he likes Dracula, because his cape is very dashing.

[identity profile] bluespells.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Billy is a major sweet tooth. He is especially fond of chocolate and caramel, and um. Well, bodypaint, at this point. *eyes Stallways.* But it's really more about the amount for him, though he was totally the kid that would bitch if someone were giving out gumdrops. These days it's all about the gourmet candied apples. And Bertie Bott's Every Flavored Beans. Also! His birthday cake. Because Halloween is his birthday. And I'm sure no one is surprised when I answer 'Witch' to the second question; they're not monsters, he'll be quick to point out, but still!

Will's concept of Halloween is sort of odd, but he adores chocolate in all its forms and considers hot cider or mulled one a must. His only request for Halloween is no red, please.

Demeter is usually a little depressed during Halloween and off being nice to mortals.

Tumnus doesn't know about it yet.

The Pirate King, oh my, I think Halloween was coming back into prominence in his time and he's all for making his pirates dress in silly costumes and everything is better with sherry.
