Daily Entertainment
*skids into place*
Crap! Sorry everyone, today's been INSANE and I had no chance whatsoever to get online. Your very belated Daily Entertainment, should you choose to accept it, is:
If your character wasn't from their own canon, what canon would they be from and what part would they play in it? Bonus points for drabbles.
Alternatively: what do you like to put on pancakes? *random*

Alternatively, YA in the DC Universe would be an entirely different animal. They might be Titans, I dunno. I'm trying to think of the DC analogue to Scarlet Witch, and can't... so I guess Billy would be patterned after Zantanna. Which ah. Makes me giggle.
Steve? Probably some form of war movie. *nodnod* Or a sci-fi/political thriller.
I like butter and blueberries on my pancakes! No use ruining a good thing with excessive syrup.

Stephen Strange: Doctor Fate
Wanda Maximoff: Zatanna
Etc.

Arnold...He could be in Doug or something like that. It'd have to be a Nickelodeon show. >>
Also, the only good pancakes are plain pancakes. So says me. >|

:D
Ew, plain pancakes. I think, here, we're suffering from cross-Atlantic confusion, though. This (http://www.stmarymagdalensheet.org.uk/pics/pancakes2.jpg) is the kind of pancakes I eat.

She-Hulk is more difficult. She needs to be in a universe where a few hardy members of the human genome have DNA mutable enough to survive bombardment with radiation. I almost want to say Dan Simmons' Hyperionverse, but that's far too bleak for She-Hulk. She'd do fine in the DC verse, obviously, where she'd be right at home and and probably set up a law practice with Kate Spencer. Actually, given the incredible flexibility of Marvel, I think She-Hulk belongs best in the Marvelverse. It's kind of hard to top DC and Marvel for sheer longstanding crackiness.
Lockjaw? Lockjaw would be right at home anywhere. I keep wanting him to randomly show up on Lost as the Secret Weapon against the pain in the ass remnants of the Dharma Initiative.

Zeke would probably be from Prehistoric Park [if you ever saw that show], though.
BlackWarGreymon could be from any anime with monsters in it.
And the best thing on pancakes is real maple syrup, which is dreadfully expensive yet far better than that imitation stuff they sell and [IMO] mislabel as "maple syrup". Nothing else. Because I'm not terribly innovative with my flapjacks.
no subject
I never knew you could call pancakes flapjacks. Over here they're totally different things.

He would be from Rohan, of course, for the similarity of custom and language; he might be an under commander of Eomer at first, lose his home to Saruman's depredations very early one and hence be full of hatred; he would fight in Helm's Deep, adore Eowyn from afar, ride with the Rohirrim to Gondor, find Eowyn and Merry on the battlefield of Pelennor, then die in the last battle by the Black Gate, saving Eomer's life.

Teyla would be from an incarnation of Star Trek. Probably DS9, I'm thinking.
Harriet...hmm...I have no idea really.
And John is a Real Person. So if he weren't from his canon, he'd probably just be from the Real World. (Er...not the MTV show, though.)
As for pancakes? Apricot syrup. Homemade, preferably, and not too sweet. Otherwise, I'm generally a maple syrup girl. Or peanut butter.

Will, hmm, I'm not quite sure. I could see him in the world of Cadfael which is sort of his world just earlier. Also he would do rather well in someplace like Narnia, oh and in various DWJ worlds. He needs someplace with a touch of magic in it not huge just a touch.
I think Tumnus could work in the world of Percy Jackson and I'm not sure where else, he's so quiet.
Demeter is a goddess, she goes with everything.
Oh pancakes, I love the classic butter and real maple syrup and if there's something else involved I want it in the pancake, chocolate chips and blueberries are my favorites for that aspect. Also I'm home and well rested, so will now go write up various EPs.

*ahem*
And I imagine Jack as, say... The Middleman. Because I'm crazy.
Barney and Eric O'Grady could, pretty easily, swap positions in their respective universes.
Which leaves Hurley. Who would end up in some other equally bizarre world, like... Twin Peaks.

Loki would be awesome in a Shakespearean drama or opera. If you doubt me go forth and read the Loki miniseries (http://www.amazon.com/Mighty-Thor-Loki-Rob-Rodi/dp/0785128913/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1224610739&sr=8-2). In fact maybe I should post the series in
I like to put too many weird things on pancakes to specify only one but I like to dip my breakfast sausage in maple syrup.

As for pancakes, I generally just put butter on them. I have put peanut butter and/or banana on them in the past, however.

Whistler would be on X-Files, as an extremely specialized contact for Mulder or the Lone Gunmen or both, and would probably mostly work on wiretaps and bugs but have a side interest in electronic voice phenomena.
Sergeant Wells would not be on Buffy; that's too easy. Instead he'd be on Doctor Who as a recurring background UNIT type for great 'wait, don't I know your face from somewhere?'.
Ray could theoretically be in any number of other canons, including Danny Phantom (as the token sane ghost hunter) or the screen variant of Men in Black (I've never seen the cartoon and I've only read one issue of the comic, I couldn't say). I wouldn't put him in Delta Green or the Cthulhu mythos proper, though. Without having a comedy universe to fall back on he loses a lot of his ability to stand up to the horrors out there.
Not sure about the others. Gordon keeps asking for a very boring canon where he can be scientifically brilliant without getting shot at, but what's the fun in that?
ETA: Despite the user name, I have a hard time seeing Medic in the Firefly universe. He doesn't quite work.

Pomona... would be in a Robert Frost poem, I think. I'm not sure which one, but hopefully a nice one.
Scylla would be in Neverwhere, probably terrorising everyone who ventures too near to her territory and maybe hanging out with the Velvets once in a while. Om nom people are tasty.
Luke Smith...
...Is difficult to place. Probably Star Trek, though, TNG so he could hang out with Data. They would be awesome together.
And Bart, finally, has already been reincarnated in Heroes as Daphne. >>

As for my characters...Um.
Um.
I think I'm actually too tired to work it out. It's 5:30am, shush. Although I think I can see Dara in 24 or the like, as an agent no one knows if she's undercover or flipped.
*flails slightly* I don't know! Help me, guys, you are my only hope!
(yes, I've been reading too much Star Wars-related stuff lately, can you tell?)
ETA: *thinks for a bit more* My own qualm about throwing Esfir into Torchwood/Doctor Who would be that there's a chance she'd be Suzi - mechanical genius, but loses the sense of wonder for a sense of disgust. But on the other hand, I can't see Esfir not being around space/science-fiction-related-things.
...Actually, Esfir's a Time Agent. For an episode where you need someone tiny and pretty and too full of hidden GLEE and fiddling with alien mechanics to have any UST with Jack. At one stage, she will have to grab a spanner and start hitting an engine/computer until it works.
Medusa I could see being from the Night Watch trilogy as an Other. A mysterious old Other of the Light, from North Africa.
AJ's a double-crossing Bond-girl, alas.
Marlowe and Kore-Persephone have me stumped, although I think John Aversin would be in Buffy in some kind of geeky/researching/can-kick-butt-when-needed role.

....she and Sam could run around as kick-ass programs?
Um?
*facepalms*

Yunno? I, I got nothing. Probably another fighting anime. Maybe Negima! as a guy who provides exposition.

*Eyes The Brat and Weaves*
So I guess they could do that.
I mean, let's be honest here, the only thing that makes them really any different than your average "Happy-Go-Lucky" and "Brooding Tough-Guy" archetypes are the fact that they're anthropomorphic turtles.
They could very easily be:
Wash and Jayne
Starr and Bullock
Porthos and Athos
But I think my favorite comparison is the Robins' one.
The Loompas, on the other hand, are without a doubt Doozers.
no subject
Athos could do Robin Hood or other medieval type things easy enough.
Han would...well, that's a good question.
I'm not nearly awake enough to consider anyone else yet. *yawns and curls up*

As for Robin... hmm... something like Smallville maybe?

John would... probably do well with magic worlds, actually. Like, Gunnerkrigg or something. That or MacGyver.
Barney would like to go in a happier world. *thinks* He would fit in perfectly in the world of a silly crime show like Simon & Simon!
And that's all I got, because a Bio test killed my brain. D:

Okay, naptime now.

So.
Not that there is a theme at all there OH NO. Heee. It's the driving, I think, and the pace. Mostly the driving.
I don't know about
As for pancakes? This morning I had crepes with chocolate spread. Pears and chocolate syrup or bananas and chocolate syrup are also good. As is bacon and either cheese or maple syrup.
Bacon is good with bananas and maple syrup on pancakes too.

Nash: Would likely be from another one of those Japanese sword and sorcery RPGs. If he wasn't a Lunar character, he'd probably be a character in another Working Designs favorite of mine, Arc the Lad. And related to that, why aren't there Arc the Lad characters around here?! *might have to play the awesome cuteness that is Poco to remedy that*
Homestar: Um... could acid trips be considered canons? If not, he could probably fit in well as an alien or a monster in some old school Looney Toons.
The last time I had a pancake I really liked, it came with ground ostrich meat and a side of cheese sauce.

I could see Artie as one of the more pathetic quasi-villains who hangs out with Dr. Horrible. In fact, I'm kind of amused by the thought of Narbonic and Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog taking place in the same universe.
no subject
What canon. I'm sorry, but Cosmo would be in the real world, tearing down the world economy and being terribly smug about it. (He's not exactly a comforting headvoice to have, at present. XD)
As for other of my characters: Angel would be in To Wong Foo, Carl would be in something computer-ful (possibly the Real Genius universe), and Cata would be right at home in Ankh-Morpork.
no subject
she'd fit at least partially in any canon where she could fly, really, but I can't see her being, say, Alliance in the Firefly 'verse. Hm. Now you've got me thinking. Balancing the flight bug with a Hufflepuff's sense of fair play... Hmm.
