In the absence of Glorfindel, Círdan the Ship-Wright is kind enough to help Crowley get back to the bar from Middle Earth. The demon does not exactly look his best. Aziraphale comes over, and the reason for this is explained. After some coffee, Crowley perks up a bit, enquiring as to events during his absence. It is revealed that the angel has spent the past few days curled up with a copy of LotR, and there is sardonic, in-jokey cuteness before the conversation devolves into talk of slippers. There are idle threats and even more injokes, as well as the Aziraphale/Crowley equivalent of a seduction, which consists in no small part of quoting things at each other.

At some point in all of this, Tonks pops up briefly, and is lewdly suggestive before scarpering.
