Daily Entertainment.

A meme from Veronica:

1. People comment with the names of their characters.
2. Others reply to those comments with the names of characters of theirs who have threaded with them.
3. The first person goes back, and replies with at least one thing they enjoy about the thread(s) they've had with those characters.

(Using character journal so I actually get this done!!!)

I love, love, love how silly Mal is with Ingress. Captain Chicken is one of her favorite people.

Sallie is a grandma, and Ingress never had one of those.

Tom thinks Mal is a stand up fellow. Just enough on the outside of things to get along with well.

You know, I am sad. I think Ingress has only had one thread with the most fabulous Puppet!Doctor. She thought he was lots of fun, and knowing Ace as well as she does, she'd know much more about the TARDIS now.

I will tell you a secret. Much of the time, Viv is a tired person. I live a lot of my life in a bit of a brain fog from not getting the ten hours of sleep I'd prefer to get every day. So the night you pinged me and said "What do you think about Cerb tagging Bela" I spaced the connection between "Cerberus is a hellhound" (which I knew) and "Bela will be dragged away by a hellhound" (which I also knew). The two facts didn't meet up in my brain and say, "OH HEY THIS IS GOING TO BE A WILD THREAD" until you actually tagged.

I am so glad you were quicker on the uptake than me!

I like playing Bela against Cerb because basically, it kickstarted her entire plot arc in the bar. She also has hope because of it, because hey. She's faced down a hellhound. Even if it wasn't the same kind as on her world, it still means that there is a chance she'll find a way to face down the demon who holds her contract.

I didn't mention over on your thread, but you play a truly damaged psychopath in a beautifully chilling way. This is a serious compliment, because I can't quite be as realistic, as hard as I try.

Alanna is a true model for Ingress, even though I don't believe she knows Alanna's story. She just knows she is a) a pretty lady who b) kicks serious ass. She wants to be like that one day.

Also, with the entrance of Croup and Vandemar in the bar, I'd like to send Ingress and Megwyn on that trip to Tortall that came up in our last thread. She's going to hang out with Queen Amy after Christmas, but then she'll be DELIGHTED to go to Tortall for a week or so to avoid both London Below and Milliways. Shall we discuss? *claps hands*

Nynaeve! Door!

(Or Raven or X-23. And is okay, too. Thing.)

Hokay. You are my favorite. No, seriously. You are. We are on such the same wavelength in so many ways, and we kind of have been since the beginning.

Here is why I, and my characters, love yours.

Ingress thinks Raven can do anything. She doesn't know his darker side, mind, but even when she discovers it one day through hearing his stories, she won't care. He made her twirl, and that is what counts.

Similarly, Susan P. was enchanted by Raven, and her interactions with him helped her remember and rediscover the joy and wonder of magical places and people.

Your Door is perfect for my Tom. I mean, they are well-matched in so, so many ways, because I adore the way you've shown her fierceness and strength mature. Which doesn't keep her from being silly and cute when she wants to be, and wow, that's just cool.

Nynaeve is the only person in Ingress' life who hasn't adored her for being her. Ingress had to work for Nynaeve, and that was really, really good for her. Tom just feels sorry for Nynaeve much of the time. She's so bitter about not being as powerful and serene as Moiraine. :-P

The reason Bela likes X so much is because X is not emotional. That's a really good thing, especially right now. Also, when she's around X, she gets to be this person who is sophisticated and worldly-wise in a way that is not part of a con or a scheme - in other words, she can pretend to be the "normal" person she'd like to be one day.

Ingress thinks Laura is kind of strange, but MAN can she fight. She likes her, but she wishes she'd smile more.

For Mojo, She-Hulk. :-)

Mojo was enchanted. And slightly terrified by her large size. :-P

Yrael! And the Black Rider. ^__^

[personal profile] vivien 2008-12-19 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
Tom knows that Yrael gets it. Not that Yrael was evil, per se, but he gets where Tom comes from and doesn't care.

I don't think we've done a ton with Tom and the Black Rider. We should!

Ianto Jones, Charlie Pace or Jack Green

And Ianto and Tom need to meet at some point.

[personal profile] vivien 2008-12-19 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
Have they not? I could have sworn they did. Also we need to thread Jack Green and Ingress! She's going to have a thread in the HoA for friends and teachers since she is thoroughly traumatized by Croup and Vandemar returning. Oy.

I know it's come up before, but Ingress had one of those sweet little girl crushes on Charlie because he was cute and he always treated her like a little lady. He was a delight to her.

Ingress did meet Ianto, and she thought he was nice. He had a trustworthy voice. Don't ask, I can't explain. :-P

She thinks Jack is the bees knees since he teaches her her favorite subjects.

Oh, Eddie I should think. And Joe, just because there's so few of us olde-timers left rattling around. (Well, in this meme anyhow. *shakes cane at whippersnappers*)

[personal profile] vivien 2008-12-19 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, man, you don't know what an impact Eddie made on Ingress. Or maybe you do. ;-) She will remember him as a smart storyteller who always made her laugh and feel good. He taught her some seriously important things, and that yo-yo? Well, that was one important yo-yo. She still has both his and Cuthbert's slingshots. She alternates them when she practices.

Tom liked Eddie a great deal, too, because he knew what temptation was, and he knew what Tom was going through in trying to break from an old life. They got on exceedingly well, which surprised me, since Tom thinks Americans are slightly bizarre. But Eddie was a "stand up fellow".

God, I miss Eddie.

As for Joe, hee. I remember him talking with Anya when I briefly played her, and I always boggled that the two would have anything to talk about much less the threads they had. Ahahahaha, and the whole Paravia adventure. I know Tom was just like... "Damn that Manco and his ability to ride a bloody horse all day". Good times.

Bela thinks he's hot, and he offers absolutely no strings attached for her to get tangled up in. This is a Very Good Thing. Plus, he's a mercenary. She likes that she doesn't have to explain herself. Not that she would, but you know what I mean.

Tom is, as we know, from 1954, and he has that era's social mores ingrained in him, even though he's mellowed out quite a bit. He is a typical male, in many ways, of that time, including feeling very protective around younger women. Even powerful women who can stand on their own just fine, thank you very much. Like Door! But knowing they can do fine, and wanting to be there if they need help, are two different things, and Tom has always felt protective towards Nita, while at the same time recognizing that she has a very interesting magical system he likes to learn about. *pats him on his head* He's cute in a 1954 kind of way.
