I love that X is the only other person that Elle cares about, and how that has shifted their dynamic, and how that shift has in turn shifted X's behavior with Elle. I also like that--Elle is like X, in some ways. In terms of background. And there's a comfort for X in dealing with someone to whom she does not have to explain anything, really. And Elle is--there are ways in which Elle is better with people, or understands more about the world than X does, and there are ways in which she manifestly does not and I love that interplay.

I also love when they are both being just like 'this does not make sense' at each other. That perspective is a lot of fun to play, and to riff off of.
