Alyx and Charlie only threaded the one time (twice if you count the group OOM), but he was helpful in introducing Alyx to what the world was like before the Seven Hours War. That, I think, is the most significant thing Alyx got out of her time in Milliways: a true understanding of life without the Combine, and therefore sense of what she's fighting for that she could never have had back home.

Threading with Kirk is interesting in that he's already wrestled with a lot of the philosophical questions that my pups (especially Bob) are just starting to consider. It can be comforting to know that other people have been down the road you're on.

Knox... I think the thing that I like best about Knox is how down-to-earth and normal he is. It makes a nice counterpoint to the weirdness of my various pups.
