Daily Entertainment.
Milliways Bar as its own fandom: yes, no, why or why not?
ETA: A note -- If you are a Milliways lurker in general or just a DE lurker when you get a chance, feel free to participate in DEs. Daily Entertainment posts started when I discovered that I usually have enough privacy at work to post in and then reply via email to things, but not enough quiet/room to concentrate to post in and thread. If you are a newbie or lurker in general, DEs are also a great place to come in and introduce yourself. :)

Any pan-fandom RP becomes its own fandom for that very reason, IMO.

And, if it was really considered its own fandom, I would be able to bring in the character journals for the Malfoy-Ausa children who otherwise have to be content living in Mixed Muses. They are part of Milliways canon.

I'm not sure of that. The rules of the Milliways canon are such that OCs, even OCs who are the natural results of in-game marriages, can't cross into the bar. That doesn't mean the kids can't exist as part of the game.

(There are Milliways-specific vids? :O Are they as good as Hermione/Ichabod or River/Snape?)

There's the crossover element, as mentioned. And the original situations, and the attaching to characters whose canon one doesn't know/care for. It has its own icons, its own fic, its own academic papers, its own inside jokes, its own hipsters commenting on the difference between canon!Bernard and Millicanon!Bernard (anyone remember where that story got relayed?)...
And then there's the followers.

As an aside, I lurked here for nearly a year, and knew about the place for two before that. So I was a Millifangirl? I guess?

Also because I'll be flipping the channels on the TV and see a certain actor and think "That's (name of pup)!" even when that actor has never played the pup but is used as the PB.
...Also because if I read/watch a canon for the first time with a pup that Jack's interacted with, I get his reaction to it in my head too. A Wizard's Dilemma was so much AUGH.

Also my amazon wishlist and all sort of other things especially when I see something I really connect with, a voice in my head goes, hmm who could I play?
Though I didn't really lurk, Danii showed me a thread or two explained stuff then had Cam talk to me more and suddenly I was in and feeling lost until people welcomed me. Now I try and do the same for newbies since that generous reaction was one of the best things for me about Milliways.
