Hi there. I'm Write and I'll be your stand-in for the day.

What canon-based plots would you like to see in Milliways? I'm talking plots that you'd like to run or read if there weren't restrictions - if you had enough players to fill roles from your canon, enough time to organise everything, if timezones weren't an issue, if we all didn't have pesky jobs or college or whatever.

For example, I'd love to see the plot from Terry Pratchett's Lord and Ladies played out in Milliways. I floated the idea in my journal once and a few people were interested but I just have no idea how to run a plot that big and am too scared to. I'd have crop circles turning up everywhere for a couple of weeks, then have M'ways being a weak spot between worlds, leading to the elves overrunning the bar just before Midsummer and ending with a Granny Weatherwax/Titania/Oberon showdown, with every damn hero in the bar getting to kick elf ass. And Puck! Lots of Puck.

So that's my dream plot. Alas for lack of planning skills. What would you like to see?

Pirates of Penzance

in toto.

If the Black Pearl is on the lake ready to be hijacked the only specific roles we'd need would be my Frederic, a Ruth, a General Stanley, and a Mabel. The other daughters, pirates, and constables could, with a little handwaviness, be filled by the general population.

Oh this would be cool but we would really need a Ruth. Also everyone would be so confused since when the Pirate King met the PotC pirates there was such fun confusion.

At a con ages ago, a gaggle of Britmuns (plus [livejournal.com profile] saphyria and [livejournal.com profile] gramarye1971) spent ages over dinner discussing a Discworld plot where the Auditors attempt to audit Milliways. I can't remember most of the details now - I think that con was about two years ago, which is just terrifying - but we had a great time discussing it over an extremely good Chinese meal.

That con was love in general, now I come to think of it. But yes.

The establishment of a superhero team -- a multiversal Avengers or JLA. Something big and terrible threatening the bar, and a group of people with superpowers or fighting skills (preferably not all Marvel/DC) fighting it, and winning, and going, "Hey ... we make an awesome team. Let's do this more in future." AND THEY DO. (Which is what makes it different from all the other things that have threatened the bar before.)

I suppose that's a bit vague and short, and I can't think of what the threat would be (what's the Milliways equivalent of the Hulk? OR MAYBE IT SHOULD JUST BE THE HULK), but -- you get the idea, right? So who would be in the team?

Lords and Ladies sounds incredible, and hmmm... *eyes Granny headvoice who EYES right back* Maybe?

A Pleasentville plot might be interesting too, everything in black and white and (seemingly) perfect? And a way to change it. Not sure how it would work exactly.

Plot With Rocks In was a hell of a lot of fun to run, but I'm... never doing that again. As fun as it was, it was also a bit crazymaking. XD

For a plot that would be related to one of my current canons, a Villains By Necessity-based plot would be fun. Mizzamir would totally see the bar as another place that Needs His Help. I'd need at least two other people who know the book, as I see it - Sam and Mizzamir in the same headspace would be too much to ask of one person. XD And I couldn't pull it off by myself, so.

Non-canon-based, and back to Pratchett:
Moving Pictures and/or Reaper Man, YES PLS. Moving Pictures would be creepy as all hell, but all kinds of fun up to that point, and Reaper Man would let all the canonically-dead characters kick some ass!

For so, so long, I have wanted to run a zombie plot - specifically, the type of zombies in World War Z, although I would be happy with most other zombie canons, just because ZOMBIES!!!! And once Bar/the Landlord detects the virus or whatever, the bar goes into lockdown to prevent the entire multiverse getting undead-ed. Which means ZOMBIE SIEGE. Fortifying the upper floors, getting pushed back room by room, hallway by hallway, dealing with food/water issues, always wondering if the guy next to you is hiding a bite-mark under his sleeve...

And then there's finding out all the interesting ways a bite might affect various gods, immortals, etc. Would it turn them, or just make them sick, or not affect them at all? Does it depend on the zombie canon used? Would superhumans turn faster or slower? Would magical/ethereal healers be able to reverse the process? I don't know, BUT I'D LOVE TO FIND OUT.

For, uh, many, many obvious reasons, this is not actually viable. BUT MAN THINK OF HOW AWESOME IT WOULD BE. ZOMBIES.

Tribbles!

Science Heroes! Like the super hero team idea mentioned above but with Science!

And...shoot, I just had another idea but lost it.

ETA:I just remembered my other idea! In issues #523 and #524 of the Fantastic Four something wonky goes on with the F4s powers, they start jumping around to different bodies! Thus the F4 lose their powers and random New Yorkers get them for brief periods. And thus glory such as this image (http://pics.livejournal.com/spooky_lemur/pic/0006x4qd) was to be had.

What if something similar happened at Millwiays, where special abilities and such randomly switched bodies?

If my Dahlia Malloy headvoice hadn't curled up and died, I think her recruiting various Millipups to help with one of the ridiculously complicated scams from the first season of The Riches would've been awesome.

Spoilers for Fruits Basket:

Momiji's canon doesn't have much in the way of workable plots - it's mostly just a bunch of teens angsting and not talking to one another - but I had thoughts at one point about how neat it could be to have a host of Zodiac folks come in from the end of the series

So, for a week or however long, you'd have Zodiac spirits randomly infesting non-Sohma patrons and Bar customers trying to figure out why they're suddenly turning into bunnies and rats and sheep off and on. (Also, probably weird, temporary personality changes, to boot.)

But we don't have many FB pups, and Momiji is the only one near the end of canon, so it's mostly just an amusing vision in my head.

Oh there have been so many. SO SO many.

- There's a TERRIBLE movie that came out years ago called Stay Tuned, about a couple of people who get sucked into a television based hell dimension. Every time a channel changes the make up of the dimension shifts.

- The scourging of New Loompa Land. I haven't played the Loompas in FOREVER, but the five bar loompas that we have are not the whole loompa population. There's an entire society still living deep under Bar. They dig tunnels, and they have...dug too deep and unearthed something long since forgotten.

More creepy plots. I like those.

Honestly, if I could run a plot I might do one with Wraith taking over the bar for a while. But I don't see that happening.

A vord (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Codex_Alera#Vord) infestation from the Codex Alera books. A nest appears deep in the forest and the queen sends out her spidery-looking scouts to assess the land and learn the territory. Given enough time, they can learn to mimic the abilities of the creatures they encounter, and produce warrior vord that combine the best of them.

The thought of something with X's claws, Mel's Slayer reflexes, Mike's ninja skills, and a viciously bad attitude would be something to behold.

From very far away.

I've had a vague idea involving the Torchwood novel Border Princes. It establishes an entire civilization whose world is also attached to the Rift, and who takes its responsibility toward the Rift very seriously and has a long line of families - the heads of which are the Border Princes, natch - who are in charge of Rift babysitting duty. I thought maybe something post-novel involving the current Border Prince attempting to get back to the version of Cardiff he was in during the novel (you know, as opposed to the current Milliways version of Cardiff, since the novels are AU and all, plus Border Princes's plot makes it super-tricky to combine it with Torchwood proper) following some sort of massive disaster on his planet, but ending up in Milliways instead, and eventually recruiting people to help save his world.

Unfortunately, the level of planning involved in all that is COMPLETELY beyond me.

For canon-specific stuff? I am sort of looking forward to when we get Jenny's Sarah Walker in and we get to have canon-meshing and rewriting for great win! Also hopefully we will rewrite or write out the Cole mini-arc, because OH MY GOD THAT THING SUCKED SO HARD. GET YOUR GORRAM GARY STUS OUT OF MY CANON, NBC.

...Yes. Also, Jumanji plot. I'm sort of nervous about that, because I keep meaning to run it here or at another comm or BOTH, but I'm terrified of running a plot like that because it would require so much hand's-on work and such.

I have others, but I actually need to edit a short story right now, so. Yes.

If I ever put a Lunar 2 character in, specifically Leo or Ronfar if one of them moves in, I'd love to run a Lunar 2 plot I'd call Zophar's Blood:

So Ronfar loves Leo's sister Mauri, right? But in events that happened before the game starts, Mauri becomes deathly ill. Ronfar finds a cure for her, but it turns out to be (Plot Name Drop!) Zophar's Blood, Zophar being the demigod antagonist of the game and the reason why the Blue Star is no longer Earth but a barren wasteland. Seeing as this is an evil demigod's blood, it turns Mauri into a heinous bitch/unwilling villain/awesome physical and mental boss fight. Most other drinkers of Zophar's Blood become insane zombies. I've got other plot related things planned out for this, but then I'd be explaining the whole thing here and I can't even get it running unless the head voices get louder.

If anyone has any Lunar 2 characters living in their heads and want to start on this, LET ME KNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! =o

Tribbles would be twenty kinds of fun, agreed! I can imagine Sariel spotting one, going 'awww' at it, and then realizing just what she's cuddling. Heh. And hmm.

Considering the fact it'd be either Sariel's universe or a universe very similar to hers that'd be... er... supplying the tribbles... hmm. You've got me thinking about the logistics of this one, now.
