Hello Greekmuns!

So there's a new guy in the bar tonight -- Felix Gaeta from the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica series. If you're familiar with the show, you might know where I'm heading with this. If you're not: most of the humans in the BSGverse are polytheists. Greco-Roman polytheists, to be exact. Some of the pantheon's more minor figures have gotten elevated to major status (Eos/Aurora and Asclepius are worshipped on par with the Olympians, for instance), but pretty much all of the names and functions have stayed the same.

While Gaeta's not terribly religious? Tagging him with a Greek god would be a bit like God or Jesus plopping down across the table from a Christian and going, "o hai." I am totally not opposed to this happening eventually, but I'd also like to let him adjust to the General Milliways Weirdness (tm) first before dropping that particular bomb on him. *g* So! Please don't sic the deities on him tonight, and in the future, please please ping me at ironic segue (or leave a comment in his contact post) before sending one his way.

No problem! I didn't remember it being like that with the old show, and haven't really been able to get into the new one. Will keep that in mind with any of the BSG pups in that case, and this is a good PSA for pups in that canon.

Totally get the reasoning behind this post. At some point in the way distant future (read: when life is less nuts and I'm caught up on BSG canon) I wouldn't mind a thread, but there will definitely be okaying things with you first.

Absolutely. I am far too intrigued by the possibilities to say, "NO, YOU CANNOT TAG HIM EVER," but spreading out the shocks = very much of the good.

Not necessarily. I mean, if it's likely to come up in casual conversation and there's no way to avoid it coming up, then probably yes, but I think there could be ways to talk around it. :)
