MOD POST: even more cast list shenanigans

Okay guys, here it is: Stage 2 of the Great Cast List Reboot. I know, I was supposed to make this post yesterday, but there has been a slight delay with certain sections of the cast list. Certain of these are still pending, and will be added to this post as soon as possible, but I think we have enough to be getting on with.

Below is a list of all the characters that, so far as we can ascertain, have not been added to the new cast list. Once the month is up, if these characters have not by then been added, they will be BAHLEETED from the game - poof, gone, finito, most definitely not pining for the fjords, and ready to be apped anew, tabula rasa, by other players.

Now, the one thing we don't want to do is to screw with anyone's playing experience - and given the size and age of Milliways, there are certainly characters who, if rebooted, would cause a substantial amount of flail and AHHHHH WAT (amongst characters and the muns that have to play them) as well as the plain old disruption to history and continuity of the game. And nobody likes flail and AHHHHH WAT. Thus: the purpose of this list.

Take the time to peruse the list. Do it carefully, bring a drink and some snacks, 'cause it's a really long freakin' list. If you see any characters that you personally really, really need to not be deleted/re-apped, you can apply in the comments to have them retired. As per the new policy on character retirements, you will then be responsible for renewing that character's retirement on an annual basis.

Please do not retire characters lightly. If you are unsure, we have developed a ~*skientific*~ way of judging whether or not a character should be retired. From the FAQ:

It's up to you [whether you choose deletion or retirement] - but a good way to think about it is in terms of a hypothetical Time Travel Scenario. Which is to say: if someone travelled back in time and somehow prevented your character from ever entering the bar in the first place, would it really make a huge difference to the stories of other characters in the game? Really? Reeeaaaally? If the answer to that question is 'no', that it wouldn't make all that much difference to other characters, then you should go ahead and delete the character wholesale. If the answer is 'yes', that it would make a substantial difference to the stories of other characters in Milliways, then you should retire your character instead. What qualifies a 'substantial difference'? Once again, that's something only you can decide.

Likewise, if we have messed up somewhere and, for example, listed a character that is on the cast list (this is a particular possibility in the case of everyone who waited until the last minute to add their characters, while this list was already being compiled), or if you totes forgot to add your characters and need to do so now, et cetera, you can let us know in the comments.

In fact! We are SO well-organised that we have specific comment threads for each type of appeal/correction. Therefore, please only comment in the thread relevant to your appeal/correction. We're kind of anticipating a lot, so if you comment in the wrong place, it's more than a little likely to get lost in the shuffle.

That... would be because he does not appear to be on the old cast list, and I cannot find any record of him in the apps account, while the LJ is not a member of milliways_bar. Possibly the best thing would be to apply for a reserve once apps open?

Jane Lane; Erronius; Enchanted Forest Chronicles batch

I emailed y'all in the initial press of cast list hijinks saying Jane Lane and Erronius can go ahead and be deleted. I retired Jane several years ago now, and never brought Erronius in, so.
As for all the Enchanted Forest people... well. Since Morwen's been so quiet lately, I'll probably change my original statement and delete her, if the others drop off. But we'll see where they are after this round of Cast List settles out.
So... I think that's me sorted out.
ETA: Also the reserve hold on the Society of Wizards can be dropped, if the other characters go. --And Daystar, but as noted, these'll depend on where the rest of the cast ends up.

She may also still have Ben Gates, consideredwrong, from National Treasure, but I am not sure; when I last spoke to her, she hadn't yet made up her mind on keeping him. That part of the list isn't up yet, but I'm assuming he'll be on it. If he could be added, too, that would be awesome, and then if he needs to be deleted or anything when she gets back, TL can handle that. Thanks!

Let's say there is a character that made a significant impact on the bar and your pup but you would be happy for a new reset version to come in played by someone else. Would your pup be under obligation to forget the original version?

I ask thinking of Hank McCoy (the Beast, X-men) who made a big contribution by gathering all the infirmary equipment, and also had significant relationships with several pups - but it would still be cool to have a Beast again some time. So if nobody else objected to a New Beast, and someone brought in a New Beast, would it still be possible to a. let your pup reveal to New Beast that they were close buddies with Old Beast and or b. say that Old Beast brought the infirmary equipment in?

I have an issue with my REBORN! character, (Yamamoto Takeshi) in that he's in the adoption process, but because the former player chose to keep his username, I was told to write his profile page and submit him to the comm.

That hasn't happened yet, so I am not sure what to do? He is attributed as mine, as far as I was told, that last stend just needed to be taken.

If the character hasn't yet been formally adopted, you should add him to the cast list yourself. Once the month is up (when we can finally deal with stuff other than cast list things), then the adoption email should be sent in so we can officially transfer the character to the mun adopting him.

Yes. As it says in the post, once you've commented, you should go add the characters you need added. If you-plural do not add them yourselves, they will be deleted at the end of the month.
