ARGH. Everyone waiting to RP with me, sorry, my girlfriend only calls when I am playing, by some bizarre and frustrating mindlink.

By way of clarification, I love my girlfriend very much. However, when I spent several hours this evening re-reading Bag of Bones, she didn't call. Last night when I was watching the Presidential debate, she didn't call. But somehow whenever I am in the middle of 3 conversations at once here, she calls. Frequently, with some kind of emergency. There's no way she could know she's doing it. It just happens.

Bag of Bones is the one where all the children are named the same, right? And there's an owl somewhere?

Not as far as I know. It's the Stephen King one, with the writer whose wife dies so he goes to their house of the lake which turns out to be haunted and ends up taking up with a much younger woman.

Yeah! And he finds out that his wife wanted to name their child something that started with a K, and when the younger woman dances during one bit of the book there's a Don Henley song playing. And there's a little girl whose mom calls her her little guy. Right?

I swear, this is not how I would choose to remember books, had I the choice. A plot, a plot, my kingdom for a plot!

Oh! Yeah, Kia is the name of the kid they would have had, and Kyra is the "little guy." I don't remember an owl, though. But then, I'm re-reading it because I don't remember it very well.

And it wasn't a very important owl, I don't think. It held papers, or something.

Yes. Yes, it did. But it is an important owl, because it holds the evidence that his wife is writing a book, which he originally thought was evidence she was having an affair, but it turns out not. I think.

Gah, I'm going to ruin it for myself.

HA. I knew that owl did something!

But now I shall not talk to you about it any longer, because rereading when nothing's remembered is almost as fun as reading for the first time, and it's no good to spoil such things. So thank you!
