Hmmmm. Here's something I've thought about.

Without changing then, if your (non-superhero) pup were a superhero, what would their powers and name and all be? So like, I contend that Meg Ford's ability to make lists and be organized just might be superhuman. Clearly, then, if she were a superhero, she'd be the one making sure people returned library books on timme and never forgot to buy the milk. I suspect her name would be Rolodex. (Well, it almost sounds like a superhero name, doesn't it?)

Also, I lol'ed at today's LJ Writer's Block. Good lord.

If Steph Brown had a superpower, she'd be very sulky about it and hide it. She's very proud of being a non-super superhero, even a failed one.

However, if she had a superpower, it would be Dramatically Stuffing Things Up.

So maybe she doesn't hide it so well after all.

Jason Todd's superpower is Being Badass. It's true.

Also, frightening little children.

And charming icecream out of street vendors just by being all *gringrin* I'M ROBIN, I LIKE NEAPOLITAN ICECREAM *gringrin* although this works less as he gets older and more hard-faced-looking.

[livejournal.com profile] oftyshalle's power is to be the Chuck Norris of his 'verse. CAINE DOESN'T GO HUNTING -- HE GOES KILLIN'. CAINE DOESN'T SLEEP -- HE WAITS.

[livejournal.com profile] navyafterone -- ohgod, at first I was going to say his power is just to be really lucky, which made me think of the Black Cat's ability to cause bad luck, which made me think of the Scarlet Witch and hexes, which made me picture James with reality-manipulating powers. JAMES IS NEVER ALLOWED TO BE AN OMEGA LEVEL MUTANT. "Mr Fantastic" is taken, so he would call himself "Mr Awesome". Or "Awesome Man".

Momiji's turning-into-a-rabbit thing is totally a superpower! I'm sure it could be totally badass, given the right circumstances. :D

...Well, no, not really.

I mean, he couldn't even properly do stealth with it, because, after he'd crept through the air vents or hopped sneakily into the villains' secret lair, he'd just be all ineffective. Also, nekkid.

Oh, wait, I've got it!

He can team up with a female superhero, and, every time she needs to make a quick escape, one hug means an instant smokescreen! =D He'd be a great sidekick!
a1enzo: (cadet - Aha!)

[identity profile] rowanberries.livejournal.com 2009-08-04 12:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Lessee, Shelley's power would be not dying! Like, not immortal - she just always escapes or gets better...

Oh wait. That's canon.

Havelock's would probably be something like mindreading, or paralyzing people with a look.

(STEPH I HAD A KIND OF JOB TALK THING AND I THINK I MIGHT HAVE GOT IT OMG *STARES AT PHONE.* RING, DAMN YOU.)

[personal profile] kd7sov 2009-08-04 12:52 pm (UTC)(link)
For variety, let's start with Frederic today. His power would be 'being in a musical/opera'. He would neutralize baddies by distracting them with song. As far as name... perhaps Dutybound, or The Pirate Horror.

Felix, on the other hand, already has what is arguably a superpower - he has, as he puts it, 'some command of earth and stone'. I figure he'd dress in browns and greys, and call himself The Boulder. Later on he might start calling himself The Alchemist, as long as he was sure no one from his world would hear about it.

Apropos of not much, I ought to get a new icon that has both Felix and Frederic in it. Maybe Kain as well, though he's not apped, and perhaps Madblood, even though he doesn't have a journal yet.
a1enzo: (eyeroll)

[personal profile] a1enzo 2009-08-04 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
*groooooan* "The Pirate Horror" would only work if he's a villain, though.
kd7sov: (Default)

[personal profile] kd7sov 2009-08-04 04:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Weeellll... If we transpose his story he could be a former villain-sidekick, trying to reform.

Alternately, a Hero With (extraordinarily) Bad Publicity.

Or justify it as "the thing that horrifies pirates". ("I want to sing and dance, I want to sing and dance, I want to be a pirate in the Pirates of Penzance...")
a1enzo: (sneaky)

[personal profile] a1enzo 2009-08-04 04:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd go with the first, and have him change his name from The Pirate Horror to Dutybound. Don't they usually do that?

Gibbs has a super-power...getting really drunk and never, ever falling down.

Kirk...I just can't see him with a super-power. (Speechifiying doesn't count.)

Charlie and Knox would be want that nifty power Sylar stole that allows you to tell if someone's lying.

Emperor Norton's super power would be his righteousness and diplomacy. As evidence, I offer when he placed himself between some rioters and their Chinese targets, and with a bowed head started reciting the Lord's Prayer repeatedly until the rioters dispersed without incident. His name naturally would be The Emperor and he would have a cape.

Artemus Gordon already is a sort of Tony Stark. I don't think he would have a super hero name as he works better in the shadows.

Capt. Roland would have a power similar to Gladiator (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gladiator_(Kallark)) in that so long as she believed in what she was doing, nothing can stop her. Her name would be Captain Britain (or maybe Admiral Britannia), unimaginative yes but apt.

As for my others, well . . .

Verity has an almost unerring ability to locate brunettes in black dresses.

I would say that Anna has superhuman levels of energy and cheer, but I think it's also possible she's just, you know, nine.

And Amy has her Royal Attitude to fall back on when she needs to.

Rennes' super power would be escape artistry. After all, he's "Harry fucking Houdini".

Munch's super powers would be his snark, and his ability to smell a conspiracy from a five year-old's lemonade stand.

And Tim Speedle's power is getting shot at not remembering to clean his gun his awesome trace analysis skillz.

Elle already has a superpower, and that definitely can't be changed. She's sort of been exposed to the idea of dressing up and having a superhero name, but... the whole idea of being a superhero doesn't really appeal to her. If I had to stretch my imagination, it would definitely involve her wearing a lot of blue, and not having any name that involved the word 'girl.' No electro-girl or something like that. (Maybe Psycho Electro? ... I read too much TVTropes).

Carla has Super Nurse Memory. It is canon! And I think J.D. once had a daydream of her as a semi-action hero in which he called her "Ms. Busybody Smarty Pants." I don't think she'd like that.

I'm not really sure what to put for the Cylons. All I'm really thinking of is stupid comic book names like Chrome Dome or Cyborg Woman. (CYbernetic Life fOrm Node!)

Tosh already has a superpower: she has evil death crotch and if Owen was anything to go by her powers where only getting stronger - all it took to kill Owen was a kiss after all. If Tosh had a PROPER superpower, it would be to do with computers. She'd probably be like some kind of human/AI hybrid. With the power to kill with her crotch XD

Helena Bertinelli's superpower is the same as Bruce Wayne's: she has the power of dead parents.

Gert Yorkes' power is the power of snark.

Adrian Shephard's superpower is that he channels the abilities and thoughts and speech of all the Marines who died during the Xen and Combine invasions. Only problem is that there's a hell of a lot of Marines who fit the bill and they're all angry as anything, which is why he swears so much and never notices- he's currently the voice of the frustration and anger of the entire Corps.

His superhero name would probably be Unprintable.

I'm seriously tempted to invoke the Law of Conservation of Ninjitsu (I will not link to TVtropes, but it's there). Several hundred Marines in one place? Dangerous, but overcomable. One Marine left? RUN FOR THE HILLS, HE GOT ALL THE BADASS.

Ooh I like this one and I can finally answer a DE again, this time from a cafe in Ann Arbor.

Let's see, Jane's superpower is easy, she is witty and brilliant at the kinds of insults that you don't realize are insults until later. She is The Lady Writer.

The Pirate King is Glorious and his name would completely work for a superpower.

Will, I'm not sure about Will since I just can't picture him with a superpower other than being quick, and loyal. He's from much like one of the non powered heroes in Marvel or DC, so I'm not sure.

Tumnus is the Researcher and the Musician.

Demeter and Sameth kind of already have superpowers though neither of them would ever actually call them that and Sameth gets a name sort of later but that's kind of a spoiler.

Hee, that's Robin Hood though. Will's more about being quick and a good fighter actually he and Steph Brown are pretty close.

Also he'd be happy to be a sidekick since personal glory really isn't as important to him, its much more about keeping Robin and Nottingham safe.

Piotr-- wait. River-- no, wait.

Lan... Lan would have something like a healing factor, I suspect. *wry* Or else a mild case of luck. There are plenty of comments long before he starts traveling around with an Aes Sedai about how he has the Dark One's own luck to have survived to twenty-six -- and nowadays he's pushing fifty. (He does get some things that could be called superpowers as part of the general Warder package, but I'm counting those out for the question.) He would insist on only being called Lan, but people would come up with some dramatic name for him anyway, and use it behind his back. As they do with all his zillions of titles plus The Uncrowned King in canon.

Trowa: I half-believe anyway that he's got some kind of animal empathy going. Nobody sticks their hand in a growling lion's cage and takes for granted that it will turn out well! Except, apparently, this kid. (His balance and jumping ability are also superhuman, but that's just anime physics.)

Honey: THE CAKE FIEND. He consumes three giant cakes in a sitting! His power is his metabolism. Largely useless unless you want to clean out a bakery in a hurry.

Johnny Smith would likely be something like the Seer or a Touch related name.

Nathan? Probably American Eagle because of his politics and his flying. or Falcon.

Aramis would be the Holy Poet, his powers that of a sacred tongue and good with words.

Draco would be Sneering Ferret. >.> (Should be Sneering Fox, but I'd imagine the media offering the former more likely)

If Kate did get a power? Well she can already talk her way in or out of anything.

Pan is Pan. enough said there.
