Elaine's bio and some notes...
I know this is rather late, I hope no one minds...It's been great fun playing so far! Thanks to everyone who's played with me!
Elaine le Blanke was born in Astolat (which, I believe, is now called Surrey) in the year 1125. It was a very isolated town, and Barnard, Elaine’s father, was the Baron of the land, and she had two brothers, Tierry and Lavaine. Elaine’s mother died in childbirth, and Barnard was a very overprotective father. Elaine was raised by her nurse, and has very little education. She ran the household in her mother’s stead, and knew much of the surrounding area by horseback.
When Elaine was eighteen years old, she fell hopelessly in love with a knight by the name of Lancelot du Lac. Though he seemed to encourage her at first, and Elaine did everything in her power to serve him, Lancelot refused to either marry her or become her paramour. This broke her heart, and she stayed in her tower, refusing to eat, drink, or sleep until she died. Upon her instructions, her father and brothers placed her into a barget when she was dead, and a servant took the barget to Camelot, where the sight of her body grieved King Arthur greatly, and saddened Sir Lancelot. Lancelot was placed in charge of her burial and also for the offering in her memory to the church.
Elaine is quite surprised to find herself in Milliways, and though it is a very bizarre place for her, she looks upon her stay as an opportunity to meet new people. She has found a picture of her barget in a book, and is anxious to learn to read so she can read her story…
Snarky mun notes: Elaine is Just a Touch Mad (tm) and it will take a while before she is ready to grow up. I’ve written her a lot younger than 18, but that’s how she’s speaking to me at the moment. Elaine can’t read, though Snow is going to help (Thanks, Snow!), and learning to do that is definitely going to help her. I am in the Eastern time zone and my AIM ID is shellebelle093 (Y!M shellebelle93) if anyone wants to get into contact with me. :-)
