From Gen:

Your character gets to become a were-something. Wolf, mouse, centipede, kinkajou, whatever. What animal would they pick?

I don't mean what animal you, the mun, would choose to reflect their inner soul. What would the character pick -- for symbolism, for practicality, for amusement value, for the reflection of their inner soul? Why?

(If your character's already a werewolf or the like... here, they get a free do-over! Would they pick the one they've got?)

Lorne: Human. Human, all the way, every way.

Garak: Doesn't believe in this were-something nonsense.

Jeeves: For the purpose of personal amusement, he would pick the owl, due to its symbolism re: wisdom and knowledge.

Gabriel: ...Gabriel will have to go with Garak's opinion.

[identity profile] alas-a-llama.livejournal.com 2009-08-17 12:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Atton: Either a wolf (it's a recurring motif) or a polar bear (it's fluffy, but also smashy). I suspect that some of his friends would, if they had the chance, pick a baby seal for him.

Dalek: Would be a were-dalek. It'd be a dalek for most of the month, but then at the full moon would turn into another dalek.

Teddy: A bear. Just because he thinks they're cool.

Victor: Probably a bird of some sort. Hawk, maybe? He'd like being able to fly loads.

Seamus: A fox. Like Teddy, he just thinks they're cool.

Sparrow: An eagle. Again, because he'd like to be able to fly.

[identity profile] twostrangegirls.livejournal.com 2009-08-17 03:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't know you played a Dalek. Well, I didn't know we had a dalek in the bar at all, which is kinda my main point, but... no Daleks had been brought to my attention.

(This is [livejournal.com profile] cameoflage attempting to cultivate proper headvoices for these two, BTW. *tries not to hyperventilate*)

Ray's been a wolf before, with Garion's help. He is not very good at it. He's gangly and he trips over his own feet while he's talking and he inevitably falls in things that smell disgusting, and when he tries to wash off he gets pond yuk in his coat. Nevertheless it's kind of entertaining, and he knows how to work the legs as long as he doesn't talk, so that's a good option.

Ellen... would probably pick were-Deathclaw, because she'd be so freaked out at the prospect of being some kind of animal that she'd want one that can defend itself without even trying, at least until she stopped panicking.

Ironhide: were-rhinoceros. He's had it happen before and he can respect the different species of rhino out there. Besides, Lissar likes his ears when he's like that.

Whistler: would not mind being a were-orangutan. Yeah, yeah, bats and dolphins can echolocate, you'd think he'd be into that, but the prospect of being able to work with his feet as well as he works with his hands is kind of tempting.

Gordon: were-peregrine falcon. The waters of his Earth are far too dangerous to swim in (thus ruling out dolphins), and the creatures of Xen and the Combine's making are all over the land, but very little alien life seems to have colonized Earth's skies. A peregrine is capable of defending itself, and it's fast. And having an aerial form seldom hurts when you need recon. Besides, he misses the almost-flying sensation of his old downhill racing, and peregrines can do 200 mph in a dive, so.

Not sure about the others, but that's what I've got so far.

Ee-yep. From the US Fish and Wildlife Service's All About The Peregrine Falcon page:

How fast can a peregrine falcon fly?

In level flight, the normal speed for peregrines is about 40 to 55 miles per hour. In a stoop (dive) peregrine falcons can attain speeds in excess of 200 miles per hour as they attack their prey.

Mia would pick fox so she can play with Draco in his animagus form.

I want to say that, if not a fox, she would pick being a cat, but I'm afraid this fan comic being stuck in my head would prevent me from acting on it, even if it's nowhere near true.

[identity profile] spooky-lemur.livejournal.com 2009-08-17 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Ben would be were-human or maybe were-bear. The thought of him being were anything is a hard one though, his skins not too pliant.

Val would be some sort of were-feline.

I got nothing for Usagi and he is looking rather terrified of being something other than himself. He can be very superstitious.

[identity profile] leeshajoy.livejournal.com 2009-08-17 02:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I... cannot get an answer on this from any of my pups. Particularly not Alyx, who gets extremely twitchy at the thought of being something other than human.

Bob = weretoaster?

[identity profile] leeshajoy.livejournal.com 2009-08-17 03:28 pm (UTC)(link)
...dude, he's been a toaster all of twice. He'd be more likely to be a were-guitar.

Yeah, but weretoaster is funnier to say.

[identity profile] candied-rabbit.livejournal.com 2009-08-17 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm pretty sure Momiji likes being a bunny on some level - not a very practical level, since actually turning into one is never much fun, but still - so, he'd probably choose to be a were-bun.

Gilbert would be a were-cat, probably of some sort of domestic sort.

Will would choose to be a fox since he likes playing around in that shape and chose it at Cubefall.

Tumnus would not like to change into anything, thank you very much, being a human once was more than enough for him.

Jane thinks she might like to be a bird but not sure what kind, maybe a raptor.

The Pirate King would want to be a sea monster.

Demeter, maybe a cat but she can change on her own and she's never been as into the whole turn into an animal thing as the rest of her family.

River, who is already a wolf, would probably pick fox or Ethiopian wolf.

Fiona likes the idea of being a were-tiger.

Olga rather likes her owl form, and y'know, changing on her own terms. So she'll pass. Vert, Earl & Mills also no thanks.

Abe wouldn't mind being human again, for a few days a month at least.

Gecko wants to be a were-komodo dragon. And then he has a list of people he wants to bite.

Ako wants something with opposable digits. Were-Ewok has tremendous comedy potential.

Jerry is trickier. Were-elephant I think.

Tyler doesn't want to be a were anything. They're all unsettling and strange in his home timeline. It's a thing.

Yuuno is a voluntary shapeshifter already. Being locked in a shape three nights a month would be strange!

Ramon likes his current alternate shape, the panther, but he's torn over whether he'd like to be forced to take its shape every month. He'd like to have a bit more control over it than he does now but having no choice at all would be worse. So he'd stay as he is.

Justin would be some kind of bird. One of the smaller, prettier birds of prey, probably.

pheliskougra: (ninja)

A Kestrel, maybe?

Also, you have a tag from Jordan...

I was thinking of were-human at first, but then, Evil Chicken kinda canonically hates humans. He is jealous of their facial expressions and opposable thumbs, though.

If were-god weren't available, he would take were-dragon.

Well... there is one other option he would really like, but I am keeping that one a secret until next Cubefall.

[identity profile] agoodshinkickin.livejournal.com 2009-08-17 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I think the Loompas are quite scary enough as they are, thank you.

Mike and Raph?
They're already technically were-turtles, aren't they?

Canon even has Raph turning into another kind of turtle.
Yeah, I've got nothing...

The Devil is already a natural shapeshifter. Becoming a were-something would be downgrading.

Ryu would pick either tiger or dragon, both very useful in his normal tasks and reflecting his personality (Asian dragon not the westerner one)

Ben Winchester would prefer to not lose control of himself three nights a month.

Marlowe prefers being human.

Jordan is quite sure her prosthesis would not shift with her, so being a three-legged werething would be too much indignity and she would pass.

CJ is a married man with two kids and would prefer to not complicate things with lycantropy.

Tanya would not mind being something supernatural... as long as she does not become some hideous blob of noxious ectoplasm or something. Maybe a werewolf, or some big werecat.
aberration: NASA Webb image of the Carina nebula (Elle v. zombies)

[personal profile] aberration 2009-08-17 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
After her experience as a bird, Elle probably wouldn't mind turning into one once a month. Maybe some big bird of prey. That's also blue. And has sparkly talons.

HEY YOU SAID SHE GETS TO CHOOSE.

Carla I would imagine choosing some kind of short-haired cat, both because of her general affection for cats, and the appeal of a form that would both make it easy for her to slip away and spy on others.

I want to say owl for Sharon, but at least until she gets her new callsign, she'd probably go for some other bird of prey.

And... I'm blanking on Caprica, but I guess I can cheat and say human.

[identity profile] amanda-darieux.livejournal.com 2009-08-17 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Amanda has been a raven before and she very much likes it. They fit her personality so she would probably go with were-raven.

Tim McGee- is refusing to speak to me especially on this point.

Alucard- um yeah he just turns into whatever he wants anyway so he is giving me a dirty look for just asking

Vicki (new pup)- "Why would I choose to be a were-anything?" is her only response
kd7sov: (Felix)

[personal profile] kd7sov 2009-08-17 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Coming late to the party due to my vacation, Felix thinks for quite a while before deciding on a rattlesnake. Fast, earth-affiliated, camouflage-y, not terribly subtle, and able to defend itself.

[identity profile] twostrangegirls.livejournal.com 2009-08-18 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
I'm having difficulty coming up with anything for Gamma, although it does seem like a dog would suit her (and, prior to that, "otter" popped into my head for no reason). It seems likely that any sort of were-transformation would screw with her ability to cancel Zimmy's powers, though, like sleeping but more so... so maybe it'd be best if she turned down the offer.

Zimmy's response, on the other hand, was as follows: "I got enough problems."

[personal profile] bringer_of_fun 2009-08-18 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
Bobby thinks he is so awesome that any MORE awesome might hurt the general public.

Rapunzel would be some sort of song bird. Flying AND singing? She'd like that.

Mother Nature can already shapeshift, though it's usually too much bother.

Mr. Clean would become...something really clean? ADRIAN MONK!

Liza isn't sure she'd want to shift into anything, though she's curious about what it's like to be a wolf.

Mallory would have to give it a lot of thought, but maybe some sort of cat, something that could get around and be formidable, but still be able to remain unnoticed if she wanted.
