...long story short, this being costume-making season and its usual hectic self, this here's my official notice of not-going-to-be-around-much for a while.

Which my current threadbuddies have probably noticed, on account of threads going into super-slowtime, but if not, there you go. I think this just affects threads with the Skyliners

theflyingsquirl and

neapolitan_man, and those crazy Norse types

mechanicalswans and

winter_arrows.

Giving notice doesn't really mean any change to the frequency of my tagging, it just means I'll feel less guilty for being slow. We can also work toward fades or wraps if preferred.

Slows are always good and I hope the costumes are going well.

It's all the fiddly little bits and things that take longer than anticipated (and in some cases, getting the materials).

But at least I'm starting the mad rush earlier than usual this year!

As I've been unpacking, I've found some of the cool things that you made for me over the years. Did you see the picture of the Fiona flag hanging in my entryway?

I didn't get a chance to yet, no, but I'll keep a lookout for it. :D

I did some posts with pictures at I think closer to the start of the month in my journal.

Dragoncon. One's this guy here (tails and ears are hard to do) and the other is the equal-parts-wrong-and-awesome gothic-lolita Tom Servo (he so has the build for it). They'll be great once they finally come together. :D

It's all fine; I am used to the super-slowtimes. Yay for costume-making! I think I'll make another peplum for my Ostrogoth costume before the event at the end of September we are going to...

I wish there were more time for costume-making. Like, an extra day every week would be nice. Imagine what we could all get done!

(Or at least me; I spend more time intending to work on things but slacking off than I do actually working on them.)

An extra day each week just for sewing and the like would be effin' brilliant! I still need to make the other peplum for the Goth dress, and then I fell in love with a dress on a picture (it happens!) and I want to see if I can make something similar.

I have... just under two weeks to get way more sewing done than I am comfortable with, and I only have until tomorrow to get as much done as I can before what'll probably be my last chance to go to a fabric store for last-minute materials. *chuckle* Things have a way of sneaking up on you.

OMG that sounds like a few all-nighters from hell!
