Sunday Indulgences!

Better late than never, as they say.

Have you done something awesome this week? Something you are proud of? M'ways or other, RP or RL?

Share it here!

Come and see the Awesome that is Cyborg's Halloween Horror Hoedown (http://community.livejournal.com/milliways_bar/22530730.html#comments)! Thanks to everyone who came and had some fun. (Some threads in progress.)

Well, let's see.

*Cosmo dropped by Joan's bartending, which was pretty awesome.
*Moist and Conflict Diamond double-teamed Happy (Evil?) Hour, which was also pretty awesome. (I need to write the drink recipes down somewhere. XD)
*Conflict Diamond's Conversations With Dead People post; she's not sure whether it was awesome, but I thought she could do with the closure.
*Moist's costume shenanigans, or: He should be glad I didn't go for that horrible cowboy getup Simon Helberg had on in the Big Bang Theory season opener, my god. XD
*Moist also decided he wanted in on dead-people conversing, which was... unexpectedly complicated, but also awesome.

I'm pretty happy with Elle's conversation with her father, especially for how long I procrastinated on it. Though I'll probably be happier when she stops demanding multi-part OOMs -____-

I also have some stuff still in progress, Elle talking to Dr. Horrible and me actually EPing a couple lesser played characters. We'll see if I can actually get the rest of my car keys EPs done this week >_>

I sent out four academic job applications! A lot of the text overlapped from one application to the next, but the shortest application was eight pages long and the longest was fifty.

In related news, I miss RP.

I got to dress Cal up as Jack Harkness for Halloween (http://community.livejournal.com/milliways_bar/22532902.html). He is not amused, but I am. It's still open to anyone who might be interested in tagging; I know I probably missed a couple I might have liked to tag due to the influx of everyone's awesome (some of those costumes were great!), so I thought I may as well mention that.

Chuck made a new friend (http://community.livejournal.com/milliways_bar/22530886.html) in Bumblebee, which delighted me to no end. Her thread with Ned (http://community.livejournal.com/milliways_bar/22518602.html?thread=995829066#t995829066) (which, hey, that rhymes!) was also full of adorableness.

And out of Milliways, Joan and Harry have date number three (http://middle-name-s.livejournal.com/15776.html) - which goes rather well, wouldn't you agree? :D

My fellow Skyliners are made of awesome, as you can see in our Three Days in October plot finale. All in order (and thanks to the especially-awesome Edie-mun for the writeup) they are:

Day One: Tony starts the ball rolling. Then he goes and has a nice little chat with Edie.

Day Two: Edie picks off a few key players, Queenie gets the news, and Squirrel and Coreen watch the news.

Day Three: Queenie figures it out and goes looking for Tony, Edie remembers her civics classes and takes a little sociopathic revenge, and Tony and Edie win with some blank tapes.

I am also more amused than I should be by Sqrl's unfortunate Halloween transformation into Rocky. He was due for some more humiliation.

And now it's Nanowrimo time! I haven't gotten a single word written yet. Better get cracking on that. :D

I'm also putting forward Tony and Edie's wedding (http://spandexed-edie.livejournal.com/2146.html), as it was great fun.

Tony: Hey, just think, if we'd done this forty-five years ago we'd have had a boring church ceremony and no Elvis at all.

Edie: No Elvis...it's almost not a wedding without Elvis!

I've really been enjoying the conversations with dead people. *applauds everyone*

I'm quite happy with Alanna and Roger's conversation, as I've had something like that in mind ever since Sario did the painting for Thom. Has it really been years? :O

And Raph and Alanna plotting mischief always makes me smile.

Other than that... I've had a bad case of flu, which is never fun. But I'm getting better and, with much apologizing, plan on catching up on car keys and plot shaped threads ASAP!

I've got some awesome to share.

To start here and work my way out, I've been making decent progress on Felix's linked OOMs; I've nearly gotten Kain Highwind's app ready for submission (this being an app I was originally planning for June, but better late than never); elsegame!Felix has teamed up with Sora for a boss battle, whose fallout has yet to be determined; and I've managed to drive our manual transmission car multiple times without stalling or jerking the passengers around.

Well, the Decepticons blockaded Earth (http://tangled-metal.livejournal.com/4525.html), I'm kind of proud of that... and more, the Autobots found out just what they were up against (http://tangled-metal.livejournal.com/4957.html).

I hope nobody in the audience is a Hot Rod fan. Or a fan of the original Wheelie.

I liked Rodimus Prime back in the day, because it was a nice change to have a show built around a leader who was really not ready to lead. But Hot Rod was a jerk voiced by Judd Nelson.

I wrote a Conversation With Dead People for Teja that turned out quite satisfactory, on a spur-of-the-moment inspiration from [livejournal.com profile] saphyria by IM. All hail to the muse and not'cat-mun!

Also, I finished the Abhorsen Chronicles and now know what Yrael, Sabriel and Sameth are all about; it is a brilliant book, too, and my Little Lady is so getting it for Christmas. She can deal with Harry Potter and Inkheart, she'll take the Greater Dead in her stride.

And lastly, I finally apped Sirona ([livejournal.com profile] source_fairy the moment the apps were opened, and I have all threads with Asar-Suti at a point where I can Exit Post him with a note of 'Thanks for all the coffee', so there shall be pup turnover this month.-

**bows and blushes at the compliment**

And yes, the Abhorsen Chronicles are fun -- the story in and of itself, and the way he takes some well-loved tropes for a ride they won't forget all that easily... **loves on**

I finished reading Kait and Jason this morning after finishing my work and it made me giggle which I needed. Sam's going to get an EP before he heads home but I want a follow up with Jason for fun teasing and eying.

*snugs* Mondays suck and this week hopefully will be better than the last.
