My parents were here last week! I got spoiled rotten, we climbed the Eiffel Tower and went to Disneyland and went on a boat trip on the Seine and IT WAS AWESOME. \o/

Most Excellent News Of The Day: Apparently the next Doctor Who special is airing the day after I get home. I CAN WATCH IT WITH PEOPLE YAY.

Yep! It was about 9 o'clock at night, so it was all lit up, and on the hour the Tower basically turns into a huge Bonfire Night sparkler, all brilliant twinkling lights. We didn't get to go right to the top, alas, but we climbed the first two levels and it was so, so shiny.

It's been A Week, and one which I would care not to repeat for a damn. long. time.

At the moment, I'm torn between 'YAY THUNDERSTORM' and 'EW HOT' because I have to have my window closed, due to rain, and the weather has decided to turn humid and blah. On the plus side, I finished my essay, so tomorrow I'm semi giving myself off.

Should, you know, my laptop actually WORK at the library.

Just realising that I need to get cracking with stuff. Door prizes to make for CMHA's Christmas dinner next month. An OOM that needs to be edited to my satisfaction. OOMs that need writing because I haven't started them yet like I promised they'd be. A debate with myself about the merits of apping Pup #10 or if I should choose some other character I might like more. Looking into an employment idea I hadn't even thought of, but could supply me with more hobby and food money...

But. I did get to go out for a belated birthday dinner at the Chinese buffet I happen to like a lot...

And I may end up being able to devote PayPal money that would've gone to Magistream's three- and five-shard creatures towards something I might want to put money towards, or maybe buy something else online with it...

Aw, I apparently need to get over to the space center sometime. All I've ever seen of a launch is an orange blob. Not as exciting, that.

I raided all weekend on WoW. I don't know how it happened, but I was signed up or pulled into raids, which range anywhere from an hour to four or more, and my brain was officially fried by the end of last night.

I did political campaigning for maintaining Maine same-sex marriage legalization for most of the week (go go team equality!) after work, and am very tired/ready for the election to be over now. One more day.

Also, the washing machine overflowed and flooded the basement, which was, you know. Fun.

As for me, trucking along! The DMV hates me so I cordially hate it back, but I had a very fun weekend so that's all right then. Ballet on Friday, and Halloween hanging out on Saturday (and ze housemate acquired a Wii! HILARITY), and a mostly-lazy Sunday (although Featherless, alas, as she's off into the wilds of beyond) which included a lot of reading and then a Maine phone-banking training session.

I want more weekend. But on general principles, not because today's going badly so far. (But I still do.)

We were as close as legally/safely allowed. (About three miles away.)

I just...I lack appropriate vocabulary. It launches and then there's just all that smoke, then fire and it looks like it's going to explode on the launch pad. But it doesn't - it goes off into the clouds and evaporates them because of all the heat so it is just fire and blue and everyone freaking out with happy because I was sitting with people who actually physically built the thing. It was neat.

Dude, I was volunteering back in high school for the Civil Unions campaign, albeit on a low level -- I am glad to help. Thank you for the heads-up about how to chip in! I'm never sure how to help as a busy out-of-stater with a lot of these things, you know? Because local groundswell is so important, and I have neither the time nor the personality to throw myself into full-time persuasion volunteering. But yeah, absolutely, and I'm just sorry I didn't manage to do it earlier.

This afternoon, though, there will be calling! Evening. Whatever. POST-WORK. Since I kind of suspect they might not appreciate me phone banking from my desk... So picky, workplace.

I am mostly hoping I have a week between the last and the end of the semester that does not involve me having a head cold and annoying people by coughing all through class -____-

But besides law school law school law school, I also did manage to throw together a semi-successful River Tam Halloween costume, get a new iPod that doesn't make iTunes freeze every time I plug it in, and do some RP, including writing big long OOMs. There has to be a break from those, at least.

I went to work as Ziva for Halloween! It would've been better if I'd thought to get an NCIS hat. (The winning costume on the day was Quailman. XD)
Otherwise, I mostly did stuff in here.
Also: quinby went up to Maine to help with the campaigning stuff Lexie mentioned? And she called me yesterday going 'HEY HERE'S SOMEONE YOU KNOW.'
It was not Lexie; someone I went to high school with (briefly, as he graduated my freshman year) is up there helping out. So that was randomly hilarious and awesome.

Jacee and I did some evil that will be linked for Halloween, millitimed. It takes a lot out of you, writing evil. I also started Nano and wrote 1800 words in a day and that is the most I've ever written in one go holy shit.

My friend's wedding has been moved up thanks to the military so I also got to deal with that this weekend. Mostly calming a sobbing Katie N. down :(

We did a 'holy crap' amount of plot arc ending RPing this week. Other than that, I've been fighting the influx of Asian beetles that have taken over, and trying to feel better, as I've been feeling crappy.

I created a power point presentation and handout on the illustrator Paul Galdone, he did the Anatole books and have so much work I need to do in the coming weeks. Grad school is crazy, so much work though most of its not hard just takes time.

Halloween was fun and I flirted with a cute guy at a Halloween party though I forgot to get his contact info because I ended up feeling shy but still I held a cute guy's attention for a good long time. I hadn't realized just how much I needed that until it happened.

Now I'm printing out the handout and will walk up to school soon.
