Weekend entertainment.

Wow, did Saturday sneak up on anybody else? (In my case it probably has something to do with going in for a brief nap last night and waking up 13 hours later...)

My roommate in college could be driven absolutely mental by people leaving time on the microwave after they'd taken their stuff out. Me, all you've got to do is eat loudly and slurpily and it drives me nuts. We've all got little things that annoy us--how about your pups?

Or you, if you feel like sharing. Sharing is good.

[livejournal.com profile] ironside_pixie hates people who say 'you're green!' when they see her in pixie form. Well, duh. Also she hates fake fingernails. Though I don't think it's ever been mentioned before in Canon or bar canon.

[livejournal.com profile] just_a_soldier She hates cowardly people. And loud people. And pretty much everything at the moment.

[livejournal.com profile] unique_clayr Bugs. They're irritating.

It's difficult to bother Mia, but she's learned that one of her pet peeves in marriage is when Draco acts a little too much like one of the members of her fan club. The fan club doesn't bother her as much and she does love affection from her husband, but one of the reasons she loves Draco so much is knowing that she's a person to him and not an idol.

Or no more of one than he is to her.

Right now, I just have one big pet peeve completely embodied in one of my classmates. I could spend all day just telling you exactly what he does that bothers me, but it could all pretty much be summed up as he doesn't show respect to anyone. At all. Even his friends, how they put up with him I don't know. All the other stuff could ultimately be lumped in under that.

There are any number of things that irritate Felix, but two stand out in particular. Breaking a promise, even an implicit one; and declaring that there is or was, or that one had, "no choice". He is very firm on this one point: there is always a choice. (Not necessarily a good alternative, mind you, but always a choice.)

I'm not coming up with anything for either of the others at the moment. I may be back later.

[livejournal.com profile] fowl_beast.... hmmm, must be people engaging in repetitive tasks. On the plus side, those people are easier for him to kill. It's a love/hate thing.

It's weird going from being me, who has hundreds of ridiculous pet peeves that could only be described as neurotic (one of mine literally involves the sound of breathing), to playing Data, who has practically no pet peeves whatsoever.

If Data ever seems like he has a pet peeve, it's usually because he's just trying to be helpful. He'll calmly correct you whenever you get a piece of information wrong. He's even known to get "stern" occasionally, if it's really important that you listen to him.

The closest he ever came to seeming like he had a pet peeve was when Dr. Pulaski called him "Dah-ta," and he made a point of correcting her and telling her it was "Day-ta." So don't mispronounce his name? XD

(Weirdly, that's like, the ONLY pet peeve I do not have. >.> )

I have classmates who get my name wrong. While I correct them, I find it more amusing than annoying nowadays.

[identity profile] ol-yellow-eyes.livejournal.com 2010-03-28 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
I know the feeling.

I have this HORRIBLE middle name that doesn't even make any sense to pronounce. It's a combination of my mother and father's names, and they pretend that it's pronounced like another, completely normal name. It's fun to watch people fumble with that one. Usually I let them try for half a minute before I tell them. ;)

*joins the club of having ridiculous pet peeves!*

Like. OMG. When someone is reading the newspaper, and they kind of thumb to the next page but linger on whatever page they're on (because they found something interesting to read)? And sometimes they make that kind of skin-against-paper rubbing sound? OH GOD WHY. The dry rubbing sound just makes me want to scratch my ears out.

For some reason, it's only the newspaper that bothers me, and not regular office paper or anything. Maybe it's the thinness of the paper, I don't know.

I mean - hi. I'm totally okay. What.

[identity profile] ol-yellow-eyes.livejournal.com 2010-03-28 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
That's good! That's a new one. XD

But no, I hear ya. I have the dry-on-paper thing but for me it's PENCILS. If I'm in a room where everyone's taking a test and I can hear the sound of all their pencils scratching against the paper, I want to claw my ears out. Also the sound of someone scratching their scalp when it's dry. O.o

Or the lingering thing. I start squirming whenever I'm on a busy street and there's a red light ahead and the guy in front of me wants to coast as long as possible. Arrrrrrrrgh just GO already, and STOP completely!! I hate that feeling of sort of moving, but not really...

O__o Sorry. /rant.

Hi. :D <3333

Boromir... [[livejournal.com profile] sonofwhitecity] Although I don't see him as the kind of military leader to be a stickler for uniformity and by-the-books spotless polish (Since the war against Mordor included a lot of skulking and scouting around), I can see him being annoyed by people treating weapons or tools sloppily or casually. Also, despite being a very physical man, I can see his loyalty and love for Faramir making him think less of people who automatically put down the more intellectually-inclined.

Tarik Mansuri [[livejournal.com profile] first_runihura] has no patience for people using his rank when he has asked them to address him by name. He hates when people do that to others, too, but that ain't his business. Oddly, I picture him getting annoyed at people who peel fruit that you can eat with the peel still on.

Barbossa's [[livejournal.com profile] bushel_o_apples] main peeve is Jack Sparrow, of course.

For me it's eating loudly, particularly with your mouth open, and God help you if it's chewing gum that you're slapping your gums to. 'SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP THAT IS DISGUSTING SHUT UP' is among my milder automatic responses, albeit one that I mainly keep my mouth shut about.

For Sam, people with no sense of humour and/or an inflated sense of their own self importance is like dangling a catnip-stuffed mouse in front of a kitten. Oddly enough, he doesn't get on very well with most of the other devils...

Edna hates the spoiled, the useless and those with no sense of taste. YOU WILL BE EDNA-FIED, AND YOU WILL BE EDNA-FIED NOW.

For Crowley? When people rearrange his stuff, accidentally put things back in the wrong place, or make misguided attempts at tidying. HE HAS A SYSTEM, OKAY. THAT THING IS WHERE IT IS FOR A REASON.

Also: pedestrians, anything that will shed/drool/attempt to mark its territory on him or his stuff, backseat drivers.

For me: People who walk down the middle of the sidewalk, people who weave around on the sidewalk, and just skateboarders in general. Also, whenever anyone says "from whence". Shakespeare shouldn't have done it, and neither should you! "Whence" or "from," people. Not both!

For Legolas: Basically anyone who puts on airs; also anything that screws up his hair. He hates having to rebraid more than necessary!
For Finn: Repetitive noises--finger popping, pencil tapping, etc--that people do to help them think. Also people saying "I'm sorry" when it's not their fault.
For Cathy: SILENCE. Silent people are so very very annoying!!! Also people who talk all the time. Yep.
For Helen: Using the incorrect word, especially when you know the correct one. Asking stupid questions. People who act before thinking.
For John: Anything that is outright ridiculously bad security, like opening the door to a knock when you're not expecting anyone. People who ask questions.
For Filif: Dogs D: D:. Especially dogs who want to mark him D: D: D:.
For Mitt: EVERYTHING.

Oh, I also hate Church Latin in all of its various forms which cause me to wince because I've had a different pronuncation hammered into me. I can't actually sit in church when people start singing Gloria in Excelsis Deo.

Basically, I'm really easy to annoy about really weird things.

You'd probably find me annoying, after living in New Zealand, I tend to walk on the left and not the right side of the sidewalk. Its become habit.

Oh, that doesn't bother me! I do, too. I just bike, so people who don't pick a side and stick to it bother me. :)

The skateboarders always pass by too close. Sometimes I just want to hold an arm out at the last second and watch the board come out from under them. >:3 (Especially since I can always hear them coming.)

No offense to skateboarders in general... It's just, on crowded campus = annoying. >.>

I love your face. :D :D. (And yes, I have had the same desire on occasion. They've caused me TWO TWISTED ANKLES this year. And they never stop to go "Oh, I caused you to fall off your bike in an attempt not to hit me when I cut straight in front of you without looking first while going half your speed! I'M SORRY" *growls*)
