Update on the Black Rider: Who Says the Dark do Their Work Out of Sight?

The Black Rider enters from outside Time, quite happy to find a bar there. Sitting down he talks to Tim and Joe, the former finding him a Suspicious Character, and the later an Outright Bastard. Both are correct.

A day or so later, the Rider comes across Jane, in her fevered and weakened state, and Moraine; he announces that he is a doctor of some sort. (Two links, coz the mun was briefly stupid.)

(NOTE: This part may get a little confusing and repetitive as there were a few thread breaks and the like.)
Will busts in, alarmed to find the Rider there, and even worse with Jane. Will and the Rider talk circles while Moraine watches closely. Peter shows up briefly, worried for his friends, and, of course, of the Dark. The Rider sees he has overstayed his welcome and leaves.

The Rider once again talks to Jane. Trying to get her to think ill of Will Stanton while still appearing the epitome of solicitousness himself. Suceeding well enough, he leaves her to brood over what he has said. He talks briefly with Anthy.

The Rider talks to Mordred, alarmed to find a child of King Arthur's here. Luckily, this one was killed by his father and does not appear of the Light.

Afraid he's seeing another son of Arthur, the Rider talks to Yrael, thinking he's Bran. He's quickly schooled otherwise.

A few days later, he talks to Yrael again, only as the Mogget cat. Todd comes over and he and the Rider snarky comments. Mordred appears once more and they dicuss Arthur and the past.

Once again, the Rider comes out at night to do Mean Things. This time, it's reminding Peter of his past and that his shadow is never far. Peter will henceforth warn everyone away from the charming, handsome man in black. (So sad ;)

The Rider is back again to make Will's life hell. But surely everyone loves Will-baiting! Thus, the Rider baits Will. He also speaks to Bran, using mad doublespeak and generally bastardy and snarky wiles.

Thanks to 'Ways time, the Rider also temps Tom, and was having lots of fun, but the Rider-mun has an 8oclock.

Whew. Two weeks, and that's a lot of stuff! Oh the PLOT! Anyway, sorry if that wasn't the best, but it's my first summary! :D

Oh, good heavens, icon. :D

Neither I nor my characters have been around much lately, so I haven't really had the opportunity to say this, but incredible amounts of fangirling to you re: the Rider. I'm working my way through the DiR sequence, and the canon Rider and your Rider align marvellously. Decided kudos to you. Besides which, more fangirling for bringing him in at all. Does it make me a servant of the Dark if I happen to like the Rider as a character? Hmm.

We all already knew you were evil...

*sips tea*

[identity profile] muddypetticoats.livejournal.com 2004-10-12 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, hush, you.

And I am not fooled one bit. I know full well that isn't tea you're sipping.

*holds teacup in one hand and a rather Handy-looking cup in the other*

*innocently* Who's to say what I'm drinking? Even I don't know, half the time.

Btw, do you have IM of any sort?

[identity profile] muddypetticoats.livejournal.com 2004-10-12 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Dearest, the pure Satanic energy is burning through the bottom of the teacup. The innocence isn't flying.

And indeed I do. I believe you just found me on MSN, unless someone else is using the messenger name of Moggetthekitty. And since I'm quite the stalker, or at least have the Milliways Directory bookmarked, I have your AIM name. *looks evil* I can't post mine publicly, but I'll ping you with it.

You are not fooling anyone, you know.

*her face is the very picture of solemn disapproval*

Do you disapprove because of my alleged innate evil, or my denial of that alleged innate evil?

*looks archly at the silly disapproving person*

Hee hee hee... evil is fun! I love your Aphelise - he's going to make quite a stir, I think.

[identity profile] maydaybrat.livejournal.com 2004-10-12 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I love you. So much. Mordred and Rider need to finish their conversations, dammit.

*grins*

[identity profile] maydaybrat.livejournal.com 2004-10-13 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
And protective of Bran, don't you forget. Mordred's from the old clan-school: We can beat up our family, but if anyone else dares...

Hee! *grins and puts on her halo* No idea what you are talking about, I'm sure.

You made a Rider/Kitten icon! Hee! *feels proud of own evil brain*

Hee! Actually it was [livejournal.com profile] saphyria, Mogget-mun and Jane-mun. Kudos to her! And she has some more Milliways related icons on her LJ just a post or two down if you want to check them out! :D

Facilis descensus Averni...

Oh well, you know my opinion. I've been madly fangirling you for ages. Congratulations on scaring my reformed villain to death. Peter is petrified by the Rider. There are many people whom Peter dislikes, but there are very few whom he fears. The Black Rider has just joined a category previously occupied only by Voldemort and Nyarlathotep.

And oh, the wonderful temptation and tension that the Rider provides while being calm, devious, intelligent and doubletalk charming. It's hard to play a villain, let alone play one well, and it's almost impossible to play one with this level of menace, but you are doing a brilliant job.

I can't wait till the Rider meets up with the other members of the Formerly Evil Club. Cue stress, fear, despair, rage and guilt...and temptation. Can't forget the temptation. This should make for wonderful stories.

(Oh, and the title of this post means, "Descent into Hell is easy.")

Speaking of creepy and unrepentantly evil types, one day these two probably *are* going to ahve to get over their egos and compare notes. I mean, homeboy is plotting planetary conquest and genocide, and if that ain't Dark, I dunno what is. Aheheh.

[identity profile] raindrenched.livejournal.com 2004-10-13 10:23 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I suppose they'll talk someday. But the Rider wasn't about to back down and approach Megatron. :D I see we were both sticking stubbornly IC. Arrogant little bastards, they are.

Oh, and this is Rider-mun btw, as I realize I am posting under my real LJ username. :D My bad.

[identity profile] onetruemegatron.livejournal.com 2004-10-13 10:25 am (UTC)(link)
hehehehe. It happens. And it's awesome. They're just gonna out-snot each other.

Very nice summary. *applauds*

And in case I haven't said it enough, I adore your Rider. Even if Moiraine despises him. ;)
