Quick question

Sooo busy. But I have time to pop in with a quick question. Milliways magical library? What's the deal and while we're there...I could with a refresher course in all the other areas of Milliways...can it be posted in the bar? Or are there certain comms. Sometime I want to do other things that just...sitting in a bar, and It'd be awesome to take note of the other places.

So yes, just basically asking for people's memories/knowledge on where else there is.

I personally know of the bar, the cells, the lake...erm toilets. XD Thanks

The Milliways magic library was founded by my former pup Asar-Suti, and it's upstairs among the patron's rooms, in room 79i (= 88, but the Discworld charrie who co-founded the library can't work with the number 8). It's invitation-only, but any magic user or researcher who asks can get invited. Hermione Granger and Ava Wilson are running it together now 'Suti is gone; Ava (whose mun is Merc) may be the best bet, she's around quite often...

And yay for Lirael inna library!

Wait wait wait. Is it just a library of magic? I thought it was, or that there was, a regular (if magically extensive) library. And my pup may have directed one or more other pups to it. >_>

This is what I thought too.

Ah, see their response to me: there is a regular library as well, but the magic section is separate and evidently a bit more exclusive.

No, there is a regular library too. I think it's in room 87? But the regular library came first, if memory serves, and Esk and Asar-Suti wanted something separate for the books on magic.

Ahhhh, that makes sense. Thank you. Carry on.

So yes, just basically asking for people's memories/knowledge on where else there is.

In addition to the lake outside, there is also the greenhouse, the stables, the shooting range, the forest, and the mountain. (Both of the latter two have the property of if you go far enough in, you'll eventually come back out where you started.)

Inside, there's the cells, the infirmary, the kitchens, the regular library, the magical library, the dojo, and (if you can stumble across the hidden elevator down to it) the garage.

And possibly more that I can't recall/don't know about.

If you want to lose an hour or two wandering through nostalgia, check out similar "So, uh, what all is here, anyway?" posts here and here.

There is also the 200-Foot Daisy, surrounded by a hedge maze. Not much gets done with either because the mun of Hexadecimal, who lives in the Daisy, has a great deal of Real Life going on these days, but it's obviously something of a landmark.

I think there is still the huge daisy and the maze out back? I don't know if they are still around. Oh, and don't forget the evil Karaoke Machine. And an infirmary, and a gym. And there is also Sarah from time to time, oh and isn't there a Brothel? And the Kitchens, and the the Back room that our pups never seem to go into. And at one point there was a Labyrinth too somewhere in the mountains out back.

Yes, they are there. Not much gets done with them because Hex's current mun is extremely busy with Real Life, but they remain as points of visual interest.

hum. Does Hex's mun keep a secret mun journal? Or is there something I am missing here?

Not that I know of? But I've seen her a bit on IM. There has been moving and engagement and other such time-consuming matters.

And there's a baseball diamond out on the grounds, that Castiel made for the baseball plot last summer. He looks after it, but anyone can play on it.

Isn't there also like two people buried out there?

We have a stargate? OMG I should so use that!

!

I was planning on having Evil Chicken steal a Stargate and bring it to Milliway's.

Random things whut I can remember now thinking:

Outside -- There's the labyrinth in the mountain/off-in-ye-distance, too. And the Womping Willow. And once upon a time the forest was connecting to The Dreaming.

Inside -- The shrine above the bar and the baby grand piano in the main area. The two places run by Lilly/Inara. There's a milli-paper somewhere, too.

There are flight simulators upstairs, though at the moment I can't remember the sharding room number, eep. And don't forget the inlet in the lake, courtesy Tia Dalma and the Black Pearl.

... Ooh, and the trilobite tank, also credit Suti and Eska, isn't it? And isn't there an evil DDR machine to accompany the evil karaoke one?
