Turns out the wireless I've been using belongs to the barbershop halfway down the block, and the guy's perfectly okay with my using it.
Crichton's back for good now. My hours will be a bit weird because of time zone differences and the like, but things will be worked out. I'll also later summarize the entrance thread. Many thanks to all those who participated.
