DUEL SUMMARY! I'm slow. So very slow. This is just of the actual duel; there are side conversations, and Will-mun kindly summarized the Faust threads; that will all be posted later, but I need to post this before I go home for the week and have no access to the file.
Meg and Todd go to the lake. George, who does not want anyone to get hurt, protests. Her protests are to no avail, alas. Anthy produces the shiny sword, various people react, the roses are given, and Anthy makes the sword stronger. With her mouth. It is now the Sparkly Pink Freudian Sword. ph33r! Will finds the sword sex strangely compelling.
Then the duel begins. Meg's method of fighting involves channeling other people, and she begins with Raph, then switches to Galahad, then Mordred. They bang their swords together. Todd scratches Meg's shoulder, prompting cries of horror from the audience, "..." from Anthy, and "Blood oooh shiny" from Todd. More fighting, and then the shiny sword breaks Meg's. Meg is angry. She throws the broken piece at Todd, who mocks. Then Meg starts channeling Paul. Todd thinks it's hot, but Meg realizes: Paul can't fight. Bad idea. So naturally, she decides to channel Todd himself. Todd is furious. There is rather disturbing Toddness all round.
Anyway, they have reached an impasse. And then . . . Meg channels someone else. Anthy loses her concentration, and Todd's sword stops glowing; mysterious!Meg lunges and cuts off Todd's rose. The duel is over.
The aftermath is not! Yay aftermath.
The sword returns to Anthy, much to Will's chagrin. Anthy and Mordred mock silently. Moiraine comforts. Utena leaves, and Anthy twitches just a little. (Note to the world: Utena's reactions and such will make ten times more sense if you keep in mind that she has participated in such duels before, but has amnesia and trauma and fun things like that.)
Meg, meanwhile, is not Meg. Or rather, she is Meg being Todd again, and other people, but mostly Todd, for now. Mordred and Moiraine congratulation her. Meg utters the word "gee," a clear indication that something is dreadfully wrong, as Moiraine knows. Meg pretends nothing's wrong. Moiraine suspects Anthy. Will attempts to re-Meggify Meg with bad French, but to no avail. Then Andrew gets there, and we move onto the angst.
Andrew is happy and congratulatory. Meg ignores him. Then she is vicious. It hurts. Meg does not react. Andrew breaks inside. Meg stops being Todd, but doesn't reach Meg status. Andrew tries to bring her back. Screw summarizing, WAH! It is very sad and breaky and then not so much with the breaky, and then with the sweet.
At various points before, during, and after this, people who are not Meg and Andrew leave.
