*screams in absolute frustration*


My laptop is dead. AGAIN.

This has never happened before. I don't know what the frell is going on here, but I'm not happy about it.

I'll still be able to log on from work (8:30am-1:30pm, which corresponds to 2:30am-6:30am eastern time), but no more early-morning wireless hijacking so as to play Crichton in prime time.

Crichton will be unconscious in Angie's room until me and Angie-mun can manage to be online at the same time. Till then, I'm back to playing Vowl. Hopefully I can get my laptop fixed by the end of the week. If not, who wants to chip in and get me a new one?

My laptop won't even turn on. Not even in safe mode. Not even with system restore. Not even at all. Instead, I get a Blue Screen of Death that says:

Stop: c0000218 {Registry File Fialure}
The registry cannot load the hive (file):
\SystemRoot\System32\Config\SOFTWARE
or its log or alternate.
It is corrupt, absent, or not writable.


Evidently this means I need to reinstall windows XP. Which is a bit of a problem, considering I left the frelling install disk in the states when I moved to Israel.

I've had that happen. It sucks. Whoever made your laptop should send you a new disk, or you could woobie someone into mailing your original.

Considering it's been two weeks and I'm still waiting for my absentee ballot to show up... I need to find someone here in Israel with an XP cd to lend me. There are a few people I know of, but it's hard to get a hold of them.

Well, I don't understand why you'd vote for him, but I don't have to. Your vote is your own business. And I'm not entirely surprised anyway. Most of the overseas absentee ballots comeback Republican.

(Israel went off daylight savings time a month ago and nobody else did. When you guys go off daylight savings time at the end of October, it'll be 7 and 2.)
