Halloween thoughts

During one of the more drunken moments at the Millicon, various ideas for Halloween fun at the bar were thrown around. The best ones seemed to revolve around any willing characters being subjected to the bar's choice of costume for the night of the 31st. This version of the idea was actually mine... and yes, I blatantly stole it from Piers Anthony's Castle Roogna fancy dress parties in the Xanth novels.

Costumes could possiblly reflect a personality trait of the character or just be generally ironic in nature. Poultry outfits were mooted as a good option as well. *nods sagely at [livejournal.com profile] jcrichton* Obviously muns would actually choose the costumes themselves, but the bar would be seen to have outfitted each character as they entered the room. Are these ideas feasible and is anyone interested, pending modly approval? Other ideas?

Well, I was already planning to have Strong Bad costume as his anime counterpart, Stinkoman K 20X6 (or maybe get replaced by Stinkoman). This is as good a way of accomplishing that as any I could come up with. (Still working on what Mal's going to be costumed as. I think some version of Magneto sounds good, but I'm open to other suggestions.)

I love the idea, but do not think I'd be able to participate if it was on the night of the 31st itself, as I have that Tuesday off but not that Monday.

OOoh ooh ooh yes.

*raises hand like Hermione Granger in the first year Potions class*

Paul will be dressed up as ... something ...

But then again, that's often the case.

Anyway. Paul. Costume. Yes.

Paul should be a short timer.
*snickers*

Wow...but what can Tim dress as? hmmmmm

I love this idea. Love it.

Heh heh heh, what terrible costume will I make my poor darling Tom suffer in?

[identity profile] maid-of-astolat.livejournal.com 2004-10-20 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I like the idea as well, though Sundays are rather difficult, I would definitely endeavor to be there. ;-)

*costume ideas present themselves at an alarming rate*

But I might need more...LOL

[identity profile] skjaldmeyjar.livejournal.com 2004-10-20 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh. I'm up for it. *ponders costumes, takes evil suggestions as well*

The suggestion is brilliant, and should be highly, highly entertaining. However, I'd like to add a suggestion to that: since many people might find being online difficult on Halloween itself (I know I shall, considering dorm shenanigans) wouldn't it be nice if we could extend Halloween, by the Glory of Millitime, to the whole weekend?

Obviously this is something that would have to be taken up with the managers and would need their full consent, but it would give more people a chance to participate in Milliween Milliwacky - and really, how could that be bad?

[identity profile] timsbooks.livejournal.com 2004-10-20 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
i second that suggestion.

[identity profile] what-a-guy.livejournal.com 2004-10-20 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Does it need to be thirded? Well, regardless, I third the motion.

Fleur is Elvira. It has been called. Like, a few days ago in the Geekend. BREASTS FOR THE FRENCHIE!

[identity profile] la-calice.livejournal.com 2004-10-20 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds like a great idea!

[identity profile] pair-of-morons.livejournal.com 2004-10-20 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I think Beavis and Butt-head will show up as Wayne and Garth.

On the other hand, Shipwreck, who can say, and Megatron?

Megatron does not need costumes.

Todd will be going as what Paul-mun wants him to go as - it's only fair.

So many costumes to choose from, so little time!

I guess the real question is, how evil are the muns going to be with thier little darlings?

[identity profile] skjaldmeyjar.livejournal.com 2004-10-21 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
All of my current ideas have my Valkyrie glaring at me.

...
So I'd say "very" as to "how evil".

Yup my witch and vampire are doing just about the same thing.

*Insert evil laugh here.*

Try dressing Van Helsing - he's done the costume thing - but he mostly looked like VH in a mask w/ a different shirt on... so, go figure - suggestions on decking him out are welcome... *eg*

Connor - eh, he'll do just about anything *cough*badwigdrunkenduel*cough*

Bob - poor Bob is a spirit in a skull - he'll just have to keep being that, b/c, well, he's incorporeal and can't really be anything else...

[identity profile] hooper-x.livejournal.com 2004-10-21 07:16 am (UTC)(link)
DRESS VAN HELSING AS WOLVERINE. :D

*snort*

Actually - even better - if he ends up dressed as Peter Allen from "The Boy From Oz" - I think he'd pass out on the spot if he suddenly saw himself in gold lame pants...

[identity profile] fairest1.livejournal.com 2004-10-22 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
What about Wolvie from the movie? Black leather would be less traumatic. Somewhat, at least.
i_vanquish_evil: (Default)

[personal profile] i_vanquish_evil 2004-10-22 10:00 am (UTC)(link)
where's the fun in that?

this would be traumatic, but not life-threatening, like his usual adventures... *eg*

not that he'd have any idea who either was - he'd just be confused...

[identity profile] tropes.livejournal.com 2004-10-21 07:45 am (UTC)(link)
As far as I'm concerned, it's cool.

[identity profile] quinby.livejournal.com 2004-10-21 08:07 am (UTC)(link)
Mwahahahha. I have the -best- idea for Val, but alas, I do not know if I will be around any that weekend, as I have a party to go to. Perhaps extend the festivites to Monday as well? *pleads*

[personal profile] stilljustandrew 2004-10-21 10:27 am (UTC)(link)
*sigh* Alas, I won't be around for any of Halloween weekend. (I'll be at the Ohio Valley Filk Festival, which is great, but missing the fun here, which is meh.)

[identity profile] marionravnwood.livejournal.com 2004-10-21 01:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd be interested...just not sure which of my characters to have participate, but yeah, definitely count me in! (And I'll take suggestions for my characters :D)

[identity profile] fairest1.livejournal.com 2004-10-21 02:07 pm (UTC)(link)
YES. We must do this. But what to dress Snow as . . . hmm . . . or Broom, for that matter.

[identity profile] fairest1.livejournal.com 2004-10-22 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
Oooh! Xena! *hides from character*

[identity profile] agent-dkscully.livejournal.com 2004-10-21 02:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Would it be too much to have the bar dress Scully as Clarice Starling? *quirks brow* *steeples fingers*

[identity profile] fairest1.livejournal.com 2004-10-21 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I say that it's a decent idea, though I'm not sure how much of a costume it'd be, aside from a wig . . .

[identity profile] tarie.livejournal.com 2004-10-21 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Hrm, wouldn't it be cool if, since this is the Magical Milliways and stuff, that it could actually realistically make a person look like someone else? *ponderS*

[identity profile] sir-gareth.livejournal.com 2004-10-21 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
It would seem feasible as part of the bar's extra efforts in the costume department. The novels which gave me the idea went for the whole different size, shape and form, as well as just clothes. And let's face it... its all in the iconage really *winks*

[identity profile] tarie.livejournal.com 2004-10-21 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, I could make Starling icons. *squees* Muahahhahahah. Oh dear god, I hope other people agree about that aspect of the bar's costuming efforts! :D

*will have to talk to SilentBob-mun about costumes for Jay and Silent Bob as well*

Oh, I think that would tramatic and evil.

Dooooooooo it. You want to.

[identity profile] tarie.livejournal.com 2004-10-21 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
It would be, especially if she encountered Dr. Lecter whilst in that state! (And Chris Carter, btw, created Scully as he was inspired by Thomas' Starling character. Muah.)

[identity profile] maid-of-astolat.livejournal.com 2004-10-21 04:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm having the idea to have Elaine outfitted as Roxie Hart from Chicago. It would just be fun to see her reaction to the clothes...or lack thereof. ;-)

What, me evil? Sometimes. *Looks heavenward innocently*

[identity profile] maid-of-astolat.livejournal.com 2004-10-21 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
And yes, if Halloween could be magically extended to Monday, it would be just wonderful, as weekend online activities are next to impossible for me...*sigh*
