(no subject)

Because I feel like it...

Several hundred years from now, perhaps around the 25-2800s as we count them, Earth and Cybertron have lost contact with each other, a far cry from the 1980s, when some of Cybertron's greatest warriors did battle on the planet. In fact, Earth is now off-limits to Cybertronian incursion.

Enter Megatron. A brash idealist, dedicated to restoring the glory of the former Decepticon empire, long since laid low and subsumed into the Pax Cybertronica, a treaty keeping the ruling Maximal and Predacon parties in an uneasy alliance. Megatron, along with a crew of rogues, steals an ancient relic, the Golden Disk, which allegedly contains the location of a storehouse of Energon, the Transformers' lifeblood. Hijacking a starship, the Predacon crew uses the relatively untested Transwarp technology to fling their craft through time and space, setting them out where the Disk indicated... but when?

A team of Maximal explorers, led by Optimus Primal, gave pursuit. Both ships crashed, and the Beast Wars began. Eventually it was revealed that the mysterious planet was Earth, with the dominant lifeform being Australopithecus. Megatron used this knowledge to break into the crashed spaceship that contained the dormant bodies of the legendary Autobot and Decepticon heroes. He managed to (at least briefly) kill Optimus Prime, the Autobots' greatest leader, causing a temporal vortex that was only plugged by the Maximals' fiercest effort. Stealing the Spark (i.e. the soul) of Decepticon commander Megatron, his namesake, granted Megatron unimaginable power and an imposing new body. Eventually, however, Megatron's plot to steal the Decepticons' original starship and return to Cybertron as a conqueror failed, and Megatron was lashed to the hull of the Maximals craft and hauled off to Cybertron for trial...

Until he broke free along the way. Given that the Maximals were traveling through time *and* space in their return to Cybertron, Megatron was spat out halfway home, but with a several thousand year head start. During his flight back to Cybertron, he finds himself in Milliways, where he can plot to his Spark's content.

Seriously, the second season of "Beast Wars" is some of the best animated programming *ever.* So good.

-hx, note that THIS Megatron is a different individual from the gun that fought that truck guy in that cartoon. This Megatron is smarter and more successful than that giant chrome-plated retard.

Dude.

I don't NEED to be encouraged to watch Beast Wars.

I LOVE Beast Wars.

To itty bitty pieces. (It's one of my main fandoms too. Oh yeah.)

And will watch it any time it's on. (I want it on DVD - pleeeeeese? You gave us the original Transformers - can we have the BW/BM series too?)

And you get extra "cool points" too.

Both for the summary AND for your choice of Megatron version.

'Cause Dragon-tron RULES (sorry Waspinator..).

Thanks a whole bunch! :D
