No one's posted yet, so...

Your pup finds a time machine that's only good for ONE trip (and the return!). What do they do?

... First two answers Felix gives are "leave it alone" and "bury it".

He Doesn't Like time travel.

Mel will go and eat that goddammed cookie that Mike knew she was looking forward to, dammit!

Marguerite might seriously consider going back to prevent her brother being nearly beaten to death by the servants of the Marquis St. Cyr. But I think in the end what she'll really do is go back and prevent herself from denouncing the Marquis. That way an entire family's lives will be saved and her husband will never despise her.

Ben would take it to Reed for a good laugh at the poor design. One trip? Really? Pah-leeze. ;)

And to take the question seriously...
Jessica Drew would go back to when the skrulls kidnapped her, free herself and wreck up some serious shit; timelines be damned.

Val wouldn't bother as there's really no where for her to go. She might go back in time to be with herself when she gets erased just so she doesn't have to face that alone and to find out what really happened. Only problem with this plan is that Milliways Val might get erased along with her past self.

Jenks would take Matalina to witness the night they first met.

Thalia would go back and smack some sense into Luke.

Usagi would destroy it as he would fear what others would do with the device. He would be tempted to go back and save his lord but his belief in following ones karma would prevent him.

Santo would either go back to witness a time when he was awesome or keep the bus load of depowered Xavier students from blowing up.

Rory would be UNIMPRESSED.

He knows someone with a time (and space) machine who can make UNLIMITED trips.

Oops! Posted too soon.

So answering the question, probably nothing. He wouldn't go on these time-travel-y trips alone anyway.

Alba wouldn't use it. Although she would be a little jealous that someone could use a machine to travel and could actually brings things along for a trip -- you know, like clothes.

Josie would have gone back in time for the money.

Karkat would go back in time and have angry sex with himself.

(But he would wait for his future self to show up and have angry sex with him first, then recharge, then do it, because he doesn't want to be a doomed paradox copy of himself.)

This is canon, folks. It's not my fault.

This made me laugh because I totally wasn't expecting it.

Now I think I really have to go back and finish reading that story. XD

This is a hard one for most of my pups since a lot of them are rather accepting of this is how things are.

William would seriously consider going back to the day his father was shot and trying to save him. He's just not sure how.

Will wouldn't change anything because all that has happened has done something.

Demeter would sigh about the Fates and not use it because she doesn't want to cause a family argument.

Jane has nothing she wants to change yet. Ask her later in canon and she'll have a different answer.

Sameth doesn't think going back in time would help, if he thought it would, he'd go.

Moist also doesn't at this moment in time.

Tumnus would be thoughtful and say that if he could have helped Narnia sooner, he would have.

The Pirate King doesn't have anything.

If Ellen has learned anything from the Drake Tungsten comics, it's that if you travel in time and mess with history or the future in ANY WAY, a Wyoming man in an old Corvega will pop up out of nowhere and lasso you right out of the time stream and stick you in the trunk so you can't screw things up any further before he goes about fixing what you did.

She might try popping forward a few years to see how Harold is doing up in Oasis, but even that's kind of chancy.

Ugh, timetravel. Such a bad idea all around, and Mike knows it. Though...this would not stop him from going back in time to make sure Klunk was no where near the Junk Shop once the fighting began.

If Amascut weren't so messed up, she would use the time machine to prevent her brother from bringing the Mahjarrat to their world and work on some other way to deal with Zaros. But, as she currently is, she would write down the exact details of how she stumbled across the time machine, travel to a time after she was kicked out of the god club, and cause a crisis of infinite Amascuts.

I think, oddly enough, Evil Chicken would use it to prevent his own existence. So both of mine would really like to cause paradoxes.

Assuming HG's time machine had survived its canon use, Claudia might've asked for... hmm. Probably a way to see a T. Rex or early David Bowie concert, considering the changing-the-past stipulations attached to it.

If she found another one, and somehow managed to put it to use before Artie found out, she'd probably try to reassure her younger self that Joshua's disappearance works out okay in the end. She wouldn't try to change the event itself, I don't think - aside from paradox concerns, it did ultimately lead her to a kickass job.

Robo doesn't believe in your time-travel nonsense. His universe doesn't support it at all. (Milliways in outside the universe. That's entirely different. Hush.)

Tyler is pretty happy with things right now. He'll save it for later and take lots of notes for when it comes up. 'Cause it will.

Jerry would like to welcome you to the world of vigorous cheating. Step one consists of getting plans for a spaceship and some work to convince his girlfriend to date him without the adventure they shared happening. Plus some lotto numbers and a couple of other odds and ends. Government info is he could get his hands on it is good too. Step two consists of going back before the Krim arrive and handing out sheets of information to everyone involved before. Step three involves more cheating, but against aliens this time.

Ako is setting her's aside too. With the right prep work she should be able to *spoiler* *spoiler* *spoiler* and we never really liked you that much causality, so suck it up and take one for the team.

Yuuno has his covered in warning stickers and mislabeled. If his bosses knew he had a time machine he wouldn't get to keep it expert in odd technology or not. The warning stickers just keep it safe until it's needed that's all.

Lorna would go back to destroy the Mastermold that Cassandra Nova used what'shisname Trask to activate, causing the Genoshian massacre.

Domino would ignore it, or possibly tell Cable about it. She's not interested in time travel.

Belle would go back in time and punch some famous evil-doer (Magneto, Doctor Doom, Hitler, etc.) in the face when they were a kid. It doesn't change the time line, but it looks good on a resume.

[personal profile] magneticxman 2011-01-14 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I just realized, that since Belle speaks Creole, if she did go back in time and punch Hitler, it would probably not turn out so well for the French.

There's a fanfic in that, somewhere.

...it looks good on a resume.

I love that. XD

[personal profile] magneticxman 2011-01-15 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
It's all about properly marketing yourself. ;)

Maybe I should put 'once punched Hideki Tojo' on my resume?

[identity profile] mm-spinelstar.livejournal.com 2011-01-15 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, that works. XD
